Last month, we attended Overland Expo East with our first two prototypes. Our journey began with an 8 am departure from Cincinnati, convoying with Jane in the Tacoma with prototype 01, Noel in the Tundra with prototype 02, with the blank slate build, Eric in the Sprinter/support vehicle, Jane in the Tacoma, and Shay in his GTI to film the journey.

Good overview fly-by of the basic unit. It would be nice to extend the fly-by into the interior as if you were stepping into the back to see the sleeper section and other interior design
Can you get the rack without the sleeper? Or even if you get both could there be an option for a piece that is just a rack ceiling that can be swapped out with the sleeper? Basically I think it would be super super useful if the rack could also just be a rack for daily use to reduce weight and improve aero when I'm not camping.

PLEASE come out with a square/rectangular pop top, not just a wedge. Wedges are better in high wind areas, but suck if you have a partner sleeping next to you. You have to sleep with your feet on the wedge side and just pray that you dont have get up to take a leak at night. Have given and received too many unintentional kicks and elbows due to the wedge layout. With that said, the hardwall layering does look promising!
Totally, there are pros and cons to both. You're right that a wedge is stronger, but understand the kicks and elbows concern. The whole bed platform can slide out into the open cabin area to create more foot and head room, which helps. No plans to make a rectangle pop top at this time, but we're logging all requests!
I Agree I would love to see a pop up Square unit . Add what you did on the back end, to the front Hinge side and you have your Square Unit. Make the unit thicker to fit the 4th wall and maybe add windows that open on the side wall so you can fit another solar panel on the roof to get 800 watts. It does not have to be so slim . Your thoughts ?

Very cool. My only concern is all of the solutions like this are between 15k to upwards of 30k. We need something 10 grand or less or it makes more sense to go with a trailer that frees up the vehicle to be usable while camp is still set.
Hey! Thanks so much. Our starting price is indeed $15k. We'll have a rooftop tent at a lower price point (more info very soon), and perhaps a lower cost camper in the future. We are modular, however - you can take off the sleeper, top the rack/cabin, and your truck will be just like a truck with a regular canopy.

Are you going to be able to keep this full cab overhang? I saw on your prototypes it appeared shorter
The price will likely be double the price of the pickup. 😂 The pickup with a complex engine and transmission system plus gearboxes front and back. Electronics suspension steering 😝 But the camper is still worth more than the truck. .none of these companies will ever see one dime of my money.
Inefficiency due to lack of scale. Toyota could sell something like this for $2k while making profit.
But the large scale camper manufacturers are selling cardboard junk for $50k that leaks the first time you use it. This entire market seems ridiculous. $20k for the most basic shell, but even at $500k you can't assume it's quality.
Is there an actual real one of these toppers installed on a real midsize truck that is not an AI version?
