Do maverick hire felons bro??
@@deshanehundley9136 I don’t know, I don’t think so but I don’t want to feed you misinformation. I’d call recruiting and ask them (501) 955-1287 (not recruiting) but only number I use for them after hrs

hey man do you remember after otr training (maverick) if you did a final evaluation? what all did it entail? i'm about to come off trainer truck but idk what tests to expect. reverse offset again? tarping? or what
@@givenhawk hmmm Final Eval consisted of 3 Backing Maneuvers Straight back,And a couple offsets. That little yard where all trainees practice at before getting to the gate that’s where yall will be for a day. You all will take turns backing doing every maneuver. Only 3 trucks - 3 maneuvers just rotating out practicing showing trainer you got it. It’s superrrr Easy ! But prior to that is a bunch of paperwork, rules, tests, etc. kind of like day 1,he will just be talking to you all to kill time then you will end your day doing maneuvers and getting truck. No tarping, nothing else that’s it.

@@LovelyCat-ho2hq to keep things short, Maverick is great for beginners get your 1year of OTR experience with them and get out. Not sure if you plan to flatbed long term or not ? Go the Regional Midwest route coming here, you’ll see the most money doing that. They do have dedicated routes and marine/glass division hauling boats or glass. Those pay less but you’ll be home more, regional Midwest your home every weekend majority of the time depending on you and/or your fleet manager. I don’t have anything bad to say about Maverick, my next video has a few bad takes but other than that you’ll like it if you don’t mind Flatbedding. @@Tytrades When you get hired a guy named Rich gives out WiFi boxes (Hotspots). Yes
Did you have to relocate for the job and do you get the option to choose between regional, OTR, or local?
@@Tytrades No, When you apply/talk to recruiting they ask you where you live. Then they are able to see what’s available in your area. You choose if you want to be Regional, OTR, local spots come and go quick same as dedicated accounts. But Regional pays the most and your home every weekend, well majority of the time. OTR is same pay but no hometime and you go wherever they send you. So no relocation

@@tavarisstewart6324 More $ to be made, Seems like higher in seniority you get the lesser miles you get. Or maybe in was just me
I also have another question so when it comes to you getting hired on after the training program, how are the miles? Do they give you a lot of miles because I wanna get a lot of miles, and I wanted to be a constant week that I get a lot of miles.
@@KyonnaInglewood yes all new drivers see an average of 2500 miles a week but your CPM will be low starting at like .58-.60. It’ll balance out, and your CPM will increase every 3 months by .3

@@givenhawk correct ! Both messed up my weekend, plans, as far as pay ehhh my miles and pay have been the same for the past 3 months ever since I hit .72cpm
Question how long would you say it approximately takes to secure a load ?
@@slimm-xh9jd depends on what load it is and the place and if we have to tarp it Lumber - 1.5 hrs Coil/coils - 30-45 min Steel beams - 45 min Shingles - 30 min Home Depot - 2-3 hrs 😂 Steel Bars - 45 min
Damn is that the waiting time for the shipper included? Or it’s just securing load lol that’s a long time
@@slimm-xh9jd all depends some customers do take long. Or you could be picking up a preload, preloads out of Dallas are always load swaps which means your swapping an empty for a loaded one and you have move all your equipment over than throw straps and than go get Tarped. But they tarp for you, your doing all of this in Full PPE 110 degree weather so yea Home Depot loads are usually 2-3 hrs. But every other load takes about 45min - 1.5hrs depending on load, line, and tarping
@@RoadRunnaJ oh ok so do you have a set schedule like a 9-5 typa thing and how many hours would you say your actually on the road driving per day, Also is the whole 60cpm after training true? A recruiter told me that’s what I’d be making after training I’m fresh outta cdl school
@@slimm-xh9jd no set schedule, depends on the load I have. Usually try to start my days early 5-6am, earlier you start you dodge traffic, police, construction, and you park/stop your clock earlier so parking is always available. Per day I drive however many hrs my load is for example: Steel Coil out of Blytheville AR going to Chicago IL is 7hr drive about 500 mile run. I’ll drive 2 hrs from home to pick up and another 5 or 6 depending on how I’m feeling than park for the day, then drive the remaining hr in the morning around 5-6 am. Places we deliver to usually don’t open until 7-8 am. May take me 45min-1hr to secure and tarp So I drive about 8 hrs a day. As far as the 60cpm that is true, I did the same got my CDL then came to Maverick but I was already driving for Amazon prior to Maverick. First 2 months will be terrible financially but your CPM goes up .3 cents every 3 months. You will get long miles and get home every Friday not unless you get stuck out which rarely happens or you get a bad fleet manager
Maverick just hmu yesterday I drive for Boyd right now but I’m thinking about coming over there.
@@E80-t6e That’s wassup man, Good luck ! How long were you with Boyd ? Hopefully maverick will match the cpm

good info!
Great vid bro, yeah my dads name not on my birth certificate neither, Do you get better flatbed loads or more loads with a Twic card and or hazmat endorsement.? Thanks again my guy 🫡
@@Iamamazing381 Can’t speak for every company but w Maverick if you don’t have your twic they most likely won’t send you to ports. Still may send you there you’ll just have to pay for an escort $220. But them sending you to ports all depends on your area. Picking up at ports means long very long lines/wait times. So there is no good or bad loads from this situation. Now you have to have Twic or in the process of getting it applying at 90% of these hazmat companies. Doing flatbed we don’t pick up hazardous loads
Great content bro, just got hip to your channel , I been driving a school bus use to drive OTR and at the ports in Philly years ago. Do you think if I come to maverick in the winter time I’ll get decent pay checks.? Outta maverick, tmc and Jordan who do you think would be the best all around to start with, I live in New Jersey and I never drove flatbed before.?Do you have ig.? Thanks for the great content, keep it up 🫡
@@Iamamazing381 first off Thanks For the Support ! Coming in the winter time may affect your pay cause freight is slow during that time of the year. Check out this video ua-cam.com/video/hHNQFPlFTZc/v-deo.htmlsi=sjxw3uBEsjKKSph0 you will get more clarity on your question. Flatbed isn’t as bad as I thought it would be before getting into it. I’m not really active on IG mainly on here with trucking content. I haven’t ever been to the NY/NJ area truck driving or the West Coast so I don’t know what it’s like but I do know Maverick will do right by you. It’s a great Beginner company as the others you asked about. Thanks again for the Support, Much appreciated
Go to P&S transportation. The training facility is in Carlisle, PA. And it’s more better as a company to deal with a primary northeast company rather than a southern/midwest company. Not saying maverick is a southern/midwest company but P&S is predominantly a northeast/southwest company and its percentage base company. 27% per load.

hey what's your driving advice for those hills in the carolinas? is it scary at first? gotta break off and on every few seconds?
@givenhawk So The Mountains in the Carolinas, TN are just irritating. The Virginia mountains are the worst in my experience but I would say just take your time. You’ll be in an automatic truck if coming to Maverick, Going up just keep your foot on the gas and Don’t brake. Going Down, when you see the signs that tell you to keep your speed at 45-50mph slow down to the posted speed for trucks and begin using your Jake brake. Than going down it’ll be a breeze cause your Jake brake will handle everything all you have to do is tap your brake a few times when you begin to reach speeds of 60 mph and up. When you become experienced you can cruise it out and use the stab brake method depending on the mountains. Hope this helped/answered your question !
@@RoadRunnaJ it did thank you, i'll be joining ya'll in august
