Are there any diference between the results on the regular casete and the attachment? I already bought mine today, but i got the ken onion mk2 not the elite, so im wondering if once i sharpen a knife using the guides on the casete and the edge guide will the resulte be too different vs the blade grinder attachment?
@@De4dPoo1 I'm a huge fan of the blade grinder. The Casette I really haven't used in over a year! 😅
Hello Michael, Do you think that I will do okay by charging with cash?
Are you serious, guy? You tell me to reach out about my issues (after nobody responds for weeks), so I give you the benefit of the doubt and reach out via you’re preferred method…and nobody responds?? What a joke! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS CLOWN!!
@@JohnSmith-ip8zy I’m looking directly at our 512-804-9883 inbox with 100% response rate. Are you reaching out to the correct number?
@@JohnSmith-ip8zy I have a feeling you haven’t reached out to 512-804-9883. I’ll look out for the message! I’m pretty much waiting for it.
@@SharperByMichaelI’m glad you “have a feeling”…i know how to dial a phone number, chief. You’re disingenuous and your product is shoddy and over priced. Rather than try to work with you on a solution more than i already have, while you’ve done nothing to reach out to me, id rather just leave reviews in any place i can and warn people about you at this point.
@JohnSmith-ip8zy I just responded via email. I have many customers that are happy, and I am not doubting your ability to dial a phone number lol. Say what you want about the product...I'll stand by the business as it's what I've worked to build. I still would like the opportunity to make it right, as I honestly have not received a call from you. You're in Australia, I invited you to WhatsApp since that's most convenient. Give me a number to call and I'll be calling it straight away. I am none of the things you stated so let's communicate, please. Thank you.
@JohnSmith-ip8zy you're saying I haven't done anything to reach out to you but this is the first time I'm hearing about this as of recently... Again, please give me an opportunity here. I'm not a liar.
Michael, My son is trying to put this into his Creality Ender 3 and says the box is too big??? Does the box around the riser shown in the file print also?
@@JC-xl1pp I am not quite sure, my apologies. I print on Bambu printers and I'm not sure how to move things to Ender 😅
Is the $55 (non carbon fiber) version also magnetic for the mk.2 model?

Ordered a set for the mk2 the other day, really looking forward to them arriving in England : -)
Great video, thanks a lot. A video on deburring would be so nice! Most professional devurring methods refer to using stones and use edge leading strokes which is simply not possible with the Ken Onion. I Have a leather stropping belt, but I can't get it right I assume. Still learning, but I get great sharpening results as the apex goes but never got even near a razor sharp experience and the stropping almost always felt like it had little to no impact on the result. Also would like to know your routine for touching up knives. Thanks in advance and keep up the great work!
Can you post a link to the video you said where we can copy your website?
Grazie
👍
to be fair, that is a lower end wusthoff from a restaurant supply store
Definitely gonna get one when my sharpener comes in
What abrasive are you using?
What about contract agreement /subscription/ with businesses like restaurants, salons, butcher`s shops and things like that? If so, do you make them any discount?
Nice video with great info. But I listen while working and would get so much more out of it if you were talking through the equipment list instead of the music.
That A.I thumbnail sucks ass, bro. you can't even take a UA-cam shocked face pic of yourself? Shame.
keep in mind ppl with pet alergies and working in ur car
Did you do this on the worksharp too?
Live and learn awesome that you got the opportunity too do such a beautiful sword 🗡️⚔️
Got that extra time too enjoy life ! Do it more often
Nice motivation music
That's a cool Colby!😅
Your neighbor?
You must be a good teacher too say the least!
No thank you Michael!
are those original work sharp sharpening belts ?
I'm trying to decide which version to get. Can you say a bit more about the sliding version vs the magnet version? I've never used either, but I like the idea of a riser to keep the angle consistent. I'll mostly be doing kitchen and pocket knives. Thank you!
@@youngrc212 we are wrapping up production of a new version slider riser. It meets right up to the belt and you can adjust exactly where you want it. I would recommend the sliding version - all new orders are being sent the updated version at no extra cost (video coming very soon). The stationary risers have a limited distance to the belt and wouldn’t be best for pocket knives. The sliding version comes with a wide base for long blades and a narrow base for most kitchen and pocket knives. Carbon fiber is heat resistant, stronger and overall a better unit.
@@SharperByMichael Sounds great. Thanks for the quick response. I'll order the sliding version right now. Thanks!
@@SharperByMichael And submitted! Ordered the new version in carbon fiber. Looking forward to using it. Thanks!
@@youngrc212 you betcha! Looking forward to your thoughts 🙌 have a great day!
Any benefit to the carbon fiber version besides esthetics?
@@jbserious much more resistant to heat and is much more durable ✅
@SharperByMichael Just ordered!
Where is your knife angle wiki?
That's the shitt hell ya Michael!
How did you sharpening scissors ? Is it on work sharp 😮?
@@Ethnoworldshop Kitchen & Fabric scissors yes, any convex shears like grooming shears I use a flat hone. Are you starting up a small business? 💪
Hey bro. Where to find some kind of mails. Like you give back knife to client in mails with a ruler. Thank you
@@Ethnoworldshop I can send you a direct link, send me a DM on IG!
When I first got the KO I built my own riser out of cardboard duct tape and popsicle sticks. Awsomd.
My name is Vlad. I came from Ukraine 4 months ago. The fact is that my father and I are manufacturers of sharpening devices KAZAK (Idaho) and now I'm in the USA. I want to start another sharpening business. And I want to say that your video helped me. You're doing a great job. Thank you.
30 five star reviews is amazing. It took me 10 years to get 100 of them in my own business. 4.8 avg
Hey Michael! I missed the sale unfortunately :( Ive just started watching your videos this last week and I've been thinking about starting my own business for knife sharpening and I thought taking your accelerated course would really help me with that. I hope we can work something out! Please let me know! God Bless!!!
How long do the stock rollers last for you before you were finding them lacking?
I had the stock ones stop working how I liked after a few heavy sharpening sessions..honestly was so surprised!
Another mini short where your message gets cut off. What’s up with your shorts lately?
@@EricsWormPlayground chalking it up to content testing. Shorts has a feature that lets you clip long form and they are linked. Having more is better. I hear ya though. There's tons of content forms and the snippets aren't my favorite compared to other forms of shorts that can be uploaded.
@@SharperByMichael oh so it’s some automated AI? Yeah, now I understand. I LOVED your content with your long form “start a biz in 2024”. I just got my work sharp mk1 with expansion because of you.
@@EricsWormPlayground nah, just using the UA-cam Studio app and it's all done manually. AI can definitely do the job but it's not linked to the long-form so it has to be done by hand. I'm glad you found value out of my content! 🙏 How's your sharpening journey been? You just got your setup..any previous experience sharpening?
@@SharperByMichael I’ve sharpened knives with basic sharpeners one might get from pampered chef, but I just have my knives done professionally. Your videos made me think maybe I should try a side hustle doing mine and for the locals. I just received my shipment last night of my sander and upgrade kit and a box of extra belts. Might need to buy some info from you in the next few.
Who is making your clips and shorts? It’s like they are random and nonsensical. Not up to your usual high quality output
@@EricsWormPlayground I am working on it. Definitely an area I have to grow in and put more attention to. I appreciate that you brought it to my attention! 🙏
@@SharperByMichael don’t take my comment at all negatively. Your videos have clean and attractive editing. This felt like it was done by AI or someone on fiverr.
Always wipe a blade from spine towards the edge so that you dont cut yourself. I honed straight razors for years and knives are not even close to the sharpness of a straight razor.
@@michaelvanbuskirk8845 agreed! One better, ball the microfiber up, push the edge into the micro fiber at the angle of the bevel. Risk-free.
1 of 2 things either it’s got to much wax on it and it makes it hard to apply or you heat it up a lil and then apply
And then you woke up
Great video! I learned a lot.
Will the files be available like the mk1 versions? Would love to print the design myself or pay for the files.
That's a deep cut.
Sweet but once I start my biz I’m gonna need you to 🤫🤫🤫🤫😂😅😂
