Man....Jamie has such a unique picking style. Not only does he use both his thumb and fingers...but he syncopates the rhythm each are playing. Super difficult to do...

he messed up one of his fingers and can't move it now, so he relearned to play the guitar. my guess is that's why he uses the thumb that way.
