hey man, having trouble removing the black borders beause 4:3 has way more barrel destort was it just the recording in 16:9 and then cropping it to 4:3 that removed the bars? was export on like, a youtube specific?
Yes, recording in 16:9 with alot of spacerrings, which gives alot of black vignette to the sides and then cropped to 4:3 in sony vegas . exportsettings for youtube 1280:960 50fps max bitrate 50.000.000bits/s
I have a death lens on my hcx 1000, but even with OIS off the lens still shakes more than it should. Did you have shaking issues with your opteka?

Awesome really simple solution.
Tried it today worked great, fin felt very snug. I'm curious if I can just keep doing it forever on this board or if eventually ill have to get it repaired.
I used it on a futures box btw. I had a pack of different size zip ties. seems helpful to have the choices, a bigger or smaller tie might not have made as snug a fit.
@@Alex-rb5fs after about 1 year of doing this it is getting loose again (on my board) unfortunatly.... now i stuck some old credit card parts to the side of the fin and it still works :D maybe i need to get the job done by a shop now ^^
@@peteair how exactly has it affected the fin box long term? Did the zip tie method eventually start to gradually widen the screw hole?
Rode it again today even bumped on a rock and feels snug as ever :)

how did you get the opteka 0.3 52mm fisheye to work on the hcx1000, i got it a few months back and it was blurry and wouldn’t be clear

Opteka 0.3 Titanium series 52mm with an adapter to 49mm. No extra spacer. As u can see there is still a slight wobble of the edges of the fisheye, (which did not happen when i put it on my vx1000), even if i have the imagestabilizer switched off.

Thanks! There is only one thing which u should know, if u film with fisheye, even if the imagestabilisator is switched off, the vignette of the fisheye does slightly move. I did use an overlay in this video to correct for that, which in my opinion is a good option still. U can see the wobbly edges in this video ua-cam.com/video/D1WZ9R0ZxoI/v-deo.html
