went on a long weekend trip to Fairbanks Alaska April of 2019. I was amazed! I am a car guy. mostly muscle cars, but this museum was totally amazing! I saw cars with company names I've never heard of before. so, if ya got a spare 20 minutes, I'll share part of my several hours I was there. if your ever in Fairbanks, they are only open 2 days a week. it is a must see if your a motor head.

just a short wRm up video. over the winter this 2 year old professional rebuilt carb, leaked all the fuel, causing a no crank. pulled us, spun the engine over to remove fuel from cyls. changed oil and filter. checked needles and seats in carb. they seemed to be working properly. so, after this warm up, I gave the engine a couple 6k revs. shut it off, and checked the clear view oil filter housin...

after a ladder bar adjustment from last outing, the car once again leaves straight. Now to get the clutch dialed in.

2021 gives the POS a New Control freak front suspension and a new dual 7 inch Advance clutch. still has the jerico in it, and am now able to use the data logger to see way to much clutch in it yet. have only been out twice this year, hoping to get out 2 more times and see if i can get the clutch tuned in somewhere close...

Thanks for the video, but if you held the camera/cell phone sideways you have a full screen to look at instead of a strip with nothing outside the narrow band of a picture.

Some 45 years later and I am missing my ugly little GremlinX :) AMC muscle was under rated and people beat them to death, getting so much harder to find now-a-days, would love me a Rebel were I rich, later eh :)

@@72POS no, what i mean is that here in Europe 99 per cent of cars have a manual gearbox. America is a nation of a quarter of a billion people but none of them know what a clutch does

May be a good thing 'nothing wild' was going on there. It's sketchy having people crowd the streets with cars peelin out as they leave. Some guys just don't know how to control or respect the power of their vehicle and when they get loose and out of control things can go badly for them people crowded around. Everyone wants to be close, that's understandable, but you're putting way to much trust into the capabilities of the drivers and the condition of the vehicles. Personally I like to stand where the view is good and there's no chance of becoming a victim to unforeseen circumstances.

thanks! it doesnt look pretty for sure, best et to date has been 9.37 @ 142 mph. hope to be able to get it out more this year and set a new best. it is Amc powered (Na) with a 4 speed.

HI Staton, this is the Late Randy McCorkle, he was the NAAR world champion in 1970.. he claimed he always used the clutch on his shifts. now, he never lifted off the gas pedal just jabbed the clutch pedal and banged the shifter... I am Mike Luke, current caretaker of the POS and i do shift clutchless myself... (I am NOT a world champion, just a old guy having fun).
Even the not so cool cars from the early 70's are so cool today!
