You can respool your old spools with a drill gun a 1/4 inch bolt two washers and a wing nut the bolt needs to be about 3 1/2 inches long

You are my teacher , thank you. I started making jig after watching your videos. We caught so many big crappie on okeechobee last two years. My two friends are 84 and 83 years old have fished okeechobee for 30 years. They are so impressed by my jigs.

Man i did this today at 1:00 waited bout 25-30 minutes caught 2 Nice ones like 4lbs a piece then a hour later it was on i caught 8 total but i miss about 8 of them too this works..i was fishing in a local canal the water moves very slowly too they was biting i eas so freaking excited to see this works..i left the fishing spot baitless 😂 i was like wow but i would Suggest ppl wait 30 minutes to an hour for the fish to come in if you're fishing a canal they will come..you got a subscriber today

Beautiful jigs! What’s your thoughts on weedguards? I fish a lot of heavy cover and have perfected a double 50# or 30# mono weedguard. I tie them on 1/16 and 1/8 heads. The 50# will knock lite biting crappie off sometimes but works great on the big war mouth (goggle eye) we have in south Louisiana. The 30# works great on crappie but will hang up in some very thick stuff sometimes. I just hate to tie jigs and spend time on 5-6 different materials, weedguard and rattles just to hang it and lose it. I’ve got that pretty well solved, now if I could do something about the garfish…anyway- more flash=more fish… keep on tying buddy. You make em pretty.

It appears that you tie a lot of jigs using Sickle style hooks. I seem to have an issue trying to find sickle hook jigs to tie....do you have a prefered source for different size/weight jigs to tie?

I’m about a year in to tying. When I first got started what I found most confusing was the different names for things, for example schlappen vs. Hackle but then you have Neck hackle or saddle hackle, then there are whole capes or Saddles and let’s not forget marabou. That’s JUST some of the feathers. Then there a cactus chenille vs. New Age vs. Antron. That has been the hardest part not actually learning to tie but knowing what products I need and learning not ALL materials are created equal

Seems like they're building a bucees here in nc, somewhere out towards the coast. I've never been to one so I can hardly wait. Hey by the way, I'm loving your videos!! I'm a jig tier too and you tie some nice ones!!

That gives me more confidence and reminded me the cone is only 20 degrees. I have only used my Garmin 5 times and one time it really paid off. That was last summer for bass but excited about crappie. I would think the larger the school of crappie the easier it will be to put your jig on them. That is a great idea to find a target above water to dial in the unit for that particular day. Thanks dude!
