This four-month long fellowship supports emerging journalists who are enthusiastic about social justice forward reporting. For the first three months of this fellowship, our Journalism for Change fellow will produce weekly news hits with direction from rabble’s editor Nick Seebruch. In the final month of the fellowship, the fellow will produce a long-form feature story.
This video features Madison Edward-Wright, our 2023/24 fellow.

Shut down the CBC? Given how, over the years, it's become a hollowed out mouthpiece for conservatives and PC liberals, is that such a bad idea? Democracy in Canada? What a great idea. How soon do you figure that might happen? It's amazing how Canada's left insist on believing the myth of Canada the nation state and tales of Ed Broadbent the statesman under the heroic NDP - the party of working union members but not working people.

We need to get out of that dark shadow. Yet, we keep eating their food, their media, their culture. Yes, it is scary, and no I'm not willing to maintain the American empire because we're too reliant on it. There must be another way. Maybe we should join the EU. I'd rather the EU or expand and make legit the UN.

Hasn't anyone in this chat ever saw the movie the " Wizard of Oz"? If the curtain was pulled back & the ALL powerful Wizard is the man who controls the 💰 Wasn't Nathan Mayer Rothschild who said that he cared not who was the king or the government as long as he controlled the money? The saying all roads lead to Rome via Davos Switzerland where the WEF propose a Centralized Bank Digital Currency aka CBDC easily controlled by them doesn't raise any red flags. 😢

The NDP need to slowly but surely put aside telling the public how bad the Liberals and the conservative are. We know. Here are some other items that might help make them an actual party of the left: - Stop fearing the term "socialist". - Purge their ranks of career politicians - Review and radically change their foreign policies - the left once stood for peace (although perhaps not the NDP) - Do a Jeremy Corbyn style membership drive to include more people and not just those who will help elect a particular leader (you know how I'm talking about) - Never stop campaigning against against FPTP elections! - Be an actual working class party that recognized the true causes of inequality - Change radically or dissolve the party and let the Liberals do what they do best - eat the NDPs lunch!

Why are Canada's left so naïve? The NDP made few gains in the last election and, as ALWAYS, the Liberals cheated the Conservatives out of another fake majority with blatant lies. You don't need to be a statistician to see that FPTP rarely provides anything like a true majority. This time round the number of abstainers will be at a record high just like in Ontario's last election. We've never seen a time like this where ALL parties are so far out of touch with ordinary people. It's as if we don't have a government just one big never-ending TV commercial. Authoritarian proto-fascism has taken hold in this country. Not a surprise when the leaders of all three parties get their vision of government from Davos at the annual billionaire's jamboree. No one in Canadian politics has a vision of what Canada is or could be. The radical left in Canada envision a neoliberal dystopian compromise where only the deserving few have a place to live and a corporate oligarchy dishes out the worse kind of virtue-signaling charity for the homeless and the poor, whose rakes swell by the day. Meanwhile the next phase of private health care is about to take hold and, people dying as a result, has become completely acceptable to all "sides".
