Every year I have item's stolen we put a stop to it last year we air tagged major items and meet the police at the scumbags house they stole enough items to earn themselves a felony in my area. Rude kids are the worst on Halloween night we have a few actors in our displays I use a couple of fog machines the blanket the whole dam yard and half the street in fog actors surrounded brat child who learns to stay out of yard fast. Yes my neighbor's love to see wvat new items we add every year to the haunt. Cameras don't work if you're police department is understaffed they look at footage and you never hear from them again.

The HOA would ban me for life or show up to my house with priests if they saw my haunt display.

I set up a walkthrough on halloween every year, the day after Halloween when I was taking down the walkthrough haunt I had noticed that someone stole one of my 2013 zombie baby’s from Spirit Halloween. This zombie baby was a gift I got for Christmas one year and it was one of my favorite ones. I’ve stopped setting up small animatronics and zombie baby’s because of this. I make sure everything is locked behind a ton of caution tape now and out of the way.

Only thing is get a Electric Fence...

Try and steal them, become part of the display, like the movie Waxwork.

I live in a not so nice area, I'd never set up my animatronics outside. I don't wanna risk my friends getting stolen! If I did put them outside I'd have to figure out how to hook up alarms to them.

recommend a tall Halloween made fence if you don't have one to protect your property. It will stop people from just running up and grab. I have a 5 foot Halloween wooden fence I put up as barrior.

“Jerks” they have always bin my biggest fear when putting out my animatronics. Especially because im 15 and cant replace them all if something happens. I recommend putting them in your hose or garage at night.

That's a great leather face costume! You could make it even more authentic if you wore the costume while carrying a real axe or chainsaw! You can't wear a costume that good and walk around with a fake chainsaw, cause that would be an insult to horror fans, like myself.

To protect all of or giants from HD is to chain them all to 50ft trees so they go NOWHERE!!And we put more weight on their base than the prop weighs.

My neighborhood literally had full on slaughterhouses displayed in their front yards. 20 years later, we still have crazy Halloween displays. Luckily our HOA isn’t awful. We have all kinds of themes that people like to do. It was always so fun to trick-or-treat at those houses in particular. They were scary, and that’s what made it exciting.

What about weather?

I have this big bush outside of my house that we would always put spiderwebs on and then we would put a giant spider on top of it. It went along great with the rest of the decorations but one day we came home and the spider was stolen. We zip tied it on so it wasn’t the wind, someone cut the zip ties.

This is my second year being in the haunter community, thanks for these heads up, I only gotta look out for 3, I live in a very ghetto part of California so crime tends to be a bit more common, a few years ago I had a dinosaur skeleton in my display stolen, so now I have to put certain props inside every night to make sure they don't get stolen.

Yeah one time someone put A random doll in my spiderwebs, we still don’t know who did it

yeah i heard about the stolen stuff on the new at 11. i was so mad that some morons stole this guys stuff.

I made my graveyard fence out of free pallets i found. I then used a blow torch to burn them to make it look weathered. Only things i purchased was long pieces of scrp wood to screw the pallet pieces into and plastic anchors for the feet of each section.

Im an 11 year old home haunter, and we have only had to deal with a few souls being stolen,

I only put my props out on Halloween and I watch them

As a pretty young haunter I don’t treat my display like trash

Not to mention religious nuts that make you feel guilty for even setting up halloween decorations

HOAs are tyrants, if its my property that im paying taxes on I have every right to display whatever the hell I want within it's boundaries and nobody else has any say on it unless they want to start paying my bills for me
