Yasui had the Stupidest death scene. ROBIN WAS THERE. Zoro couldn’t catch up to otoko? Wano showed a lot of weaknesses in Oda’s writing style. It’s cool to be able to come up with random storylines as you go or on the fly- but “details” are important. We have to DUMB OURSELVES DOWN so this “drama” could work.. Oda forces readers to feel emotions he wants, at the cost of a messy plot. On 1 hand you have his eureka idea of the smile fruit and the laughing town- but in order to incorporate it into the story, he just orchestrated this forced plot that, on the other hand, had details that were loose and all over the place.

One of the weaker things about Black Clover for me is how dedicated and one note each character is about their particular quirks. But here, it unexpectedly becomes a strength by showing them breaking that mold, conveying the severity of the moment. Great stuff!
