Fire Emblem: The Sacred Echoes - Blind Difficult Playthrough, Chapter 29A
Only Alm’s route can be played now. Can’t complain about the game being too easy anymore, this chapter was fun to do with the party divided in two groups and with the side objective of reaching the villages.
A new shrine has appeared but I just went to an old one to promote some characters for now.

27C: Oh noes, the boss can multiply? No problem, just warp and kill it, which ends the chapter 😆 I continued straight to 28C instead of changing routes since the previous chapter was so short. This one took some planning but it wasn’t really difficult with all the tools available at this point. The Gradivus helped with beating the Dread Knight. 28A: Harsh terrain ignored by flying enemies. Not ...

I was surprised by the boss’ ability to do damage to all my units regardless of where they were. Add that to the witches and summoned monsters, and I decided to take a slow approach (only possible thanks to Nomah’s Fortify), even using Genny’s summons at times.

There’s a limited amount of turns to defeat the boss and save a character. Although it’s a more generous limit than the one in the chapter with Delthea. There’s no clear path to get to the room where the boss is. I suppose there’s a way to open a path like there is to get the chests, I used warp and rescue but before that, I got rid of the enemies in that room that had long range attacks.

Another chapter with a boss summoning monsters across a river/swamp/whatever, with a dread knight or two on the way. This wasn’t as bad, though. And then we’re thrown into another map, this time with fog of war 👀. Fortunately, we get a torch at the start of the battle.

After doing a bit of grinding on the shrines for both parties, leveling supports, promoting a few characters and getting some new equipment from chests, we continue with the story. Catria was the MVP in 24C, Leon did good too. I had some luck with dodging hits but it wasn’t too difficult of a chapter despite the terrain. 25A has constant witch reinforcements… I first cleared it by resetting whe...

On Celica’s route: A spike in difficulty. While one enemy summoner can be dispatched quickly, the other is the boss and he’s across poisonous water. The party can’t cross fast enough while the boss keeps summoning a bunch of flying monsters with high enough stats to double and kill some of my characters. I can’t just send all the pegasus sisters since there’s two bow users near the boss and one...

Invoke is kind of op. The phantoms can be killed rather quickly by some enemies, and I seldom use it to not rely on it too much, but they can take out groups of enemies and even bosses. I don’t recall using summoners in FE8 but from what I understand, they can only keep one summon at a time and the summons die in one hit. Idk if Invoke works the same here as in FE2/FE15, but it’s op in comparis...

22A is one of the trickiest chapters so far in this game. We have a turn limit to defeat the boss and seize the throne, with the side objective of not killing Delthea. Warp is very helpful here. It took some resets to rush this map while not killing Delthea. On one attempt, I sent phantoms to distract her but they ended up killing her and most remaining enemies 😨. I rarely bring more than 2 fliers at the same time in these games. So the triangle attack isn’t something I’ve seen while playing, except for maybe having deliberately brought units with that purpose once or twice. Since grinding is possible in this game, available units are divided in two routes, and all the pegasus sisters are pretty good (unlike Syrene in FE8 who joins very late as a preprom...

I don’t like Fog of War. Since the winning condition was killing the boss, I just rushed to do that. I was kind of expecting to have to reset to keep everyone alive but I succeeded on the first attempt. Despite a few annoying maps, this game seems to be easier than any other I’ve played so far in the series. After completing the chapter, a new shrine showed up on the world map. Lots of enemies ...

A fairly simple map, with the main things to watch out for being the mage reinforcements and the crit weapons on some myrmidons. I followed the npc advice and found Iote’s Shield 👀, idk if there were more items hidden in the sand. Then did a couple of shrine runs to promote Genny, Hyas and Catria.

Too bad the Bygone days ost is not used in this version
2 of your newly promoted units have become part sword users now. Anyways, with the story route, you’ll probably reach Zoma castle soon and save Cecilia from what she’s about to do.
Looks like now you can only use Alm and his troops. The endgame is near.
Is this difficult?
Wow! Alm’s a bow user now!
With the Hero’s Proof, Alm can now change his class.

Calvary units can barely move around in the sand. Try to keep them away from it. Magic users and flying units move just fine. Infantry don’t have much trouble with the sand but it still slows them down a bit. You can find some stuff hidden in the sand but I’m not sure where they’d be at. Search everywhere and you might find them.
I think something might be wrong with your copy of sacred stones 😂
This is really cool though I didn't know this existed in playing SoV rn
Once you start chapter 20, if you save before starting the fight, you can’t access the map again until Creature Campaign. This is your final chance to prepare.
1:22:39 Duesell no! So much for a deathless grindless game.
@@tylermercado1445 Franz nearly died too 😆. Even though I sometimes don’t reset after losing a character I didn’t train or spend resources in, I’ve still never done an Ironman run.
If the king is slain, that’s also a game over. There’s almost no way you can keep most of the green units alive. If an enemy is in their range, they’ll attack, even if they’re going to get killed. Kill the boss to end the fight early.
Interesting fact: it’s possible to perform a glitch in this area where you can CONTROL the enemies. How it works is the fire traps. If an enemy is on one of them, wait until the trap damages them, then right before your next turn starts, reset the game, then resume the chapter. If it works, this will restart the enemies’ turn, but not before the fire trap goes off. Now you have control of the enemies. You can also use this glitch to repair a weapon for free. Just have your main lord carry whatever it is you want repaired, then have them move right up to the closest egg and put the weapon in storage. Then if an enemy goes onto a fire trap, perform the glitch. While having control of the enemies, put the weapon the egg has into storage and have it take out the weapon you want repaired. This only works with the first item slot, which is why you have to put their thing in storage first. Now just wait until the egg hatches. This will reset the item’s durability. Do the glitch again so you can send it back in storage. This helps with special items, like the twins starter and sacred twin weapons, and Myrrh’s dragon stone. Also, Demon Surge is a dark based attack, and with the enemy control glitch method, you can put it in storage and have anyone use it. It counts as rank F dark magic so having someone who doesn’t have access to dark magic use it once brings their dark magic rank to E. But it won’t help unless you have them use that enough times to bring their dark magic rank to D. This will allow them to use the basic dark tome: flux. Now you have a new dark magic user. You could put it on bishops, sages, valkryies and mage knights. Or you could even get it onto a non magic user. And even if you complete this chapter, you’re not locked out of this feature forever. It’s possible for a skirmish to happen at this same area, so you can do it again and again.
This is where you can get your final recruit at for the main game. Syrene is a falcon knight, so she can use swords and lances. To recruit her, bring either Vanessa or Tana and have them reach her. The 3 of them can learn a special attack known as the triangle attack. To have them learn it though, Vanessa and Tana must have been promoted. At least 1 of them must be promoted into a falcon knight. You may have either Tana or Vanessa be a Wyvern knight, but not both. Next, Syrene must get a B support with Vanessa and Tana. If all conditions have been met, here’s how to execute their triangle attack. 2 of them must be 1 space diagonal from your target. Then the third one goes right next to both of them and attacks. Their triangle attack will always result in a critical hit. Now, for that extra challenge for this chapter, Syrene and the other green units must survive the entire battle. If you succeed, you get a rescue staff.
After completing this chapter, you will be able to promote Ephraim and Eirika into Great Lords. You also get their sacred twin weapons. These don’t have a required rank to wield and can only be wielded by Eirika and Ephraim respectively. As Great Lords, the twins become mounted units, making them weak against horse slayer lances and Halberd axes, however they do get +2 movement. Oh BTW, Myrhh joins you starting this chapter. She can only attack 50 times, then she’ll never be able to attack again, unless you invoke a certain glitch. She’s strong against monsters but weak against bows. Only powerful magic and pierce attacks will be her downfall.
Not even gonna front, Eirika at that village just constantly getting attacked was giving me MAD anxiety💀
She’s op so of course she dodged 4 attacks and critted twice, all in a single enemy phase 😉
@ the dbl crit on 6 percent is nutty fs
30:57 Wow, that cavalier was inspired that day! A 2% and 1% crit!
I see you promoted Tana into a Falcon Knight. That means even if you promote Vanessa into a Wyvern Knight, she, Tana and Syrene which you get in chapter 17 can still learn their triangle attack once their supports reach A rank. Keep in mind they can’t learn it if you make Tana and Vanessa Wyvern Knights. Speaking of which, in the US version of this game, if Vanessa is a Wyvern Knight, and she gets a critical hit with battle animations turned on, the game will crash. This didn’t happen in Japan. If you make Vanessa a Wyvern Knight and you still want to use battle animations, change the settings for it to solo and turn hers off.
Let me explain about Rennac. He’s a rouge, and as a rouge, he has a great ability called pick. This allows him to open doors and chests WITHOUT needing keys OR lockpicks. He CAN still use lockpicks if you like, but he DOESN’T need them. And yes, he can still steal items from slower enemies as long as his inventory isn’t full. If you promote Colm into an assassin, he’ll lose the ability to steal items but can still use lockpicks.
Bring L’Arachel and have her reach Rennac to recruit him for free. With your main lord, he’ll ask for 9000G to hire him. If you don’t want to recruit him, at least bring Colm and steal his Member’s card so you can access the secret shop. If a unit that holds this goes to a specific suspicious tile in chapter 14AB or chapter 19, you can enter a secret shop that sells steel blades, silver and killer swords, lances, axes and bows, Physic and Barrier Staves, lockpicks and promotion items. Once you beat the game, the secret shops start selling stat boosting items.
If Ephraim or Duesell get within 2 spaces from Selena, they’ll try to convince her that what she’s doing is wrong. She knows this, but she doesn’t want to disobey her master’s orders. That’s why she’s fighting you.
1:03:10 Too slow! The bandits destroyed one of the villages. I’d replay this and get there faster. I know that bolting is dangerous, but if you have a strong unit like Seth be in that range, if he’s in a forest, he might be able to avoid all 5 strikes. Have a healer nearby in case he gets hit. This way, you make her bolting run out sooner and you can reach the villages before the bandits do.
This game is soo good! ever loses it's touch! Nice gameplay
*Never
A good way to train Ewan here is to reach the house he’s in asap, then carry him over to the rest of your team. Your strongest unit should take the enemies’ hits in front without killing them with counterattacks. You should store all that unit’s weapons so they don’t fight back. Have 2 extra fire tomes in storage and have Ewan withdraw them. While your strong unit is taking the enemies’ attacks, Ewan can safely attack them. If it all works out, you can probably get Ewan to level 10 before finishing this chapter, so that you can make him a shaman when starting the next chapter. Just make sure to buy at least 2 flux tomes in the shop vendor. Don’t forget that only Ewan can recruit Jessica here.
In chapter 10B (I use A for Eirika’s route and B for Ephraim’s route) there’s a free knight crest you can get if Duesell and all 3 green calvaliers survive. Also, recruit Duesell early and he can recruit Cormag instead of Tana recruiting him.
I think it’s better to take Eirika’s route. 2 reasons why: 1, Tana will have some equipment upon joining than having nothing in Ephraim’s route. 2, you can get a 2nd rapier for Eirika. Sadly, the first exclusive weapon for Ephraim, only 1 exists.
Ephraim’s route is more appealing to me storywise, “taking the fight to the Empire” and such. But you bring some valid points, especially the 2nd rapier for Eirika. If/when I do another run of this game, I’ll pick Eirika’s route.
In chapter 5x, Orson should do almost no fighting as he’s only with you for that chapter. Make sure before finishing the chapter, he trades everything he has between Kyle, Forde and Ephraim.
You shouldn’t really need to promote Colm, especially if you have Ross become a pirate. You only get 1 free ocean seal. If you were to promote Colm, however, he’d fight better as an assassin. Assassins can still open doors and chests with lock picks but can’t steal items from enemies, even if the enemies are slower than them.
@@tylermercado1445 Yeah, I don’t usually do things in the most optimal way. I find it somewhat funny to bring thieves/rogues into fights 😆. With both Ross and Colm needing an ocean seal, the other can use a master seal. Not the best use of resources but I never do the postgame and not doing tower in this run, so it’s not like other characters will need the items to promote.
These are what I think the best class options are for the 3 trainees: Ross: pirate, then berserker Amelia: knight, then general Ewan: shaman, then druid
@@tylermercado1445 Yeah, I usually promote Ross into a Pirate and Amelia into Knight. Though I’ve seen some people argue Cavalier is her best class. Knights have less movement than other classes while cavs have more, etc. But we don’t always have to optimize anyway, especially in an “easy” game like this one. I usually don’t train Ewan because he joins later than the others. Druid would be the path I’d choose though some people point out the potential utility of a summoner, having the summons take hits that could have killed other characters.

Excellent use of Sarah in both of these. Bow's overlooked little gem.
What gear do you have on? I have this exact setup at the stat cap (higher than when this was released), with gear that gets almost every element the boss uses to at least 35 res, yet 1-3 styles always dies on turn 2, and fully wipe on turn 3 no matter what.

Thanks for your awesome video on Auto battles. Do you think Sirius will be in your Auto team for future romancing fights ? im still deciding whether to go all in for Sirius or not.
Thanks! Well, it depends on what the bosses do and what other options I have available, but Sirius does have potential utility for multiple things. He may not be as tanky as Julian but he not only counters and buffs but also debuffs, heals the party, and his Light Wall gives guard up and removes buffs from enemies and debuffs from party. That’s a bunch of stuff he covers. I used him for autoing Spiral 220 and just autoed Abyssal Naga as well.
