But it's never too late to support the Artist! Please like and buy the song and support Grace and the producers who created such an awesome song!

    The reason she not the huge star we wanted her to be, has nothing to do with her talent. it is because she doesn’t fit into “the box” she’s not the “standard model” not a commodity like everyone else in this industry. because the music industry is a business and to put it in simple terms she’s not a good “investment” I’ve said it before she is good enough to make it on her own she doesn’t need anyone looking after her interests… instead she should be looking after them!

    She is young and has a unique style. I think her parents, rightly so, didnt let her get too big. She is definitely the best folk/soft pop singer of her generation and the last 30 years. Never heard someone who can churn out consistently moving, and catchy songs. Most artists are lucky to have one catchy memorable tune, but somehow she pumped out a dozen without breaking a sweat. She is only 19 now as it is, still very young.

    I have followed Grace since she sang cover songs on the back porch of he NY home, Grace's new song tells the story of her being thrown into the spotlight at such a young age, her performances on AGT are iconic in them selves simply because she wrote these songs from the view of a 12 yr old, her fans were kids, mothers and grand parents, she was loved as a Child star, and could have easily made top radio star but her handlers are to blame not Grace, how can any of you blame a kid who had no knowledge of the music industry and then being in a thrown into the Spot light with parents who had no way of knowing what to do, her very first inter view on the morning after she won you see the vulnerable kid and parents who were trying to get there heads around what just happened the night before, suddenly their daughter has huge demands for all these shows, late night shows morning shows, and they didn't care about her at all, they wanted ratings, and Grace was the number I money maker of the day,she wasn't even signed to Cyco yet, her world was rushing in on her and she as a kid was thinking that all these money grabbing institutions were going to show her the way, let's face the facts and not blame the kid, Olivia Rodrigo was already known by millions of people because she was a TV personality already, and Billie was going to make it no matter what because her parents are very well established in Hollywood,, they work in the industry and have a lot of pull, do you really think her song, mostly written by her brother were any better that a lot of Grace's songs, just look at that interview and daddy Dave said they were shocked, they didn't know any thing of what they were getting into, Grace is an icon, in the first place she did this on her own, she wrote all her songs with out other writers, if they would have just let her write her own songs after she won, and not thrown her into a room with adult writers who were destroying her god given abilities to write what she is thinking or experiencing, things in her next 5 years may have been different, every one was trying to put her in their box their ideas of what she should do next, Grace is a genius song writer, her handlers dropped the ball, they could have really made her a supper star but their greed came first, so stop f..king blaming the kid who grew up with adults handling her, she is and always will be a legend of AGT, no one has ever done what she has done and never will again, because two of her songs were written as the show progressed, and they are some of her best work today. Light the sky and Clay, Beautiful Thing, was written for her sister at her home in NY. and had a different title, and IDKMN, was also written before she was on AGT,, so all you Naysayers of Grace is a has in or could have done this or that is BS, Grace is going to the top anyway, she's wasn't a TV star, she didn't have parents to guide her career like Billie and Taylor, her fame was because of her, no one else, her down fall was her management's fault!!!

      I don't know who you're blaming and why. Grace hasn't been in a TV show but Disney hired her for two movies and she's going to be in Francis Ford Coppola's epic movie Metropolis later this year. Now maybe you don't see this as being successful and productive and glossed over, but I see it as many once in a lifetime happenings at the same time. Did you ever think that with the counsel of her people to let the movie happen then go for the big singing hit? Columbia isn't wrong for pacing her. She's just 18.

      The only thing I see that could have changed things drastically in her career at 12/13 was if her father had realized how big she was going to get and sold the house and move into the city where he worked to put Grace closer to the Star Makers of New York City. If he was a normal accountant or something along those lines the family could have packed up and moved to LA but being successful well to do parents they had no reason to change their lifestyle just because they had a talented daughter. They had no reason to use their daughter they way Jojo's parents did.

    You'll Get Bored is my fav Grace song, but Waste My Time was always one of my top two or three favs from Grace as well, and when that song came out, her voice just sounded better than ever before in that song. I still listen to WMT all the time. It's really sad that Lion's Den hasn't even gotten to a million views yet, seeing as Grace was getting tens of millions of views for Moonlight, but her voice has matured to being like ten times better now, and people aren't hearing it. If Grace ever dropped out of making music because of a lack of traction with her career, that would be just awful, because there's just no one else like Grace.

Most of her fans from AGT are discovering now that she even released music since Moonlight.

Maybe this great directors last movie. After that she will become 20. And who knows how she'll go forward, but she very well climb up that ladder one more rung and have her first big hit. She is very proud of the songs she did at AGT, it's when so many people made fun of those songs on her social media that like a child she tried to distance herself from the things that made people laugh at her. Ariana and Katy Perry probably has just as many haters as Grace but when you have a billion who love you it's easy to laugh off the haters. Grace doesn't have a billion patting her on the back. If anyone on Tiktok ever did a video mocking Ariana like the videos they did of Grace millions of Ariana fans would storm that persons video, Grace doesn't have that kind of support to shut down those people.

    I do agree wit you wrote my friend. But another artists released Cd EP LP right after the Covid craziness. But under the lock up they were practicing hours daily or made those records during that time. And some of them finished high school as Grace did and still could take time to sitting in front of their comp. And made life streaming. Laziness is worst than any virus. But again it’s not 100% true. Because she did spend hours talking about mental illness but always navigated her answers about releasing something. And about those engineers and producers waiting eagerly it was a reality three yrs ago. But she lost almost all her fans especially the young ones, who would go to see and hear her concert and they are called “ paying costumers” about her label, what would you accept from Simon Cowells company? In those yrs he is running those shows, only two could go to world fame. Jennifer Hudson, and Kelly Clarkson. Different shows but run by the same man. I was trying to push her years ago, to change genre, go rock the shit out of any audience, because she could! But as I said fans are very important for any artists, and if you loose them, it’s harder to get/them back than start a car without gasoline in the tank. And not pushing radio time, are you kidding? Every radio station have at least three music expert, whom are probably older musicians. And what do you think they would say about an EP which was released yrs ago? Garbage can! So, we can not push the blame on her label, she is more ways to blame than her label. She is known as a frugal person, so does that say anything about her want to be wolrld famous? And she probably has hundreds of songs written but didn’t release any! All labels are working on really fucking tight budget, so if she would be willing to invest some of her money, do you really think that they would say “ those songs are not good enough “? As much we can blame her label the same amount we can blame on her!

Most of the "fans" that Grace lost were intolerant people that didn't like the fact that Grace grew up and likes to experiment with different styles that they consider to not be "normal", especially for a girl. I believe that in a comment, Grace had said that the label didn't push radio air time because those who were managing her career wanted her, as well as her parents, wanted her to have the experience of growing into adulthood in a reasonably normal and well adjusted manor, which they accomplished. Also remember that Covid had shut everything down for two years, which represented, time wise, a third of her whole career. A period in which everything was on hold. Considering that she has top level musicians, audio producers and engineers eagerly willing to work with her is an indication of her status as a singer/song writer. At the upper echelon of the industry, Grace has achieved icon status, and there is no sign that is going away. It would be a pretty good bet that the industry has their sight on Grace to become the the icon of her generation. That, I think, will happen soon, but to paraphrase Grace, their is fan soon, Grace soon and label soon, and each has there own time scale.

    • @Calers-gu1ib
      @Calers-gu1ib 2 роки тому

      I sorta believe that contention that they agreed with the VanderWaals not to disrupt Grace's growing up process but the amount of fame she already had by that time her chances of having a normal growth period was impossible. If Grace would have produced a real impossible to ignore hit song on JTB they would've had no choice but to promote it and she would have been in just as much demand as Billie and Olivia Rodrigo was. But as it was JTB only showed them that her future is going to be great but it also showed they had time to wait and let her learn her trade. It appears by some lawsuits from the early Rock era it was illegal to bribe DJs into playing songs on the radio but today it appears the big record companies put out millions for promotion and radio stns have whole days worth of music preplanned and if Sony wanted Grace's songs on the radio they would be on the radio. The days of local garage bands getting air time on local radio stns are long gone. In 10 years Grace could be as big as Taylor is now and if God wills it and we are still here we can laugh at a video like this one

    • @thebeanpot-
      @thebeanpot- 2 роки тому

      @@Calers-gu1ib From what i remember, it was Sony that did not push radio airtime, most likely for the reasons you have stated--this was Grace's training time. I don't really know much about the marketing strategies of today's entertainment industry, but it is in a state of rapid change with the maturation of the internet, making radio rather a local medium for furniture store advertisement and school board election campaigns. Even Sony is having a challenge trying to get their heads around it, and they are one of the largest label/distributors. How things shake out in the future will be interesting to watch. Perhaps all this chaos in the music industry has got Grace thinking more about acting. So far this is where the big money has been to fill her bank account. Modeling and endorsements as well. And audio production which she said she wants to get into at the professional level. If you compare Swift at 18 with Vanderwaal at 18, Grace is miles and miles ahead of her. It looks like Grace's career curve will keep well ahead of Swifts success as time goes on, barring world wars and nuclear conflagrations. I never did like the Taylor Swift comparison, but it's part of the history.

      Sorry, I can't buy into the theory that Sony wouldn't "buy" airtime for an artist at the beginning of their career to wait five years for them to "grow up." Grace had it (almost) all in the beginning: Best New Artist, a ukulele deal with Fender, inside track with Simon Cowell, then,,,nothing. Record companies are in the business for one thing: return on investment. If they didn't think what Grace was producing was salable, at the very least they could have supported what she was making, but did not. At all. As a result, the effect is that Grace has to start from Ground Zero which is nigh impossible. Whether it was the fault of a mismanagement, Grace's fragile ego or outside influence (Olivia), her parents, or just not knowing how to develop her talent by a team who should have known how to, it's unfortunate that her career has suffered for nigh on to four years. If that's what she wanted. The disaster at Interlochen was unfortunate at best. Maybe when Grace writes her memoirs we'll find out why it was so traumatic. (I have my own opinions but best kept to myself.) At least she did get a HS degree this year. I would like to think she is in the "upper echelon" of the music industry, but ...realistically (and you know this) she's not. She's not even in the lower echelon. Ask 100 people on the street who Grace Vanderwall is and 99 will say "who is Grace Vanderwaal?" Of course she's a fan favorite, who wouldn't be if they started from the beginning? But these days? Not so much.

    • @Calers-gu1ib
      @Calers-gu1ib 2 роки тому

      @@rogerpyle1359 every right to that opinion and I don't believe she received any awards or trophies from CYCO or Sony/Columbia. As far as I'm concerned Grace's career was screwed right from the start because Simon wanted to take advantage of her popularity and got PP out as soon as he could instead of releasing the slowed down album version of Beautiful Thing with high promotion in Dec '16. Sometime in March '17 Gossip Girl which is still a popular song with kids should have been released with the rightful amount of promotion.Then release Moonlight by June, SMMTT in Sept. If they would have spent more time on developing Darkness Keeps Chasing Me so that it wasn't so depressing that should have been the release in time for the Nov album release. She could have had one after another for a whole year straight but no and everyone forgot she existed for the next 4 years. Start off 2018 with Better Life. If PP pulled in millions like Simon thought it would then Grace's education plans might have changed drastically. Who knows, Grace hands Dad a million, Dad retires and moves the family to LA where Grace goes to special private school that all the top stars sends their kids to. As far as I'm concerned none of her releases were done right all the way up to Repeat/ DAWYDK. Hideaway should have been a single and other 2020 songs were better than Repeat and DAWYDK.
