Hi. I have a plc logo 8. And an indicator panel for parking. The panel accept only rs485. The only way to communicate logo plc, with an rs485 module, is using this serial converter IO ?? The question is, from enternet to rs485 is necessary this module yes?

Yes it is. You can send counter value from logo plc to s7-1200. it can put the count value into "Parameter VM Mapping". You can find it on the manue toolbar - Tools > Parameter VM Mapping I hope it will help you :)

Jimmy, Thank you for the very clean explanation on connecting 2 plc's together. Is this better than the GET/PUT method ? and can you connect 3 or more PLC's together using this method or is it limited to 2 PLC's ?
Good Question. IO Device method is easier than the GET/PUT method. but, IO Device could spent process image(I/O address area). S7-1200 has 1 kbyte capacity of input and output address area. So, if you want connect many I/O address area(e.g Digital&Analog in-output) then you could not use many IO Device address . And, You can connect 3 or more PLC's together with IO Device method and GET/PUT method can connect 8 PLC's for S7-1200. :)
@Jimmy PLC can i use the exact same method with same result on serial connection like profibus aswel? Another question is why do some use PN/PN coupler if a direct ethernet cable can be connected like in your example?
@@genantamtam9364 of course you can use it with Profibus. but s7-1200 has no Profibus DP interface. so, you have to put Profibus DP card(Master and Slave). And I don’t know why they use PN/PN coupler with same network.
@@jimmyplc7613 thanks for the answer. New subscriber to your channel by the way, there is a hardware called PN/MF coupler and you can use that to communicate between siemens and Allenbradley systems, its easier than CIP, can you make a video about it?
Have you already do with s71200 instead of logo PLC? And have tried with more slaves on RTU protocol?
s7 1200 PLC can using Ethernet to Serial converter with RTU slaves protocol.

Is it possible to have more than 8 Logo PLC's each with their own duplicate program and unique IP addresses, connecting to the S7-1200 using your method ?
You can connect 12 Logo PLC with the S7-1200 using this method.

I notice that you use position zero and four, assigning the analog input to vw4 and the analog output vw0 to the network input v7.0 v7.1 v7.2. In case you have VW2O and VW18, how do I configure the vX.0 network port?
