Most likely locked mate with low range assist

@ is that a standard feature in the Terios? Locked front and rear + low range? I’m looking to by one, in the next few days.

@MrRygaard89 no low range no lockers except for a gearbox lock that changes gears from 70 /30 power to wheels to 50/50 .

I use stock everything on my cars basically . Gear ratios I'm still looking into myself . I now prefer an auto after testing it at a 4wd park this weekend .

​@@teriosoffroadaustralia No suspension spacers? I suppose those small guards look pretty easy to fill. Is that because you can left foot brake to gain more traction from a standing start or does the 'crawl' seem to be better?

My first 2 terios were manual and the clutch would not last long with where we go and what we do. The auto gives more control with conditions which include crawling and any other situation I can think of

@@teriosoffroadaustralia I'll bet the auto can be beefed up a fair bit too and will be less aggressive on gear exchanges - less chance of CV breakage in rough stuff

@mechtechau I'm looking into beefing up the auto ATM. So far it's about $1600 AU to upgrade internals.

We have been looking into that idea for the last 12 months . That exact supercharger as well ... nice choice

They are not to bad on fuel if you keep them stock , they have about a 40 ltr tank in them (roughly) . My red terios uses less fuel than my silver one due to heavier and bigger tyres . Manuals are better on fuel but autos are better off-road.

We will be using original gearbox and changing transfer case with reduction gears . I know you can get diff locks from overseas but I would be careful where you order it from. Last one I looked at was about $1800 just for rear locker. Unsure what currency exchange is involved. Thankyou for watching our videos 🤙🤙

Yes it's a shame terios did not come out with low range. I think they would be a lot more popular if they did

No open diffs with a central gearbox lock. We very rarely use it but.

Lock mechanism in gearbox only . Standard driving is 70 %power to front and 30 % to the back. Using lock gives you 50/50 front and back , I've found I only use it every so offen ( big rutts mainly) not good to use turning forward or reverse .

Yeh really sorry mate I'd rather wait till we have better footage , I can't see many wanting to see us just welding up bits and pieces. We are at the point now where I feel it will be more interesting and a better watch for you guys . Good luck with your project there's a lot involved so prepare yourself .

In Australia they only came out as 4x4 . Best models are over the year 2000 as toyota took over design and I feel made them better. Other countries they came in 2 x 4 or 4 x 4 with different names like kembara, toyota cami etc. They are a good little off-road vehical but lacks low range unfortunately. They do have limits off-road and will break if overloaded. With our videos we tend to break a few things time to time . 😁

I think the automatic are better off-road as well.

3 straps all rated 3 times all cars combined . No blunt force pulls just 2 one ton cars taking up the tension to help him out. His truck done the hard job . I didn't see it as an issue . I see your point don't get me wrong , also there is a tree right beside me . I felt comfortable being where I filmed it

I think you will find the zoom on camera shows it closer than it actually was
