I'm getting ready ride the whole Trace from Pasquo, TN on Wednesday morning. Can we drive the whole 444 miles before dark?
Sorry I'm just now seeing this. I think you can ride it all in one day but you'll miss a lot of historical sights. I hope y'all had a good and safe trip
i was there just before they put the fencing up on the bridge.
Wow they’ve added fence and barbed wire to the bridge since my last trip there. That definitely spoils the look and feel of that bridge. I wonder what happened to prompt them to do that.
Hey Ryan, my name is Mike. A couple of friends and myself want to ride the trace. I was wondering if there are and decent Motels just off the Trace on the way to Mississippi.? Also any old town sightseeing along the way? We will be headed down from Central N.Y.
There are plenty of places to stay. The trace goes just outside of large cities in Mississippi and you can find food and lodging. The noth end in TN as less places.
Asfar as small towns to go to im not sure. This was my first trip on the trace. I would like to go agin and do more.
Also one tip. Call the trace office and see if there are any road closeures. They were paveing when we went and had a dig detour.
Collinwood, Tennessee is a nice small town for a pit stop. Make sure to get off the trace and check out Muscle Shoals in Alabama. Tupelo and Port Gibson are the only towns that come to mind off the Trace in Mississippi worth checking out that I can think of. You can venture off the Trace a bit into Vicksburg. Natchez the town is a nice Southern small town.
We rode it this past weekend from Natchez to Tupelo. Very peaceful ride, lots of places to stop and see historic sites. I would love to go back and ride the northern side of the Trace.
