Avoiding addiction behaviors does not make the problem go away. We need to understand what caused the behavior to begin with. It is a way to relieve the pain and suffering that stems from childhood trauma. Understanding this is the first step, and very liberating. Find the pain, and relive and release it. Accept it is there and know that we don't need to use to cover it up. "Knowing IS half the battle."
