How to CNC Drill Holes in Alumiminum Extrusion (8020) with Shapeoko 4 Pro

I have found this much more consistent and easier of a technique than hand drilling or with a drill press. Once you get it setup the process is straight forward and automated.

LattePanda Delta 3 Performance And Review
Переглядів 691Рік тому
I recently wanted to use the new LattePanda Delta 3 single board computer with Windows 10 IOT preloaded. This is the fastest and best model they currently offer. Unfortunately the tests were not promising as it took a very long time to load most simple programs and was unable to cleanly stream a video even though the Internet speed was of high-quality. It also struggled to play a 1080 video I h...

Raspberry Pi Pico USB Arrow Keyboard Example

Using microcontrollers to create USB devices can be a really great tool. They are plug and play plus can be configured in infinite ways compared to buying a mass produced keyboard. In the past I have used the Arduino Uno/Leonardo microcontrollers to do this. However, it was a bit difficult to upload and the were bulky in comparison to the keys themselves and the chip that did the work. Enter th...
Walking Around a Holographic Projection Mapping Screen

While conducting some tests for a "hologram" like effect for an upcoming event with my company, Lumenarius, I recorded some video of what a static test pattern looks like. Overall the screen performed very well though some tests will be needed to determine how best to mitigate the spill over projection on the ground. Casey Scalf - Interactive Moving Head Lights - Microphone Audio

Sound Reactive The next example extends the previous but instead of having the hands control the light position we have a microphone do this. This works by mapping the intensity of individual frequencies to the tilt value of the moving head lights such that when noise is picked up the lights move upwards like an EQ visualizer. Playing music and isolating the bass, clapping hands, or even choppi...

    Hey Casey, Just discovering your content, Great Video by the way! What is the best way to get in touch with you offline? I am a big mad mapper user especially with lighting which i know is a weird thing to say considering most people know it for projection mapping. I am looking to program an arduino to take in artnet and be able to control up desk legs which i have rigged as motors for a suspended camera system. That whole motor/camera project was actually just a test i did for a bigger, larger qty project i am planning but can't share yet publicly. Anyway would love to connect and go over some ideas, i have a computer science background so i think i can execute this pretty quickly but getting pointed in the correct direction would be very valuable to me as well. thanks so much!

      I have the shapeoko 4 xxl and a shapeoko 5pro, I did a bunch of research into all the hobbiest cnc machines and while the shapeoko wasn't the best overall they have and excellent product and their warranty system is top notch. They've never let me down when it comes to service for parts and have always answered my emails within 24 hours or sooner.

      My order has been canceled. I'm a bit passed off and happy at the same time because after I ordered the shapeoko I became aware of Onefinity and its bearings instead of belts. And the 1 hour set up time. So yesterday I got a call from Fed Ex telling me that my order had been selected and I would be charged Customs Tax since I'm in Canada and it would cost me an extra $360. She told me that most orders aren't charged but occasionally an order will be charged customs tax. It's ridiculous, I told her. Why only some orders? So anyway I said I'm not paying and to cancel my order. So now I'm getting the Onefinity X50. Maybe it was meant to be.

    • @PhoenixCustomsWoodworking
      @PhoenixCustomsWoodworking Рік тому

      @@JCIK2311 The onefinity is a great machine, but I decided against their machine because I feel as though they are nickel and diming you for every option. While yes the previous machines such as the Shapaoko 4 use belts, the Shapeoko 5 is solid ball screws and is on par with the onefinity. The trade off with ball screws while it creates a very ridged and accurate machine, they are way louder than a belt machine. There are trade offs with every machine type out there. Good luck with your purchase.

    Epson projector are built so badly in regards of keeping dust out! In a normal home you get dust specks on rhe lens or mirrors within 3years! Also why they rely on loud fans for lamp cooling instead of LED COB that can be cooled with a much quieter closed loop radiotor like a PC is strange.. The fragile transparent screen door connected to the light house assembly lid in this video is a LCD panel that blocks light making light not pass through certain pixels. The three Texas Instrument panels in the back of the lens assembly with the three ribbon cables are the RGB LCD panels gicing you the color. He cleaned the colored panels way too aggressively in the video, I think you should clean them with the same brush you clean a mirrorless dSLR LCD panel with. I would guess all 4 LCD panels need precice alignment, It's stupid or neglect of Epson not to have adjustment screws for each panel, I think they're just glued in there..

    Hi Casey, thank you very much for this extremely informative vid. I found an Epson EH-TW5500 at the dump yesterday and plan to try and fix it. Everything runs smoothly up until the EPSON logo disappears to make way for the menu etc. Unfortunately no menu or any kind of picture is projected at all.... Just dim light. And no flashing led warning lights. I'm thinking a main board problem and will use your vid to guild me through getting it out. I thought I might try a reflow. Plus I noticed 2 specs of dust on the lens being projected so I'll tackle a dust removal job hopefully if I get it working :) Thanks again mate! Anthony

    Casey. Good job, but do you do all of your repairs by hand? By that I mean screw by hand? If so, you'll end up with carpal tunnel. You really should use electric screwdrivers where possible. You can get some good low torque ones now. I didn't realise there was so much inside a projector too.
