Climbed Mt Blanc on Ski via the Grand Mulets refuge over two days. 2/3 June 2009. Started from the hut at 2.30am and ended up being the only people on the route. We took Christophe Rezette (from Samoëns) as our guide www.guides-alpes.fr/ Photos and maps here www.flickr.com/photos/endlessride/albums/72157619168426741

Jacques and Molly skiing on the Pleney at Morzine, end of February 2007
Just bought same Hot Bin but have that shredder for a few years now. I’m all set it seems. Two compost heaps as you say, take years to breakdown. Exactly the same as your predicament. 😀
3 years in and it is still going strong. It is degrading a little in the sun (it's in a very sunny spot), but otherwise working fine.
We never did see the update!
Sorry but people like this lady absolutely dont belong there its clearly way above her limits!
70 year old Lady Collum almost got u all 3 killed. Why would you even bring someone like that to such a risky climb
That's not really how it felt to us. I guess that when you are climbing, you have to accept a higher level of risk. You use your skills and equipment to mitigate it as far as you can. I think that if Lady C happened to be a very large man then things would have been different. As it is, she is very light and easy to stop. I did discuss this with the guide. He pointed out that plenty of the guides that work that area are asked to look after people of all shapes and sizes that they have only met a very minutes before. That was not the case for us. I had hiked with Lady C for days/weeks before, a trip like that can happen to anyone.
Impressed by how extremely calm you were. Especially as the fall at 3.06 without the guide would have been fatal...
3:09 It was this moment she knew. She fucked up.
Why do people do this shit lol
That looks like a fucking stupid place for a walk..you might as well walk on a balcony on the top floor of a skyscraper, just as fucking stupid
Absolutely no fucking chance.
OH, HELL NO!!!!
Stupid namoW
why are people walking on the knife edge of a cliff both sides makes no sense
So the insurance pays out.🙃
To get on a glacier! Eheh
Luckily when I was there in 2017, they had a gate up that the climbers had to climb over, but no idiot tourist was allowed into the tunnel, or the opening. Tourists are like rats up there and they need to stay the hell out of peoples way who are capable individuals. hell, even trying to take the tram back down was insane with people not being able to comprehend when they should show up to get the tram corresponding to the ticket they were given. Having to literally shove your way through the imbeciles was necessary.
Looking on the bright side, the tourists do mean we have these facilities that give quick access into the high mountain, because without them we'd have to deal with a very long walk!
So much for making the outdoors accessible and open to more people...
Are you a mountaineer?
@@PSPmaster321 I call myself a climber. A Mountaineer where I live is a group of people I'd rather not be associated with. I enjoyed Chamonix and the Alps. September was such a different experience over August. September was quiet and the entire town was much more enjoyable, same for being up on the mountains.
@@richardjohnson4696 You say you'd rather not associate with mountaineers, yet ironically your bitter and arrogant attitude is the exact thing I would never want to associate with. Calling tourists rats?? Come on... Granted there are some idiots but I think it's incredible that we have such a lift in Chamonix and it brings me genuine joy seeing tourists so excited, in awe of the mountains, and expressing an interest in mountaineering... something that we take more for granted. Your judgemental attitude is exactly what we need less of in the outdoor community.
Excellent informative video
love that bit 0:53 hahahah I was talking about you buddy
🦉 Merci Jean Luc amitié
Oh je connais. C'est beau..
She should not be endangering the lives of her guides and should not be on that arete.
Was about to say the same thing. I find it somewhat selfish.
everybody can trip you know
@@Gianni_87 That's why they have rope.
Haha! Awesome work Gareth! Great song choice too!

Great. Did this walk about 15 years ago. Brings it back with a bang. When I did it , it was a bit windier. I can't now believe how reckless I was. Lives in my memory as quite scarey. If anyone's thinking of doing it, choose your day carefully, and ideally don't do it alone. Nice one!
hm :D nice legs and good vitality for an 70 years old woman :). Great vid, thanks
Sweet video. beautiful views and little bit of drama mixed in.
Really nice video, brings back memories, what helmet camera are you using?
nice video!
Nice catch ha ha
Hey guys... can you send me a copy of the map for this route? Got a trip planned to Samoens in September, and would love to ride this route (on a hardtail?). Hope to hear from you!
