Thebe Magugu Live Set: A Tribute to Teko Magugu
Our Creative Director Thebetsile 'Thebe' Magugu plays a set dedicated to Teko Magugu:
"Ive dedicated my first set to “Teko’s Tavern”, which was the garage my uncle Teko converted into a tavern in Galeshewe, the township I am from. I was responsible the CD’s - shoutout Windows Media Player - and remember playing Kentphonik's “Say It Right”, which is included in this set, and DJ Cleo’s Es’khaleni Phase 4. Seeing everyone dance after their days was such a joy, and Teko's Tavern became a meeting point for long-lasting friendships.I like this idea of taking the house* of then and mixing with the gqom* of now - they make sense, because both are so progressive"
