@@kilowattgamefowl1134 actually no , just ethiopian hydraphane opal.. ive only seen a few of this pattern, mostly just a couple rings, but never a full pattern like this..

@LaSierraAcresQuailFarm what he had look the same as opal. He never did say it was . He has passed on. Never could find out where they went. They were the size of a 50 cent peace 1/2 thick. Someone got lucky , who ever has them now. 🤑

@@patriciajellison4343 with proper care, the treatment will last more than a lifetime and isnt an issue unless you are exposing it to chemicals that will unbond the treatment..

hydraphane ethiopian is very stable and is just as durable as australian opal.. it really needs to go thru several wet and drying tests to find out any cracks it could be hiding, but once that is done and it hasent cracked at that point, then they are pretty durable, as far as opals go.. really the only downside to ethiopian hydraphane opals, is they can absorb liquids, which can cause discoloration and yes they can loose their fire... but this can be resolved by an acetone soak and dry. sometimes it takes several cycles to leach out anything that was absorbed, and this will bring back the fire to its previous state ...

@@johndanenberg217 you obviously are not experienced with ethiopian opals. that dosent happen .. maybe you are thinking of specimin grade, not gem grade

@@LaSierraAcresQuailFarm you should do more research on the absorbency of Ethiopian opals it can and will happen if you aren't overly carefull.
