Good tunes. Kudos to the musicians.
Nice sound and tempo, but weak technique among some players.
Where are the dancers?!
Beautiful 1920s sound!
Обожаю музыку 30-40 х. Она настоящая и человечная!
This must have been a huge hit for the ballrooms of the 1930s. Thanks for giving us a little taste of that.
Fine band. Tell your mixer to welcome the tuba/bass into the mix.
well, sadly, when only using an iPhone to film ourselves does not allow for me to close Mic and mix later.
Love it.
Very good but the sound does not carry well. Love the 20's-40's music. I want to dance . . .the Charleston NOW!!!!!
Are you listening on a phone or on a home computer with speakers? The sound of the band itself carries very well, it's the lack of reduced dynamic range of the on board Mic on the iPhone that recorded this that makes the sound quality less than what an actual live performance sounded like.
@@blackbirdsocietyorchestra8471 I use headphones plugged to my PC. PC speakers are too small and deliver very bad sound!
Stupenda melodia che meraviglia questa si che e' musica Finalmente qualcuno che ci fa sognare Semplicemente Braviiiiiiiii ......lory da Torino
Thank you !!
What an incredible performance.
Your music is adds a fitting ambience to such a lovely backdrop.
A great sound from a great orchestra!
Love it
So cute
Today is my aunt and uncle’s 73rd wedding anniversary. My aunt remembered my grandma playing this song when my aunt was a little girl. She will be 94 this fall! Thanks for posting this.
Glad to hear this song brought back some happy memories !
Enjoyed that....Rosa Larsen
An enjoyable band of musicians....Rosa Larsen
Very Jolly....Rosa Larsen
Great tune and interpretation!
Don't need feathers and outfits to make a Great band Ferko is one of the best is one of the best
This was great!!!!
I'm 25 and I love 1920's jazz very much. It's actually the love of my life, quite frankly. I've played alto saxophone for 12 years and clarinet for 7 years because of the mere existence this music. Sadly, almost no one understands my love of it, and many of the musicians in my area don't improvise. As a result, it's also hard for me to perform it. Seeing bands like this still active today gives me more hope for another traditional jazz revival.
Stick with it ! One day it will just come together . Where are you from?
@@blackbirdsocietyorchestra8471 thank you!!! I am from East Tennessee.
That's refreshing to hear ❤️
This makes me envision a full dance floor of happy couples.
Wow! This is this best video yet from another superb performance by the "Blackbird Society Orchestra". You guys really nailed it once again and make the viewer feel like we are watching a performance from 100 years ago. Another brilliant guitar and vocal Richard and it sounds like you guys have been playing together forever. Hopefully somemore video's like this one for the future as It's great to see your live performances up so close. Keep up the great work guys!
Very good
Beautiful production!
It is isn't it? They did an amazing job !
Yessir, and the Joseph A. Ferko String Band playing some songs right after the mayors speech. Good memories.
So happy to see that you are keeping the music of Leroy Shields alive. Thanks
Sure ain't Clutch, but I kinda like it!
I'll take "kinda" like it !....but who/what is Clutch ?
I always look forward to seeing one of your new videos. This is such wonderful music. I'm glad you keep these sounds alive.
Beautiful Sound ♥️🤩🎼
What a delightful song the sound this band puts out is amazing 🤩
I just found you guys , what a wonderful sound ❤️👏🏻🎶
Thank you for the kind words !
What a beautiful song and who is this wonderful guy leading the band , he’s got such a natural rhythm and showmanship.
MUY BUEN CONJUNTO.-FELICITACIONES.-SALUDOS DESDE''BUENOS AIRES-ARGENTINA''.-
I enjoy the warm swing of an old song. Thanks for everything.
This is an amazing chart, written for a larger , maybe 15 pc band, but sounds so great stripped down to only 7 pcs !
Awesome!!!
There's something about this music that I enjoy so much. Thanks for the new videos.
Sounds fantastic!
Happy to see a new video. Richard, you are looking sharp. Love the shoes! I almost expected you to break out in a little dance.
Sorry this clip ended before Charlotte Greenwood appeared for the duet segment!
Great!
magnificent
Richard, how did you become interested in retro jazz?
In 1992 some friends of mine were going to see Leon Redbone and asked me to go. I had "heard of him" only through the Budweiser commercials and maybe SNL , but that was it. Right from the first song I knew that this was the type of music for me. I joined a small band that played 20s jazz, then Ironically became friends with Leon and played with him off and on for 10 years, and then formed my band in 1997
@@blackbirdsocietyorchestra8471 Wow! I had no idea. That was a cool story. I've always loved Leon Red Bone, who always seemed to stay in character.
@@knottreel well, that wasn't a "character" as everyone ( even myself ) thought. THAT was Leon - 24 hours a day
@@blackbirdsocietyorchestra8471 That's so amazing to me. He was such a colorful character.
This is priceless. ha ha!
Richard, Glad you are letting us hear more of your singing voice in a solo. You have a great sound.
Thank you , it was fun to do but my singing voice was suffering due to a mild throat cold and a sub par sound system. I'll be uploading a new video or 2 of the band from last night soon....stay tuned
you really got the sound, liked it very much
