Peregrine Falcon parents train chicks after they leave the nest：巣立ちしたハヤブサの雛を鍛える親鳥
Seven weeks after hatching, the two chicks have finally left the nest.
孵化後7週間経ち、2羽の雛は遂に巣立ちました。
One of the two chicks can fly quite well, but the other, which left the nest later, is still unable to fly well. So, for the chick that was not yet good at flying, the father tried to lure it out with prey, saying, "Fly and chase me!"
2羽の雛のうち、1羽はかなり飛べるのですが、巣立ちが遅れたもう1羽はまだ上手く飛べません。
そこで、まだ上手く飛べない雛に対しては「飛んで追いかけて来い！」と父親が獲物で雛を誘いだそうとしていました。
Meanwhile, for the chick that could already fly, the father pretended to fly away with prey to attract it as much as possible, and tried to increase the distance it could fly.
一方、既に飛べる雛に対して、父親は獲物を持って飛び去る素振りを見せて雛をできるだけ引き付け、雛が飛べる距離を伸ばすように工夫していました。
As I watched each of the chicks grow, I was impressed by how the father bird was patiently and strict in providing them with the appropriate education and training.
それぞれの雛の成長具合を見ながら、父鳥は辛抱強く厳しくも適切な教育と訓練を施しているのだなと私は感心しました。
