Born in Kolkata, Sangeeta Majumder, a Kathak exponent, is based in New Delhi, India. She's the Founder of 'Strings 'N' Steps Academy of Performing Arts & Festivals'. She's famous for performing and conducting the maximum number of Kathak concerts and workshops in Argentina.
Formerly a student at Pandit Birju Maharaj's ‘KALASHRAM’ academy, Pandit Rammohan Maharaj & Deepak Maharaj, Sangeeta has represented India in Spain, United Kingdom, Argentina, Hungary, Romania, UAE, Nepal, Slovakia, Netherlands, Austria, Germany, France, Switzerland and so on.
She is the pioneer of 'Strings N Steps' which is the first of its kind to amalgamate Hawaiian guitar with Kathak. She teaches her students in India and abroad.
The winner of 'UP Sangeet Natak Academy Competition she was also felicitated by Pandit Birju Maharaj & awarded by ‘Roll of Honour’ from Govt. College for Girls Punjabi University, Patiala.She is pursuing her research work in Indian Classical Dance. www.sangeetamajumder.com
