About Ross Eves Golf
Ross Eves Golf is all about improving your golf. From golf fitness, to golf biomechanics to beginner’s golf tips!
So, what’s my background?
Well, as most professional golfers my dream was to play professionally. However, that dream was a little lofty for someone with my talent. So, I decided to take a different route. This route was to investigate the science behind getting better, specially how to hit the ball further! After all, who doesn’t want to hit the ball further.
This desire to learn how to increase swing speed lead me to investigate the body in terms of golf fitness and golf biomechanics. This interest in golf fitness lead me to complete TPI Level 1 and 2; become a qualified massage therapist and then extend that knowledge by completing a Masters degree.
During my Masters, I focused my research solely on increasing club head speed through golf fitness interventions. This line of scientific enquiry provided me with first evidence and golf fitness routines which would increase swing speed and hence increase club head speed. Personally, I found this research to be extremely helpful, and I increased club head speed by 15mph (from 100mph to 115mph) within 1 year.
After this I have turned my attention to the biomechanics of the golf swing. This combination of golf biomechanics and golf fitness knowledge allows me to provide coaching to all levels to help increase club head speed.

Swoosh ❤
Nice tip!
I had no idea Gankas worked with Adam. Interesting.
Sometimes you hear to drive the right elbow down and under the left (as Brooks demonstrates hear) while a lot of the current theory (AMG, Sean Foley) is to simply lower and straighten the right arm from the top (bicep curl move) and let rotation bring the club around.
not many of us are that size and strength...it's not a swing that average Joe can copy...but there's a lot of good things we all can do with force shifting and getting that force back to the left side...he's having an amazing season .
Great swing 😊
He’s not even remotely early extending. The only reason he moved off the line is that his entire body moved forward. But his hips stayed back.
*hooks it*
Here because I weakened my grip and noticed my early extension was gone, this explains the science of it, other comment is nonsense
AWESOME
Is this the one where he practices dumping his wife ala TW?
It's not his swing. Its is head game.
You have the ability to know what is in the head of someone you've never met?
@@igolffff He is a winner in his head. All the Champs have it. A swing is crap if they don't have the mental tools.
No difference
Yes, there is no straightening of his left wrist
Truly adore this swing. Sort of old school: wide and long with a late wrist set like Tiger in his young days. Combined with modern tech -very powerful. He looks really tall but he's only 5ft11.
Wrong!
Um did you not watch the final round?
@@garrymack he's not working on setting up open or a wider takeaway is what I meant he set up open to hit a fade on that particular hole and he's working on relaxing the right arm and setting the club earlier
@fredster1449 you're saying his got to off the tee is a draw still then.
@@garrymack well I would have thought so mate
@@garrymackcorrect
Hogan did this as well.
Nice analysis with helpful graphics - many thanks.
Babba Watson is far more better than this sucker.and he has a big mouth too!
A tough game 0:31
Just you bud.
Just you. I rage
Just you
I think that’s just you
Nice Hat 😊
...his arms hang straight down when hitting irons.
It does for me ,but not just as long as you
Hey Ross, I just watched your video and I must say that it was really informative and well-made. I was wondering if I could help you edit your videos and repurpose your long videos into highly engaging shorts? I can also make high CTR thumbnails for your channel
can you send me your details?
Really? You couldn’t spell his name?
😂😂😂😂😂
I need to fix that. I really don’t know how I’ve got 3 degrees and can’t spell
Your definition of early extension is a variant… not consistent… great analysis though
Great video and analysis. I've always suspected that these analysts are conflating early extension with lack of rotation. One does not mean the other in all cases. Just because your tush comes off the line does not mean that you have not rotated your hips clear out of the way. Just got to make sure that those hips clear enough to allow the arms to swing through without any hindrance. Who cares if your butt comes off its line just a few inches.
Old Pro here, long retired. Excellent video, dispelling more myths promoted by UA-cam pros telling everyone that they need to force their bodies into positions that only the very fit can get into, like Will Zalatoris!! As you say, Nicklaus early extended as did 5ft 4in Ian Woosnam. You could even add Scottie Scheffler, very little side-bend at impact with Scottie though I would not recommend his follow-through to the average golfer.
8:25 Look at that butt!
Has to be one of the most efficient swings in the men’s game.
how does one start to learn this move?
Awesome review!!
although he is moving his trail arm to the inside, anatomically he is still externally not internally rotating in his shoulder - like everybody
Tiger comparison, nahhhhhh!
Great analysis. Would you be able to breakdown Tiger’s 2000 driver swing?
First comment here
He’s so extended in his lead wrist because of how crazy strong his left hand is. This is pretty important to note since his clubface is still square in the downswing. He’s not releasing it more than others on tour he just has a stronger grip
Right. The guy said slightly strong left hand and I thought - are we watching the same video?
If Lee Trevino was tall with a square stance, his swing would look a lot like this.
Nonsense, strong grip does not push the lead shoulder forward. Strong grip involves only the radius rotating over the ulna , no impact on shoulder .
That's great, but he's a leftie.😂
That was litterally the whole point of this video to show his swing mirrored
New approach, will try, I have a HackMotion.
Shut up😊
Mate how r u meant to grip the golf club like that
And somehow there's another video out there that says that his secret move is lifting his left toe to trigger his take away 🤣
Right elbow straight at left arm parallel, wow. Just a gift of youth
Excellent analysis. I have been analysing swings for 55 years, Min Woo's swing is quite new and different though there are some similarities with Wilco Nienaber and one or two others. One point that you may have missed is that Min Woo's downswing starts with his hands moving the grip down almost in a straight line (seen from the front) while holding the club in a laid off position for the first two feet (the club is not in the swing plane of the hands). The advantage is that there is very little centrifugal effect so release is delayed while the club accelerates. I believe that this is how a slim, not very muscular young man can generate such speed. It does require a lot of training and flexibility, difficult for older players. Bryson also delays the centrifugal release to an extreme.
Wow this is crazy because I’ve been messing with that “feel” of bringing my left arm straight through contact. It’s surprisingly consistent!! I feel like my arm and hand is a chainsaw (violent) ripping through the ground to the target
Not sure what you meant by him 'early extending'... he stays in his posture just fine....
