i remember going up to him after a gig in hamburg just to thank him for an amazing night.. he didn´t even react ... just because berghain / panorama bar didn´t like his nye set there, it doesn´t mean that the whole of germany is like that. great producer and dj of course. i am a vinyl dj since my youth for 30 years and play on a regional level because although i am also a drummer for the same time, i never produced tracks just to get more booking requests and i knew i was not nearly on the level of production like i am in djing. some are equally great in production , like him but it felt wrong to just start making mediocre tracks in order to do what i wanted and that was djing. drumming has made me start djing on an advanced level because of knowledge and feeling for rhythm that enabled me to mix different genres and rhythms from an early point. . but it does not get a foot in bigger bookings.i am not bitter about that because i do it for the fun and love for it. oh and lets be cleae: techno came from several global locations . of course detroit, chicago but come on. kraftwerk did their switch to pure minimal electro in 79. the uk had synth and wave since the end of the 70s. not that it is important to me who was first but it is a little funny to hear that take again and again.

Thank you Francois for your spot on comments about the current climate - not just in Bali, but all around the world. This is the very reason we’ve started our own night here in Melbourne (Odyssey), which is all about the musical journey, consisting of genre defying peaks and troughs all night. It’s all about feeling the music, and being in the moment - not just fist pumping. (Hence the name Odyssey). Also, big up to Klymax for something different. We travel to Bali almost once a year, and it’s a breath of fresh air to attend! ❤️

Interesting comment about half of the Schizophrenics on the psych ward are Shamans resonates well with me. Throughout my life my Father has spoken only of love, kindness and oneness. Before entering kindergarten I understood God lives in me and the Universe Loves Me. I was taught from the text of I Ching, Mystical Qabalah, Power of the Psalms and so forth. Dad is branded as a Schizophrenic. He does in fact suffer from Schizophrenia. I am unaware of a formal diagnosis. But. The family is silent when it comes to Dad. I understood his condition when in a college class the instructor said, "you might recognize these symptoms in the Uncle that lives in your Grand parents basement". For many years, my Dad lived in my Grandparents basement. I am grateful for Dad's inconsistent calls, even at odd times of the night to warn me of potential pitfalls to come and spirits of people not to trust. He speaks of dreams as metaphors. Dad has figured out how to live with freedom from mental health interventions. He is reclusive. He stays out of the way. He moves at night. Sleeps during the day. He is poor, poorly educated and in poor health. Somehow, though, he keeps up with current events in a way that is very difficult to describe. He feels the conditions of the world. He only receives local news from a television that sometimes works. Perhaps it is Coast To Coast that keeps him updated. Dad uses alcohol and weed to cope with his discomfort of being how and who he is in this world. It can be disheartening to witness. Destruction of the body and enlightenment of the soul are strange bedfellows. I, however, am the daughter he designed with his programing of Universal Love. I Love You. Be Well.
