A day in the life in China. I began a journey by train from London to China on 12th January 2020. My intention was to spend a year exploring the wonders of this huge, ancient and enigmatic country.. Who knew at that point i was headed to the epicentre of a Global Pandemic. Setting out on that adventure changed my life and 4 years later I am now making a home here. I am adding videos from the first journey and 18 months in China and a daily vlog of the streets of Beijing and my life here. Accompanying it is a blog you can read at www.nicholasquirkewas.com

Beijing Bites sent us to Tonghe Ju a restaurant with a history of over 100 years and frequented by the famous literati including writer Lu Xun and Lao She and painter Qi Baishi. Memory Moment: 14th April 2020. I went in search of the treasures of the Tea Museum. It was the time of Covid and it was shut. Discovering Beijing: Eating Ma La Tang in Xidan
Переглядів 3День тому
Memory Moment. I cycled to Ping’Anli for another treatment and on my back I met Peng to try a Chinese dish known as Ma La Tan. The customer selects a variety of foods to be cooked in a soup. I asked for the mushroom based soup but got a tomato base. It’s probably why I look sour and you don’t see the completed soup. 11 April 2020. #dailyvlog #travel #bikeride #cityrides #cycling #eating #chines...

China is so beautiful
"Hey China, I understand that you may have cultural or personal preferences when it comes to food, but I wanted to gently remind you that consuming animal products can be harmful and cruel to those innocent creatures. With the abundance of delicious and nutritious fruits, vegetables, and plant-based options available, it's easier than ever to make compassionate choices. Animal agriculture not only causes suffering but also contributes to environmental degradation and resource depletion. Let's explore the wonderful world of plant-based cuisine together and make choices that promote kindness, sustainability, and well-being for all beings!"
@@man08839 Thank you for your comment. I am not sure why you are writing this. I am a vegan and any food that you will see in these videos are not meat products. you are preaching to the converted.

Thank you for watching and enjoying. When I watch this now I laugh at, but also love the lack of stabilisation the GoPro5 Black had. At the time I thought it was brilliant.
@@1verisimilitude Yes, that's right. At that time, GoPro 5 was the best. The Kyoto scene was impressive and I was so impressed, so thank you.
