my intro to youtube | mini day in the life & how I started my own business
this was so amazing to see. i’ve been working in design for about a year and trying to figure out how to pursue art independently as well. the dream is to design a cookbook and work with food-related brands. i would love to see more videos about the nitty gritty of your business! i’ve been a fan for a few years, loving the content recently!!
loved this video so much!
absolutely adore ur vids! for someone just starting, do you recommend jumping in to having a site right away or starting with something like a patreon sticker club or something ?? <3
Great insights for ecomnerce businesses! Thanks for sharing.
I noticed your pricing for your art prints is on the higher end - how did you get the confidence to price them at that level? I'm sorry if this question is too personal or seems weird, I'm an artist too and just wondering about how to grow my business
Of course! I have been making and selling prints since 2019-2020, I think as I grew my brand, the more my confidence started to grow. This is my livelihood now, so I do price higher to accomodate for all that goes into my brand but also, my print shop is $$$ since they use such high quality inks and paper, which results in me having to price higher. my customers tell me they would rather have higher quality prints at a higher price than the other way around, so I have been sticking with it! be honest with how you price your work and don't sell yourself short. I suggest adding a variety of prices to help accommodate different art lovers/collectors. For example, I offer mini prints for only $5 so everyone can feel included in collecting my art!
@@fiorenzaart thank you so much for this!
Love this for you! You go girl! 🥳 also, thank you for the tip on buying stamps at wholesale cost
Of course! But I think that this wholesale shop is gone now since I last checked which is crazy...I now go my post office and ask for a discount on bulk stamp orders so I can continue to get my stamps from them and they said yes!
can you draw a cat smokin a bong?? please also draw him wearing a beanie
bunnnnnyyyyy!!!
Beautiful
As an aspiring creative director, this is so wonderful to hear! I spent so much of life trying to find my niche but, it’s a constant process of learning and finding fulfillment 🫶😌
Good morning! 😃I love your work! It’s so unique and cute 🥰 I was wondering if there was a way to colab on your Fiorenza friends monthly subscription? I think it would be so fun! 🤩 your doing great thing! 🤗
I could feel the emotion & it had me choked up. I am over the moon happy for you!! 🫶✨ I quit my job back in February. I couldn’t do it another day.
22:30 this!
I really needed to hear this right now. I'm a graphic designer, been at the same job that I got out of college for 3 years now, and I've been feeling really hopeless lately. The job is very simple and way more lax than anything else I could ever find, so I feel really guilty for wanting more creative freedom and craving bigger challenges. Only recently have I started trying to make my own stuff outside of work for my artistic sake, but it just feels like turning the passion projects into a real career is impossible :') so thank you for sharing your story and re-instilling hope in me <3
So inspired by your story and opportunities! I would love if you'd do a video on more of the business, social media, financial, etc. side of things!
Love your art and video ideas!! Please make videos on those things taxes, owning a business etc.! 💕
Love this I’m so inspired! I’m so glad I found your channel! Thank uuuu 😊
I've just set up a subscription service on patreon and i haven't really been promoting it because I feel self conscious - this was so inspiring, thank you for sharing the process!
I actually very similarly went to school for graphic design, at Pratt Institute, hoping to use that degree to help me on the digital back end of fashion illustration and now work full time and am working towards becoming a full time artist! Took a break in between the two as a single mom raising my daughter and am now married and pursuing my art more than ever.
This is everything I needed and more. Thank you so much for sharing this!
We love a woman who doesn’t gatekeep! Thank you!!!
It’s funny I’m in a program now where content creators learn the ropes of the ad world (however a lot of people along for the ride are already coming from some branch of the industry.) I am an artist too but I do want to eventually be an art director but nowhere near an ad agency. 😅 and yes it’s a lot of work. Thanks for sharing.
What an incredible journey!!! New sub😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you!! 😁 so happy you’re here!!
Omg 😮 I couldn't believe it when I saw your thumbnail. (1st time discovering you, btw!! So happy!) Okay, back to what I wanted to say! 😂 I have a pair of the Stance socks you designed ❤ that are ones of my favorites and when I decided to pursue art (a few months ago), it was that pair of socks that was at the top of my dream list of what I wanted to do!!! I was like who does that?! How do I get to do this??! And now there you are... 😊 P.s.: I cried so much when you shared your advice about taking your time, not rushing and that your gut will not steer you wrong. I was in a big car accident yesterday and I was trying to see the bigger reason for that to happen. When you said those words, IT WAS THE MESSAGE I needed to hear. ❤ You have no idea what it means to me. ❤ You see, I'm 44 and don't have the luxury of time like you talked about but I believe I can do something cool with the rest of my life. Your story gives me hope that something like this could happen to me too. Soo happy to know you and know who made these amazing socks that I will be even more proud of wearing!! 😊❤
I am tearing up so much reading this. Thank you. I hope you truly never feel rushed or pressured and stick with your gut and the time line your gut is telling you to follow because it truly doesn’t matter what age you choose to pursue a dream. It’s never too late to start. What’s meant for you will be waiting for you, no matter what. I’m so sorry to hear about your accident…but I’m so glad you’re ok…the world is YOURS it needs you and your art. Please keep me posted whatever your creative endeavors may be, you got this!
@@fiorenzaart 🥹 Thank you so much Elena! I really love your energy and you seem to have a big & pure heart. Will be spending the evening watching more of your videos as I get some rest and healing done. 😝
wow thank you so much for sharing! i feel like im in the same boat as you but am just beginning... i just quit my job (i worked at an elementary school and realized i dont want to be a teacher) and am now looking for graphic design jobs to become an art director. however, i feel like i don't really know what this career actually looks like and how to get into this world and have been questioning what my dreams really are. im trying to come to terms with the obvious answer (since i was a kid ive wanted to be an artist) and what this means and how i should approach this. so ever since ive been unemployed i apply to jobs and then make art afterwards. Sometimes it can feel kinda aimless because 'being an artist' can feel so daunting and unrealistic. its hopeful to hear your story and to see whats possible if im just disciplined, patient, and dedicated with my work!
Thanks for sharing your story. It was really inspiring to hear about your journey and how you got to be a full time artist. I can't wait to see more of your art and where you go next!
thank you so much for listening! i appreciate it so much!
what an incredible journey! can't wait to see what you do next. I would love a video on breaking down the nitty gritty of owning an art business! taxes, health insurance, dependence on social media algorithms -- all the scary stuff lol! Fellow graphic designer at an agency here with dreams of finding my way back to my love of oil painting
At 07:05 and already crying..will continue to watch now, but thanks for sharing! ❤
Not me crying reading you’re crying! 🫶🏽
@@fiorenzaart finished your video! Thanks for making me feel hopeful! 😊🫠💕 there is room for every artist!
@@takethebrush there totally is! the world needs all the art!
ahh omg thank you so much for sharing!! your art deserves to be known 🫶🏻 my dream is just to make art tbh, don’t know where that’ll take me but at least i’m happy. you inspire me so much now i have to grab my pen and draw 😭
Thank you so much! I am so happy you liked this video and it resonated with you! that is such a good dream...and i think if you just go after it and keep nourishing it, it will repay the favor and give back all the love you gave it.
thank you for sharing this 🩷 I’m in school for Public Relations and Advertising but deep down I want to be an artist and own a little cafe or restaurant but I’ve been feeling lost and discouraged 🤧 so hearing your story is really helpful and inspiring!!! I would love to know more about what it takes to own a business and more about your career in advertising 💕
Of course! we are on such similar wavelengths. you truly can do both, PR/AD and creating art and exploring your dream of opening a cafe, it will be a lot of work, but it won't feel like work because it is your passion. I will definitely make another video diving into those topics!
Thank you this was so helpful and informative ! I think I’ve seen you on tik tok a few months ago ? Unless this concept has been popularised. Anyways wish you the best !
loved this video, its comforting seeing you work, big growth coming for you Elena. Keep it up
Thank you so much! So happy you liked it
Thats awesome art!😊😮
Thank you!
cuteeee
Thank you!
you need a camera the keeps focus
How did you get so much interest for your subscription service? Was it mainly through an IG or TT presence? Thanks!
I'm Indian and really depressed by how artists aren't appreciated here. I spend hours making an oil painting, a very good oil painting of a cute dog and price it for rs. 2500 (roughly $29) and a woman I know on Instagram who flaunts buying Jimmy choo, YSL Gucci etc thought i should put the price low if I wanna sell things. CAN I EARN A LIVING SELLING STICKERSSSSS IN THIS COUNTRY?!?!
Make and print copy prints and sell them online!
Wow it looked amazing in the end congrats 💗 also not sure if you did a video like this already but would you consider doing a video on what your journey was like actually starting out from 0 followers, think it would be inspiring for aspiring artists/creators like me, especially when mentally that part is so difficult 🤧
Thank you so much for this comment, I definitely can make a video on this!
i've followed you on instagram for a while, but just discovered your youtube channel today! love your work, and love how authentic and cozy these vlogs are! as an illustrator / designer myself, i've also been in the works of starting my own online shop and trying to be a vendor at more events, so i'm so stoked to see more behind the scenes of those processes and events :)
Aww this comment made my day! I’m so happy you found me here! Thank you so much, I hope you find the videos helpful and inspiring moving forward ❤
Congrats on the successful market!! Loved seeing the behind the scenes and hearing all the tips !
Thank you! I’m so happy you liked it and hopefully found it helpful 🫶🏽
Such a helpful video! Love the idea of doing a subscription service once I actually open up my shop. 😊
Glad it was helpful!
Wow, I love the collab idea that is so smart!
Congrats on your business Elena! TY for sharing with us. I absolutely LOVE the shopify sales ticker you show at the end - would you mind sharing where we can get one? ❤
Yes! Here it is: shorturl.at/Xtnb4
@@fiorenzaart thank you so much! genius product!
Can you make a video on how you made your subscriptions via Shopify?
Amazing tips. I am an instant subscriber. Thank you so much for sharing them 🙌🏽
Thank you so much! So happy you’re here :)
That was super helpful,For those who’ve started a business, what advice would you give to someone just starting out?
Just wondering where do you get your stickers printed, is that with Vistaprint too? I'd love to be able to offer that to my peoples
Yes! I like sticker app, sticker ninja, sticker giant
ok this was so helpful! I've been thinking about starting a subscription service but on the fence about it. I have a small business that includes stickers, iron on patches, tees + more but my quirky thing are my paper doll sets 😅 And i'm trying to figure out a little world where they can live. Lots of good advice in here - congrats on all your success Elena, this is just the start!
im so happy you found this helpful! I think a subscription service for your paper dolls would be so amazing! thank you so much <3 <3
I don’t see a link for the waitlist. Is it discontinued already? 😢

This video us amazing and I love your art ^_^ I was interested in your advice on growing a dedicated audience! I’ve been struggling with that in my own small business
