65 Vintage Ferraris Join the 2022 Cavalcade Classiche in Italy's Dolomite Alps
Переглядів 1,2 тис.2 роки тому
Driving to Italy's Lago Molveno, we stumbled upon a vintage car rally of 65 classic Ferraris driving through the Dolomite Alps. Fewer than 100 visitors, we were allowed to freely walk around these incredible cars the sounds were amazing. In less than 30 min. they were gone. It's iPhone 13 4k video and audio, but you'll need a decent audio system to appreciate the sounds of these rare Ferrari's!

This 5 min. video might put you to sleep, that's OK. Don't view it on a phone, it needs a large display a Smart TV is best. During the Covid lockdown in March 2020, I started flying my drone at sunrise and sunset near Carefree, Arizona just to be outside. I quickly realized sky colors are unique in the desert, but the peak intensity only lasts /- 2 minutes. At times, it's absolutely spectacular...

Black Mountain dominates the Cave Creek & Carefree area north of Phoenix. It's an odd combination of smooth western slopes full of Saguaro Cactus, colliding with a box of rocks on the rugged eastern half. It's a gated community with luxurious homes carved into the hillside. They have incredible views and very long driveways!

A 55 min. 4K video of the Big Island of Hawaii, made as video wallpaper for a restaurant's 75" HDTV. Repeated 12 hrs a day, the edits are longer than normal since few will watch it in it's entirety in one sitting. Two years, 200 drone flights, many crashes. A Sunday drive to Pahoa, Hawaii on July 22, 2018. The road to Kalapana re-opened, but Leilani Estates was closed to residents only. It's an eerie drive, much of the foliage is dying, the gas fumes are strong. I only flew my drone outside the 5 mile no-fly zone (footage at the end)
Remembering Beautiful Kapoho, Hawaii - June 2018
Переглядів 10 тис.6 років тому
Every scene in this video is completely covered by lava, gone forever. Kapoho, Hawaii's stunning oceanic museum, my all-time favorite snorkeling place, is now a memory. 100's of lava pools were nurseries to every kind of sub-tropical Pacific fish and coral. Sadly, in the first week of June 2018, the Kapoho Tide pools, Kapoho Vacationland, Kapoho Bay and the surrounding area, were buried by lava...

      Ahalanui Beach Park with its warm pond, was overcome by lava in 2018. That remote area sits atop the extremely active Kilauea Rift Zone. I’ve spend much time there, and still find it hard to believe it’s gone. My favorite snorkeling place on earth was the nearby Kapoho Tide Pools, also covered by lava. Kapoho Bay, lined with 100’s beautiful vacation homes is completely gone, as if no humans ever set foot there. The Puna coastline from Kapoho Bay to Isaac Hale Beach Park (my favorite Hawaiian beach park, now 75% covered, barely surviving) has completely changed. There’s quite a lot of aerial footage in this video that’s now a historical record… ua-cam.com/video/gADlbIvD5A0/v-deo.html

    • @HiloHawaiian
      @HiloHawaiian 2 роки тому

      Yes, the small turtles were filmed at Richardsons Beach, and the bigger turtles were in the area between Leleiwi & Onekahakaha Beach Parks - all in Hilo. Be very careful in these waters as they can occasionally have strong rip currents. Check the Hawaii Beach Conditions website regularly! On calm days, it’s like a lake, but they are rare. Since few snorkel there, the big turtles are totally tame and come to you!

    • @HiloHawaiian
      @HiloHawaiian 2 роки тому

      To each his own, Brother. The Big Island is huge, sparsely populated and rural. It’s always been that way, sorry. Aside from Kailua-Kona and Waikoloa, there’s many miles of vacant land. Hunting and fishing are popular activities. There’s cattle ranches, agriculture and plenty of unvanished rain-“forests”. If you find natural beauty “hideous”, there’s always Honolulu!

    Grew up on Oahu as a child. Went back to visit friends on the big island in the 80s after living on the mainland for many years. They took me here. Out of all the fond memories of the good times I had in the 808, the warm kapoho (keiki) pools are the standout highlight. Besides visiting friends on Oahu, getting back to those pools is one of the main reasons I would visit again. I told my kids about this place, & had planned to take them there & make Kapoho's magic as vital a part of their being, as it is mine. I witnessed Kilauea up close & personal when I was only 7, so I'm well aware of its devastating potential, & ultimately respect the awesome power of Pele's will. Kind of sucks knowing it no longer exists. So be it. Thnx for the audiovisual tribute. I'll be back

      Your welcome. It was a labor of love. I tried to go twice a month, an hour’s drive each way from Hilo. It became a sanctuary we looked forward to visiting. I’ve been all over the pacific, nothing compared to the tide pools of Kapoho....

      Thanks much for the kind words, you’re very welcome. I actually made this video for myself, as therapy. I loved Kapoho so much, I was having an awful time dealing with it’s disappearance. I had lots of underwater video, but by dumb luck, I had flown my new drone over the area 3-4 times only months before the eruptions. I had to somehow transfer that emotional connection into an experience I could share, this is the result. I’ve watched it 50+ times on a 65” TV, b/c it brings me right back. I didn’t add an intrusive soundtrack b/c I didn’t want anything to interfere with the sights and sounds of being there, being underwater. I guess others feel like we do, it’s by far the most popular video I’ve ever made!

  • @ChrisMcKiernan
    @ChrisMcKiernan 5 років тому

    Was that the same drone the whole time? I noticed a lot of drifting or movement upon landing was that due to wind, not connected to gps or error?

    • @HiloHawaiian
      @HiloHawaiian 5 років тому

      It’s all the same Autel XSP drone. Very durable. Two of the worst crashes were due to a compass issue Autel fixed for free both times. The Big Island of Hawaii is very windy on the Hilo side. I flew in 20-30 winds often. It flew well, steady video, but landing in heavy wind is tough, sometimes I’d purposely aim for a clump of weeds.

    Nice flying! EVO? To think, all this activity has been going on for millions of years and almost all of that time, there was no one around to appreciate it. Thanks for posting. Occasional choppiness may be your editor. Which one are you using?

    • @HiloHawaiian
      @HiloHawaiian 5 років тому

      Rubik3x YW! Autel X-Star Premium, it still flies and shoots well. The choppiness I think is from my poor editing techniques in varying the speeds too much in post :(

      Xxxmermaid Love Thanks so much. I make these video’s primarily, selfishly, for myself. For my memories. I’m part Hawaiian. I figured if I was pleased/moved by them, maybe some folks who understand our perspective my enjoy them as well. When I promised a friend to make an hour-long video wallpaper for his cafe in Hilo, I never thought it would take so long. It was because if I couldn’t do justice to this magical place, I wouldn’t do it at all. After 2 years, I got about as close as I could get being a one-man-band. One drone, one Mac, LOL. This was not made to be watched in one sitting, but I find myself getting lost in it every time I watch it. I hope it brings some pleasure to you as well...
