She will eventually grow out of the biting habit, but for now she uses it to challenge for alpha. We say, “no bite” and she will normally run up and wrap her arms around my neck and kiss my cheek. It’s almost as if she is apologizing 😁

She is still too small to sleep with us. We decided this was safer for her since our two dogs are in the bed.

@@barbvenegas447 thank you 😊 My philosophy is to live life happy with a positive attitude. There’s no reason to get upset about things you can’t control or change. Life is short, everyone should enjoy the time they have.

@@staciedungan6950 The more she wants to explore around the house, the more I would rather wait until she’s a year old and know what to expect from the exploring phase. I’m still trying to teach her boundaries in the house, so she won’t have to be excluded from a specific room due to safety issues. For now she is tethered into her high chair when I’m cooking so she doesn’t get hurt, but she hates being so far away from me. She still reaches for the pot when I’m stirring if she is hanging out on my shoulder, so I think it’s safer for her until she stops reaching.

@@c.l.conolly yes most definitely. I got a jungle gym I know they are small at first. I've also got playpen with the balls in it. I'm going to be paranoid about everything until they learn. 🥰🤣

@@staciedungan6950 she loves her ball pit and recently we got a cat tree to climb on. It scares me every time she jumps from one end of the sofa onto the ottoman to the other side of the sofa. I’m terrified she’s going to hurt herself.

It's actually a bad idea to get another when the first is still an infant because they will bond more to each other than to you. There is SO much to consider before you add another - most caps do just fine as single monkeys. Also remember that there's no guarantee they'll get along, so you have to be prepared for that possibility, and for the possibility that the male, if you add one to a female, will want to mate excessively, whip often happens and is not fair to the poor female. Please get a copy of Mary Lynn Campbell's 'The baby book' for all you need to know about raising a baby capuchin.

@@MichaelYuhas I have an iPhone 13 mini. She is almost 17 weeks and moving around so much more every day. She recently started running around on the floor, rather than only staying on the sofa.

@@staciedungan6950 my husband says he wants a little boy now. I’m the one who’s home 24/7 and I don’t know if I could handle a second one…yet. She will be one in May, so maybe June we can get another one 😂😂😂

@@c.l.conolly that's how it is with me & my husband. He suggested we get 2 and I'm the one home 24/7. It is a lot of work but so worth it I think. My kids are all grown

@@barbvenegas447 she’s okay with it in her bed. She actually cuddles it at night. I think she associates it with bedtime and that’s why she didn’t want it on the couch 😂😂😂

If you havent heard about the Bonobo monkey on the Oprah show it will amaze you they are very intelligent ...the females are the leader and their always at peace no fighting ..ok i just wanted to share that with you

@@barbvenegas447 agreed. I prefer the black cap/tuffted capuchin over the white face. Their demeanor is also different. Black caps tend to be more accepting of the domestic lifestyle and the white face tend to be more mischievous. In my opinion, I think the black cap capuchins look like babies longer than white face, but that’s just my opinion 😜

I stay home with her all the time. She has a car seat for when I go to visit family, but otherwise my husband does the grocery shopping and we order a lot of things from Amazon. She stayed with my husband during the day when I was at Houston Horror Film Fest. He also has the flexibility at work to take half days if I have a doctor appointment. We made sure to work everything out before we got her.

@@c.l.conolly Thank you. That's a logistic I'm working out now since I do not have the spouse aspect. But could do online for the shopping. The doctor thing is a tough one. I'd have to get a cousin introduced and able to be with I'm thinking.

That’s the Italian in me 😂😂😂 and she is very spoiled.

The cost of a monkey varies depending upon the species. $8,000-$30,000 range starting with a marmoset all the way up to a lemur. As for capuchins cinnamon, white face and black cap are also different prices ranging from $15,000 to $27,000. I saved up for two and a half years along with rolling coins. I researched the proper care and diet for six years to make sure I was ready.

I did too. No money exchanged until delivery. The broker was a more reputable way to go.
