As of late, my interest in horror only grows. One of the boldest things I see in the genre though, is when children are involved. The thought of horrible, nightmarish things happening to beings so young and innocent, is truly horrifying, which is partly why I love that aspect of it. When horror takes a direction that rarely is shown, such as the baby and child Necromorphs in Dead Space 2, and the Beached Things in Death Stranding.
So I recently had a scenario/idea. What if something terrible happened to a school, in the middle of the day? And all of the students were turned into terrible, tragic creatures, their bodies still resembling that of a child? The idea of encountering a creature that was ounce young, and never got to live farther than adulthood is… sad and terrifying.
I wanted to incorporate the bell sound you hear in school and turn it into a twisted nightmare, that reflects the innocence of childhood, as well as the unthinkable in front of you.
