Broken Airstream Part 2
Every day, every week and every month and year has a low point. When things are going really well, you may not even notice the low point. When things are going poorly, you definitely notice the sift from bad to worse.
We had to keep moving east as we looked for a solution for our repairs and it was frustrating to not have a plan. It is definitely harder to keep your eye on the ball when you are injured and exhausted but we really can’t complain considering we just wrapped up 90 days RVing through the summer of a lifetime!
If you are new to RVing it is important to know to shop for the manufacturer you want and not any specific dealer. RV dealerships excel at sales and quickly go downhill once you pull off the lot.
Several dealerships recommended an insurance claim. It is this very behavior that has made insurance so expensive for everyone.
Airstream immediately stepped up, worked us in and went over the top and exceeded our expectations by miles! We could not have even hoped for the level of service we received and got our Airstream back BETTER than when we first got it!

Mysterious Failure in Airstream - Part 1
Переглядів 9 тис.5 місяців тому
You are seeing Amy see this for the first time and our reactions as they played out. We are obviously accustomed to the minor and major issues that arise when traveling by RV. This certainly wasn’t as debilitating as a flooded basement or a broken leaf spring, but it was shocking. And confusing! Our Airstream had given us very little trouble up to this point. Amy noticed the rock guard was vibr...

Back in the USA and sadly, we always feel it. The pace of everything seems to speed up and life gets a little louder and a whole lot less patient. We would have loved to stay longer and see Hurricane Ridge but we bo...

Loading the Airstream on the Blackball Ferry to Port Angeles

The stress of loading the Airstream on the Blackball Ferry from Victoria to Port Angeles was real! The process is run efficiently enough but the ferry is significantly smaller than the BC Ferries we took to Vancouver Island. This was a very tight squeeze. This was one of those moments we were especially glad to be in the smaller, maneuverable Airstream. The larger rigs did fit but loading our f...

We really loved our time in Victoria, BC. This city oozes charm and is a great mixture of old and new! We had to drive into the downtown area and parking is a real challenge for a large truck but we found great parking down my the port! Our Airstream 25 FBQ HAS BEEN GREAT. We had the refrigerator door open once so we now use painters tape. We’ve never had a problem with the cabinets…except making the mistake of driving through New York City and hitting a huge drop in the road going onto the George Washington Bridge. Every thing in the rear cabinets ended up on the floor!

We are looking to buy an Airstream based on what we thought was a superior build. We will be part time RVers, around 3-4 months a year. It appears you have a 30’ Globetrotter (I hope I’m right). We were thinking the 27’ Globetrotter or International but 30’ isn’t out of reason. Do you have issues with a 30 footer in parks? We have heard that State/Federal parks that 30’ could be a challenge. Thank you in advance for all your insight. We have 4 dogs but probably would only travel with one or 2 of them since we will be part timers. We mainly want to travel with our grandkids. Thank you again.

You are correct!!! 30ft Globetrotter and it was the easiest thing to tow and park that we ever had. Amazing turn radius and just easy to own. No regrets. Ours is for sale now because we are not RVing in the near future. Let us know if you’re interested but good luck either way!!!

Have to agree about how bad the Vancouver traffic is. Population has grown significantly and in their wisdom city leaders have reduced the roads by putting up a bunch of bike lanes. @@lifebetweentheditches1307 I’m 6ft 4inch tall. My wife and I probably couldn’t sleep in separate beds…and actually get a good nights sleep.
