XGuard Plus V3 new Features
There are two new features on the new XGuard Plus V3 backup power units. Activation of an optional locator buzzer via switch and 12V compatible.
1) The new XGuard Plus V3 allows you to use the Radio Switch to not only power off the unit after disconnecting the battery pack but also allows you to activate an optional locator buzzer so you can use it to locate your fallen aircraft when it falls in heavy vegetation areas or in places that make it difficult to locate.
2) The unit is now also compatible with 12V systems. When connected to a 12V system, it will charge up to 8.4V and then stop charging so that the capacitors are not damaged and then if the need arises it will provide 8.4V in an emergency.

Non linearity of Rack and pinion servo moving an arm
Переглядів 3184 місяці тому
There is a misconception about these drives. A circular drive driving a circular action is linear, in other words, as long as the radius are the same, if the servo rotates a certain amount of degrees, the receiving end rotates the same amount of degrees making it linear in other words one degree rotation produces one degree at any angle. In a linear displacement to circular system as shown, the...

Nick Maxwell had already purchased Heli-X and was using it for training and I told him "you need to see it on VR" so we agreed to get together at Rotor Live 2024 so he could try it. He came with Kyle Stacy and they both tested it. Kyle took the goggles off and asked me "what's the goggles I need to buy?" so I told him "the Oculus Quest 3" and he bought them right then and there via Amazon and b...

Whats the weight of this unit ?
i just build a nimbus nitro and tried to use the rigidcore damper. used the deburring tool like u show here and greased everythimg and assembled the head, and it was so tight the blade grips wouldnt turn. so i took the shims that go with the stock dampers out and re assembled it again, but it had ay and wasnt close to tight. so i finally just built the head stock, after ordering these insanely expensive dampers and a deburring tool and fidling with it for way too long. 0/10 wouldnt reccomend. ordered a tail boom antennae mount for my nitron too and it was an i sanely over priced peice of junk too. 3d printed out of crappy material, included zip tie wont fit through the slot its supposed too, andnit doesnt fit securely at all on the boom. thats 2/3 xgaurd products ive bought that are entirely unusable. i wont be trying or using any xgaurd products any more
Nice video. Thanks for sharing.
You didn't show what happens to the 1st red wire you heat shrinked.
well this wrok on a Mac Imac desk top running Catalina version 10.15.7 3.2 ghc Quard cora 8 gb 1600 mhz
Don’t know but you can test that yourself downloading their demo.
Does the Heli-X VR has the same issue as other simulators that you need to fly near you or otherwise helicopter is blurry?
Hello, I have built a couple months ago - Align 550x. My canopy is cracking and looks scratched up already. Before replacing, I'm trying to see if this will work for my heli as well.
If the post has a height between the 12mm minimum and the max available it should work without a problem.
Hello Auggie how do I setup this with a CGY760 and Futaba TX
If you look at the product page there’s a section called Futaba telemetry with videos and pictures with the info you’re looking for. xguardrc.com/product/xguard-plus-c30-v3-power-backup-system-30f-w-telemetry-alarm-remote-off-radio-switch-ports/
Is there such thing as an Off On Off momentary switch? I have something that calls for that.
Love the radio name The olive 🫒 😂😂😂
Yup 😂😂😂
Is there a trick like this for inverted flight
Watch all the episodes because inverted flying is covered across a few of them.
@@auggiecopter ok I will.. I really like the near far rudder trick, it’s so great!! I will keep watching because I need something to help me perceive the inverted orientations
Hello I love the work your doing and really appreciate all your videos as well can you give the dimensions of each Xguard from the 25, 50, and the 100 so we can decide what size would be best for the application were using it on.
It was really hard to hear what you were saying when the buzzer was blaring.
Great video, thanks!
You’re welcome 😊
Do you try and match yaw rates with flip and roll rates in your FBL?
Nice explanation Auggie, So on a flybarred heli, this does matter. With a fbl system not so much
Nice use of CAD drawing. I especially like the protractors.
Thanks for posting this. I forgot about it.
Fun competition! 😄👌🏼🚁
I received and installed the sensor today, works perfectly. Also filed the corners carefully around so it sits closer to the side. Thanks for the clear video!👍
Hi Auggie, thanks for the video, I'm practicing piroflips but I'm having a problem, I can't stay in the same place when I do the piroflips, the helicopter goes in all directions.
How long must it dry before peeling off the top coating?
I let it dry a few hours
@@auggiecopter yes thank you. Have let it dry a few hours and its ok now (second set, firts 1 come off)
This was an awesome video. My new favorite simulator. 🚁💨💯👍
Mine too 😊
Should you do this to any model your installing the dampeners in, or is it specific to the Raw 580/ Raw 700 Nitro/ Piuma considering they use the same head block. I installed some in my Nimbus 550 and ordered another set for my Tron 7.0 and Raw 700 nitro. They were pretty difficult to fit in the Nimbus and now I'm considering getting new O-rings after seeing this video and making sure to groove them out the second time around.
Incredible flight! What is your training on PC? Real Flight?
Heli-X. Look for this training technique. It's all explained in that series: ua-cam.com/play/PLQXNqK8ED-Ckil9fi59Atkr3hW1iinQDm.html
Impressive!
Thank you
Great flying Auggie
Thank you. Loved the Gemini 🥰
Can you still use the fan with this mount
Don’t know. Never used a fan in scorpion ESCs. I will find out.
Auggie Did you get a copy of the build manual? Just checked the website and the manual is not there. Listed but only the first few pages.
Hi looks a great quality kit but why no manual ! even on there website just a four page over view and not a build manual
There’s a PDF manual. I have a copy of it.
@@auggiecopter Hi will see if i can find the PDF file thank you for your reply
@@leepering4440 it’s not published yet. Will be out when released.
@@auggiecopter Excellent I just need to look at the manual, as this is going to be my first Heli build. I have always bought second hand Models
WOW the insides of these $2500 radios look like a 100 controller. Plastic gimbals, battery velcro'ed to the pcb, cheap pcb too, very low quality.
Radiomaster has a better pcb 😂
exactly that and yet they act like they're addicted to this plastic
Excellent video, I seem to be able to follow the push around the disc but still nervous to try on my actual heli, Thinking of trying a larger push and not the rotating right stick first with a slow rotation to try and hit that synchronisation point.
That's a good approach
I have TRON Helicopters in my Bag of Wishes ( I have a fairly large Bag ) 😊
Thank you and RichardV
Great unboxing Auggie
That looks great. I think the Gemini looks pretty good with the Cybertruck style canopy!
😲
I personally use Blue Loctite 243 on the threads, but no, I do not use epoxy, or JB Weld, or CA glue to bond the metal ends to the carbon rod.
Did you have to take a slight amount of sandpaper to the road ends?
@@mtb4maine No. I do generally roughen the ends of the carbon fiber rod with a file (sandpaper also works well) whenever I bond the rod to the pushrod ends with JB Weld (or CA glue), but I do not roughen the cf rod ends in this case because there is no bonding; it is purely a mechanical fastening.
With my NME kit those bushing would not fit on the rod at all, I needed to reduce the diameter by a few .001” I guess my question was more if anyone has had the same experience.
@@mtb4maine On my NME kit, fitting the carbon fiber tail rod onto the metal rod ends was a tight fit. I used a hammer to tap it in. It is important to insert the carbon fiber tail rod all the way onto the rod ends until until it bottoms out, otherwise you risk it coming loose. I guess reducing the carbon fiber rod outer diameter with fine grit sandpaper would have worked, but I preferred to lightly tap it in with a hammer.
I’ll try that next time. Thanks!
Hello Auggie, Is the carbon not cracking, because its a verry rigid material?
The carbon rod ends WILL split and deform a bit when using these reusable "push rod ends". This is not an issue whatsoever as far as safety and performance of this assembled unit. It would become an issue if you were for some reason wanting to use the carbon rod itself in another project. In other words, the assembled push rods ends could be unassembled and be used in other projects, but not the carbon rod itself unless you saw off the "damaged" ends.
What John Hamel said is correct. They will split in the ends but because it doesn't allow expansion in the straig portion this split doesn't travel further out
Great video Auggie
I hope we can see honest m7 review So far all review on UA-cam made by sponsors
I'm not sponsored by anyone. I'm good friends with all the manufacturers, I like flying and I like to have all kind of different brands so no problem with that here.

I use quest 3 to play heli-x for almost a year. I would suggest wired headsets if you specifically use vr for rc sims. If possible buy a rift-s or quest pro or other wired headsets.
Is there a way to convert regular switch to momentary?
If you look at the video you can see that the way to ptrevent the full switching is by preventing the full swing so that the rocker will rest fully with the piston pushing to keep it in place. If you solder a piece of metal to the contact that’s connected to the wire so that the rocker won’t swing fully you will have restored it but at that point it’s probably easier to just order a replacement.
@@auggiecopter Im trying to find MOM version of regular switch for month already with no luck. I have specific size (in black dji fpv remote) 8x8x5mm
