hints and tips on fitting the jim blurton range of bar shoes
No no no he's got it wrong peripheral loading all wrong, wall not major weight bearing,it's sole and frog!!!!
Support support this word gets used over and over, how does a metal 0late under the foot support any more than the ground? It doesn't!!! The hoof wall is not the real weight bearing it's the sole and frog,200 years of crap. Go shoes the millions of zebras they need you.
Bull crap,5his horse will have coffin bone loss and remodeling, only matter of time.
Hola. Adonde venden esas herraduras?
Very fine education and keep spreading it.
I am farrier and I use this shoes it's really good
I was nailing up the otherday and I looked down at my hand holding the nail and it was shaking hard.
This is even more stupid that the normal horseshoes. Why is there always so much stupidity in the horse world?
Vivien Takacs No what you just typed is way more stupid. You need not to comment on a subject you know nothing about?? This shoe helps horses that have laminitis. Horses that have been foundered and have sensitive feet
Some people do more with their horses than “whisper” to them Vivvy..

Horses don't need SHOES :(
you Madame are not educated enough to know what you are talking about.
they don't if they are not being rode, worked, and do not have health issues. but add in any of those three things and they need shoes.
Habermacher Lydie that's not true at all some horses will hurt themselves and have serious problems without shoes, although this show design is stupid.
Them full shoes ? they don't bend up into the horses frog? wow it would really hurt if it did because it wouldn't be bending back in a hurry without having to rip the shoe off always thought the shoes was open at the back for this reason? learn something different every day hey! wicked work guys love watching a good farrier it's a art! 👍
It's a good thing actually if the frog is getting pressed. If the the shoe is stabbing it, then no it isn't.
Why do all your bar shoes look like they are designed for hooves with contracted heels with flared quarters ?
Jim need to take the heels back more.
I don't shoe my mare and she has never had problems with her feet.
Jim does nothing to help with white-line infection guaranteeing he'll be back for more corrective shoeing.
bmc06239 more talk from a fucken know it all
Watch and listen to the video - it's corrective shoeing, bar shoes etc. My horse had a severe quarter crack and bar shoes help tremendously.
All shoeing is bad for horses. Period.
Yeah, yeah. That's what they all say. Shoes restrict circulation and blood flow and the natural flexing of the hoof as the horse walks. There's literally no need for shoes.
Laura Herlehy If you actually trim a horse's feet properly, riding them over hard terrain shouldn't be an issue. More than likely the horses had shitty farriers and "vets" like yourself around acting like they know everything and didn't think the horse's feet needed proper trimming or chose to ride them over hard terrain too much to begin with. Because, you know, horses aren't meant to be ridden on things like asphalt and rocks for long periods of time. Do the research, because if you knew anything about horses you wouldn't be spewing your ignorant garbage at me in the first place.
Laura Herlehy good for you

I dont have a horse myself and dont know much about horses but my opinion is that you are a very good thinker i would have never thought of that how does it help does it give extra support or something
Mr. Blurton, really enjoyed your work on that horse. Good quality work.
lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllljjhggggfdsa
tiipaa your not thinking at all if you road ride trail ride you stand a chance of chipping and cracking the hoof .never will i trail ride without some kind of shoes i like my horse to well .
very nice ,thanks
My horse went barefoot for a reason .-.
this vid sure brought out the loonies
ALL shoeing is destructive to the hoof wall! If your horse or pony is foundered the last thing you should be doing is hammering nails into the compromised structure. ive been studying hoofs for 8 yrs. If your horse has feet issues it is almost always dietary unless an injury has occured. your horse needs movement, a correct diet of low carb food...because sugar causes laminitis/founder, and a correct trim. thats it! not complicated!
Not to mention shoes start fires by sparking when the horse steps on rocks. And it will damage other horses if the shod horse kicks out. A foundering horse has all that pressure on their hooves already putting a show on him will make it more painful because not only are their nails being pounded in sore hooves but you putting something hard on his hoove that will not releave the weight . That's like some one haveing feet pain an being overweight and being forced to have a metal plate in you shoe and being made to run on it and jump on it pretty soon you muscles ,legs. Back and bones will hurt.
From what I've observed growing up with horses sometimes shoes are needed if the horse is on hard surfaces for much of the time because the hoof will start to wear away. In that case they are needed.
Tu eres tonto ,asi es la vida. Un saludo.
Very nice video!!
Karen cable Watch the videos here on You Tube on founder/laminitis and learn something. There' goo info here.
Karen cable You need to watch this video and listen CAREFULLY as "Corrective shoeing" IS for horses and ponies that founder and if founder is not corrected you WILL lose the horse or pony.
Debyj When a shoe is set back like the farrier was doing it was to take the pressure off the toe and reducing the pressure on the coffin bone. Horses that founder or have laminitis if left alone will have the coffin bone rotate and can go out the bottom of the hoof and also the toe will curl up. the man knows what he is doing and he has been to school to learn how to do it. A good farrier works with a vet and should have X rays. I've been there done that and have returned several foundered horses to full service. Watch listen and learn !!! What this man is doing is "Corrective" shoeing and does not follow normal procedure for a reason.
Actually Founder (coffin bone rotation) is caused by laminitis (a inflammation of the Laminae. It has been implicated in feed related problems associated with toxins produced in the hind gut. There are other causative factors. I have nursed 6 horses through this ordeal. All of them had to be euthanized. I would love to see *proof* that even one horse has ever been returned to normal work after rotation. in 47 yrs I have not seen one single case.
Half these comments are fuckin crazy, you honestly think a man who devotes his life to horses, would design shoes that would hurt a horse? Natural or non natural who cares
sexy girl sexy girl sexy girl at the ennnnnnd... sexy girl sexy girl sexy girl at the endddddd secy girl oh ya you know you the sexiest girllll at the endddddddd offfffffff the videoooooooo
mnbhkkjjnumo,jjmkhmkj,
my appaloosa is getting cracks in its hoofs because it is verry wet, would you recommend these shoes?
That hoof must be cold as fuck! If the frog don´t touches the gronud, the blood circulation stops. Poor, poor horse... Sorry for bad english, I´m from sweden.
The pads are coming off my horse and so are the shoes. I had no idea. Thank you so much!
a good farrier and trimmer would be tomas teskey, he also does teeth and is a dvm
instead of shoes i would put a new brand of boots called soft rides you can also buy diffrent pads and that will help with the lameness in the front
when you put a shoe or pad and shoe it causes the hoof to die because if the hooves dont move the blood cant flow and also it will cause infection and rotting of the foot. Shoes can also cause whats called foundering. that is where the bone inside the hoof comes out of the bottom of the hoof creating great pain but it can be revursed without shoes. they just make the problem worse.
What harm will a padded foot do? Pad then a shoe...
My shetland pony has pantoffle feet, does this heart bar shoe helps for that or not.
Its always cool seeing the great work of a ferrier.
I have to say that I agree with you. My own horse is actually barefoot in the back and shod up front. The reason for this is because he's got nice, tough hooves in the back, but up front he's got soft soles in both and the left will barely even hold its' shape after a good rain. Last winter, the farrier ended up medicating and padding the front because he just came up lame in both fronts one day and it turned out that because it was so wet that week, he bruised his soles just by standing.
Oh yes, pu the bloody horse shoe on the dot while it's bloody hot. Smart thinking Jim
There's a reason he put the shoe on the hoof while hot
Thats some sexy Farriering music, I'm turned on Jim.
Your English is JUST FINE! I grew up speaking English and understood you perfectly.

btw I do get natural is better. But I also get why people shoe horses. Especially for the heavy working horse pulling things. We have alot of drafters around here who still work land they walk and pull heavy carts over roads that ain't made for there hooves. And the ones who aren't shoed for the wrong reasons. There feet... wauw really you'd be shocked I get why they shoe them. The roads damage there feet alot. The ones who are shoed look alot more normal.
hmhm totaly true, sadly it's to late for my shetland pony. He got foundered... due to someone who was suppose to take care of him when I was away...what did she do... she put him in a big green pasture and kept him in there not giving him any exercise nothing... I came back after 1,5 weeks and it was already over. He was already so bad he could barely walk. This was 2 years ago and still he's paying for it. Last year he even got an infection in the whiteline against the wall.
