Six Months of Sketches and Existential Crises (Jan-July 2024)

WARNING: (T)honest, (R)unfiltered (A)moments (and (S)maybe a (H)few questionable doodles Part 1 of I think 8 or 9 more sketches compiled in folders. This is the earliest I have of this year. These are sketches from January up to July, I think. So, 7 months. This was me trying to build it as a habit. I got work here so I was only drawing before going to work, and before I go to sleep. Still, it ...
Pinterest Figure Model Light and value study

Doing focused and specific study of how light are on flesh as I want to improve in this area. Again, since rendering is so meditative. I forgot who's or what institute owns this picture, I just got it from Pinterest. By the way, New Master's Academy's pose models are lit very good, I find. I like references that are well lit.

It's getting harder and harder to find the time to squeeze this in my schedule, I hate doing this, and I'm not happy when this thing crosses my mind, still, I find ways to create the time. This just reinforces the belief that when something is important for you, you make time for it.

I find that I make the best art when I am not recording the process, when I am just fully immersed and focused on the thing and can just go wild and be distracted and have fun and not worry about copyright music and editing it and being proper. Obviously, this is not it, I don't consider this as good, it's really not, and I've became indifferent to the results of my art, yet I still have that i...

30 min. Trying to diversify models, not just semi nude poses on Pinterest, since I plan on getting better at costume, props, and drapery.

still waitting for that perspective tutorial😮💨
yoooo man looks sick, reminds me kim jung gi´s style
Thank you 🌞🌞
Close enough, welcome back kim jung gi
🌞🌞
this is the best thing i have seen so far. can I ask you how long it took you to become that good and how do you construct your body with boxes? I still struggle with that
Thanks 🌞. I started drawing 2021, both digitally and traditionally. I only ever became serious with the intent of actually getting better at drawing this 2024. So, 3 years of dabbling, 1 year of discipline and structured routine. As for how I construct the body with boxes, I think I covered that on my only tutorial here on YT. Check that out if you're interested. Basically just simplify the body using basic forms (mannequinization) and draw a lot. That's it.
@@drawpillTREY This is literally the best thing I have heard in my life. You started in 2021? Just 3 years? You are incredible. You are a professional at this point. I have NEVER seen someone improve that much. I started last year but somehow I'm a little bit stuck. Is there any chance you do a video on how you started, how you created that structured routine etc? I draw for at least 2-4 hours a day. I will def. watch your UA-cam Videos. IDK why but your video gave me a boost of confidence to continue. Did you also do drawabox? And some of your drawings remind me a bit of Kim Jung Gi.
@@Treasure-bl3cnThanks for the kind words 🌞. Everything is a little bit complicated, but to me, it all came down to having a strong "why" on why I wanted to get better at drawing, and everything flowed from there. And no, I did not do drawabox, I think the main concept of that platform and my warmups are the same, but I did not follow any of that, I think it was instinct that drove me back to focus on the simple things (drawing basic forms over and over). Also, yes, most of my Figures in Perspective drawings are Master studies of Kim Jung Gi's, that's why they look similar.
Shave the neck beard, holy shite. other than that cool
🌞🌞
Very talented. I pray that your application goes well!

Damn, great works🎉

passed and hired, no argument about it. If they dont accept you, they should accept no one. Your stuff looks dope, really fun to look at style
Thank you for the kind words. That's the style I'm aiming at, fun. Glad someone noticed 🌞🌞
@@drawpillTREY Goal achieved! It kinda reminds me of Dongho Kim and Kim Jung Gi (second of both youre seemingly inspired from, looking at your channel) I like that you have a wide range of stylistic styles, im especially a fan of the perspective drawings (hence why they reminded me of Dongho Kim) and I wish you luck for your future! (even tho you probably dont need it lol) Im curious what more you will share here on youtube :)
@MxNSTR Yes, you've got a great eye! South Korean artists are some of my main inspirations in drawing. Thank you for these kind words, you don't know how much we appreciate it as artists. God bless you and have a wonderful day ahead :)
@@drawpillTREY I too, wish you the same and more :D

Best of luck! I appreciate your steadfast approach and you've improved a ton in a short amount of time. I can't wait to see what the future holds for you!

what stands out to me is the head, it looks oversized compared to the body (didnt watch the video just saw the head).
A bit, yeah. Thanks for the feedback
The struggle is real 🥲
amazing!
@@ladyBelle4 🥰
please keep doing these theyre so beautiful ❤
People who draw for popularity are precious. Because they draw for other people, so their art is judged by people, judged by the audience. They have far more stringent checks on quality, appeal, ecs. In the end those who make art as a product, for other people, make the most beautiful things. I feel like draw for yourself, draw for an audience of one is a bit of a trap and a meme. Art should be a gift to the people you care about, it's about communication when it boils down to, it's like a give and take with an audience.

Pretty helpful
Just wanna say I really appreciate you posting these. I like watching KJG's drawing vids but he's on such a different level that feels unapproachable. Seeing someone like you bravely (and only saying brave bc this isn't a pretty finished clickbait piece like most YTers who draw) sharing their process of gridding and blocking out a scene with multiple figures is incredibly useful for people to see. Gonna watch al your KJG Figures In Perspective Master Studies. Keep up the good work and the transparency of your journey.
You're welcome man, appreciate the sincerity, enjoy!
