All the keys are beautiful. Once you drive off the mainland, the atmosphere and vibe totally changes. I'm about a 3 1/2 hour drive to key largo from the mainland.
As Milton moves towards Fla, I watch and I know I would never move to Fla.
@@katiedid1851 I understand, this type of weather is not for everyone. Florida has always been the hurricane capital but it hasn’t and won’t stop many more people moving and living here. It can be wild and crazy here at times but the beauty of this state is captivating.

I have a question. What are the bubbles coming up in the water there are some behind a couple of the boats I am curious.
@@stonerjondee those bubbles are coming from water aerators. Although are canals are clear and have a nice flow, They help maintain a constant flow of water circulating it from the bottom to the top. The fish like it too.

@@WesMalone-yp3vf long key has seen its changes but the one thing I do like about this particular island is that it will never be overly developed like a lot of the other keys because we have the long key state park and environmentally protected land that takes up most of the island
My girlfriend and I stayed at Lime Tree Bay for 3 nights/4 days in October 2023. We had a room facing the Gulf that was far enough away from the main drag. Loved the location and the resort except for the very loud families on our Sunday arrival and our last night there. Beautiful tropical setting ideally located between Islamorado and Marathon. We kayaked at Curry Hammock State Park to the south and John Pennekamp State Park in Key Largo. Had great dinners at the resorts restaurant, in Islamorado, and at Ocean's 305.

@@MJsellingparadise No. A bunch of us went to Key West from Bonita Springs via the Key West Express out of Ft. Myers in May 2023. If the Key West Express wasn't damaged by Hurricane Helene my GF and I will be going back to Key West in mid-November just to go to the Dry Tortugas.

What’s the flood insurance rate for the area. Looking to move down there in the next year
That's really exciting! flood insurance rates can vary significantly. In my experience, I've seen annual rates for homes range anywhere from $1,000 to $5,000.
Just planted several Clusia or 'Autograph plant' and they are thriving here in West Central Florida. They look great! Zero maintenance. A lot of homeowners around here are starting to use Clusia in the past 2 years. I have seen 20 foot high Sea Grape plants at the parks. Keep in mind the Areca Palms will spread out and grow lots of palm fronds. They require regular cleanup.
Areca palms look crappy if not cleaned out every 6 months, plus attract rats

Lived in Layton back in the mid 70’s…It had the old train railcar breakfast that was still the best breakfast 👍🏻🤩🌊🌞

@@MJsellingparadise Buying plants at random and putting them in the Thunderdome.. "2 plants enter, 1 plant leaves". Agave, False type plants were good. So were these plants that had roundish leaves that are trees and yield green pods I grew up with.
Areca palms look great, but the droppings when you have a large backyard is not ideal. They also attract rats. They love making their nest in the Areca Palm trees. I do not recommend.

I brought three large Clusia plants at Home depot, each for $39.00. They are nice and big like 5.5 feet tall. They add privacy and good looks.

Thanks for the great video! We have both clusia and areca palms here in Tampa - excellent privacy hedge plants! We also have rapis palms and yellow bells lindens, a wonderful drought tolerant dense shrub.
