Interesting interview but his stats on white southerners who owned slaves are off and problematic. He used the stats of individual slave owners which makes the number of the slave owning population seem much smaller. However, if you use the number of slave owning families, about 31% of white Southern families owned slaves. Then when you add in overseers, and people who rented out slaves, that number increases even more. My point is the South and the nation as a whole was very invested in the institution of slavery and slave ownership was way more widespread than the stats he gave off would make you believe.

I saw another UA-cam video which discussed how race-mixing was encouraged in Argentina during the 1800 after slavery there was outlawed and an influx of Europeans came to Argentina. There are many photos of black and white couples with mixed-race children back from that era. It was thought that miscegenation was the best way to diffuse black ethnicity into the white culture so that basically black people would be indistinguishable from white people. Today, almost all Argentinians are classified as white as this video indicated, with only a small portion of the population classified as black. So a reverse policy was implemented in Argentina than what was implemented here in the US concerning race mixing. The Argentinian policy was similar to what was done in the US concerning Native Americans where many Native American children were taken from their homes even as babies and integrated into white families as adopted children and sent to boarding schools specifically designed to remove them from their culture. For black people in the US, of all the states that had anti-miscegenation laws, African Americans were always on the list while Native Americans and Hispanics were not included on every list. Very sad that so much was done in the US to implement and maintain a caste system which still exists today.

The silliness that is the request for reparations. (pt 1 of 18) Demanding reparations for long past damages to ancestors (slavery) is stupid, moronic, short-sighted, and unwise. Demanding reparations are cries of desperation from losers who remain losers after so much charity, philanthropy, gifting, hand outs, assistance, subsidies, affirmative action are given to them by society. The statute of limitation has been long expired; slaves and slave owners are long, long dead. A stupid commentator wrote: "There is no statute of limitations to indemnify damage to one's person or property in the insurance world." Incorrect. ALL insurance contracts have many clauses, coverage limits, constraints, restraints, and limitations. No insurance company exposes itself to infinite risk. No insurance company exposes itself to finite risk for infinite time. People demanding reparations are the same people who obsessively look for loose change under couch cushions and who cannot walk past a vending machine without checking the coin return slot. People demanding reparations are like the homeless foraging for money. The Confederacy. Hey!!! The Confederacy promoted slavery!!! The Confederacy should pay!!! Confederate bonds. Some American Descendant of Slaves (ADOS) gets hold of, say, $10 million in Confederate bonds. Can said descendant of slaves get $10M cash? Nope. The Confederate bonds can only be used as wallpaper or birdcage liner. The statute of limitations has run out. A stupid commentator wrote: "There is no statute of limitations for crimes against humanity." Yep. The US Confederacy was the agent of Slavery. The US Confederacy is long gone, gone with the wind. The injured party, the slaves, are long gone, dead, and buried. Besides, ChatGPT responded: "Yes, there are statutes of limitations for crimes, including crimes against humanity, in various jurisdictions around the world. However, the specifics can vary widely depending on the country and the nature of the crime." Any crime against a human is a crime against humanity. Slavery is Labor Exploitation. Abortion is the deliberate killing of unborn children. As crimes against humanity, is Slavery worse than Abortion? Abortion is Genocide. Slavery is not Genocide (today there are many living ADOS). Is there a statute of limitation on Abortion? Slavery is Labor Exploitation. Today, 2024 AD, there is still Labor Exploitation. Mean, nasty, horrible, terrible, immoral, dishonest employers withholding back pay from hard-working, honest, honorable, noble, industrious workers. Said workers should sue for back pay!!! With Interest!!! Extra punitive fines for EMOTIONAL DAMAGE!!! Stolen labor is SLAVERY!!! Stolen wages is SLAVERY!!! In California the statute of limitation for such lawsuits is 3 years. A stupid commentator wrote: "As a citizen of the USA you inherit the benefits and the debts of the Nation". Of course the National Debt (now > $30T) need to be paid off by the US taxpayers. However the accumulated back pay of the slaves is not part of the National Debt since at least 95% of back pay debts were incurred by individual slave owners, not by Government (Federal, State, local). While the federal and state governments used slave labor extensively, the actual title to the slaves was usually held by private individuals or entities. There were instances where government entities might directly own slaves, but these were not common. Again, looking at the law in California (a Progressive State), the statute of limitation on back pay disputes is 3 years, not 150 years. What we have here is a dispute about back pay for slaves, a dispute whose statute of limitation has long expired either on the level of State and of individual employer (slave owner). Well, the slave owner is long dead. But, but, but the slave owner's estate lives FOREVER to become mine, Mine, MINE!!! Nope. 95% chance the estate has been wiped away by the Civil War and of the surviving 5%, 99% chance it got wiped away by market forces in the following 100 years.

The Silliness that is the request for reparations. (pt 2 of 18) Demanding reparations for long past damages to ancestors (slavery) is stupid, moronic, short-sighted, and unwise. There was a limited time after the Civil War to demand legitimately for reparations for freed slaves from slave owners. OK, expropriate the wealth of the former slave owners and transfer said wealth to the freed slaves. History is tragic. The Civil War wiped out utterly the wealth of 99% of the former slave owners and many former slave owners were not land owners. Post-Civil War there was little to distribute to former slaves because nearly all southerners (Black, White) became destitute from the war. Who benefitted (financially, property-wise, wealth-wise) from the Civil War? Answer: the Northerners and they were not slave owners. But, but, but the evil Southern slave owners traded with the Northerners!!! The Northerners need to pay reparations!!! Nope. Said evil Southern slave owners traded also with people of Europe, Asia, South and Central America, even Africa. Should one demand reparations from Europe, Asia, South America, Central America, Africa, Australia? The source of slaves in the Americas was the African Continent. Africans selling off their ethnic siblings to slavery to the Western market (the Americas) and Eastern market (Muslim world) benefitted monetarily from the trade. Go demand reparations from the various African Nations. All African Nations will laugh at such demands for reparations. Go demand reparations from the various Muslim Nations. All Muslim Nations will laugh at such demands for reparations. Booker T. Washington (former slave) wrote about former slaves helping out their former owners who fell on hard times. Should said former slaves DEMAND reparations instead of helping the former owners? The slave revenge movies are popular today (2024 AD). A village has been totally destroyed by a tornado. God is guilty of this EVIL!!! Demand reparations from God!!! Such thoughts are idiotic. A village has been totally destroyed by a tornado. What to do? Wait until God provides reparations? Or would you get up and rebuild the village? Someone damaged either your person or your property. You have full rights to demand reparations from the guilty. However, tragically, the guilty is often destitute so what reparations can you get? Are you going to mourn your loss forever and never do anything? Back in the good old days, when someone cannot pay its debt, said person becomes a slave to the damaged person, slave to the person to whom the debt is owed. Are those demanding reparations yearning for the return of Slavery? In this case, Society at large to be slave to those demanding reparations?

The Silliness that is the request for reparations. (pt 3 of 18) Demanding reparations for long past damages to ancestors (slavery) is stupid, moronic, short-sighted, and unwise. Question: Should you suffer for the sins of your dead parents? Should you pay off the debts of your dead parents? Generational servitude is sustained by having children obligated for the debts of their parents: this is the history of poverty in 3rd world countries, aka s**th**e countries. There is an asymmetry. I am sure you are very eager to collect what is owed to your dead parents. Even if the debt is owed only to your dead great-great-great-grand parents. Underlying this eagerness is greed, NOT justice. This asymmetry makes one blind to the other party. You are not the sole party in society. Others (the other party) are also part of society. Question rephrased: Should the other party suffer for the sins of their dead parents? Should the other party pay off the debts of their dead parents or the debt of their great-great-great grand parents? Some reparations seekers may quote the Bible. Proverbs 3:27 = Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act. The problem is that nothing is owed to the reparation seekers who are just grifters looking for something for nothing. If someone was owed, it is the long-dead great-great-great-grand parents, NOT you. Justice. The issue of reparation is often linked to that of justice. When you go to court, you do not determine what Justice is. The Judge, the Court, the Jury decide what is Justice for you. You may not be satisfied with the Justice but if you want to stay a citizen in good standing with society, you have to ACCEPT the Judgement. What you are seeking is not so much Justice but Satisfaction. Satisfaction has more in common with Retribution than with Justice. Yes, you can appeal again and again and again and again. You just become a vexatious litigant and your standing in society diminishes. You become a liability, not an asset to society.

The Silliness that is the request for reparations. (pt 4 of 18) Demanding reparations for long past damages to ancestors (slavery) is stupid, moronic, short-sighted, and unwise. Think of the Bible as a collection of writings by the Ancients Sages, not so much the Word of God. >>>>> Deuteronomy 15 : 1 = At the end of every seven years you must cancel debts. Comment: The above verse refers to you who want reparations. If reparations is debt, cancel the debt. What is your valuation of the concept of "statute of limitations"? Forgiving debt benefits you more than the debtor because otherwise, you will be filled of Anger and Resentment which pave the Road to Evil. Who is more likely to be Evil: Angry Person? non-Angry Person? Forgiving debt after 7 years does not let the debtor off the hook. Having not paid the debt within 7 years, the debtor is most likely to request again for more money, more resources. Having earned its reputation for nonpayment of debts, subsequent requests from said debtor will be rejected. >>>>> Deuteronomy 15 : 3 = You may require payment from a foreigner, but you must cancel any debt your brother owes you. Comment: Who is supposed to pay this "reparation"? Which entity is supposed to pay this "reparation"? Do you consider this entity to be a foreigner or a sibling? With a foreigner, require the completion of the transaction and/or contract and then you and the foreigner part ways FOREVER. War between you and the foreigner may ensue. After hostilities, no more contact, no more contract with the foreigner. Case settled. With a sibling, you will continue living with the sibling FOREVER. Forcing complete debt payment from a sibling will raise Anger in said Sibling. You may have gotten Justice (in name only and only for yourself) and there is no Peace in the House (the Sibling will see to that there is No Peace). What do you value more: Justice? Peace? Do you consider the USA (i.e. the US citizenry) to be a foreigner or sibling? >>>>> Deuteronomy 15 :11 = There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your brothers and toward the poor and needy in your land. Comment: The above verse refers to you who want reparations. Instead of demanding "reparations", try to become an asset, not a liability, to your society. The mob's motto: No Justice, no Peace! Much of the violence, turmoil, dystopia in this World is caused by people pursuing JUSTICE!!!, pursuing COSMIC JUSTICE!!! Question: what do you value more: Justice? Peace?

The Silliness that is the request for reparations. (pt 5 of 18) Demanding reparations for long past damages to ancestors (slavery) is stupid, moronic, short-sighted, and unwise. An essay by Dr. Thomas Sowell "REPARATIONS FOR SLAVERY?" (pt 1 of 2) The first thing to understand about the issue of reparations for slavery is that no money is going to be paid. The very people who are demanding reparations know that it is not going to happen. Why then are they demanding something that they know they are not going to get? Because the demagogues themselves will benefit, even if nobody else does. Stirring up historic grievances pays off in publicity and votes. Some are saying that Congress should at least issue an official apology for slavery. But slavery is not something you can apologize for, any more than you can apologize for murder. You apologize for accidentally stepping on someone’s toes or for playing your TV too loud at night. But, if you have ever enslaved anybody, an apology is not going to cut it. And if you never enslaved anybody, then what are you apologizing for? The very idea of apologizing for what somebody else did is meaningless, however fashionable it has become. A scholar once said that the great economist David Ricardo “was above the unctuous phrases that cost so little and yield such ample returns.” Apparently many others are not. The only thing that would give the idea of reparations for slavery even the appearance of rationality is an assumption of collective guilt, passed down from generation to generation. But, if we start operating on the principle that people alive today are responsible for what their ancestors did in centuries past, we will be adopting a principle that can tear any society apart, especially a multi-ethnic society like the United States. Even if we were willing to go down that dangerous road, the facts of history do not square with the demand for reparations. Millions of immigrants arrived in this country from Europe, Asia and Latin America after slavery was over. Are their descendants guilty too and expected to pay out hard cash to redeem themselves? Even during the era of slavery, most white people owned no slaves. Are their descendants supposed to pay for the descendants of those who did?

The Silliness that is the request for reparations. (pt 6 of 18) Demanding reparations for long past damages to ancestors (slavery) is stupid, moronic, short-sighted, and unwise. An essay by Dr. Thomas Sowell "REPARATIONS FOR SLAVERY?" (pt 2 of 2) What about the effect of all this on today’s black population? Is anyone made better off by being supplied with resentments and distractions from the task of developing the capabilities that pay off in a booming economy and a high-tech world? Whites may experience a passing annoyance over the reparations issue, but blacks-especially young blacks-can sustain more lasting damage from misallocating their time, attention and efforts. Does anyone seriously suggest that blacks in America today would be better off if they were in Africa? If not, then what is the compensation for? Sometimes it is claimed that slavery made a great contribution to the development of the American economy, from which other Americans benefitted, so that reparations would be like back pay. Although slaveowners benefitted from slavery, it is by no means obvious that there were net benefits to the economy as a whole, especially when you subtract the staggering costs of the Civil War. Should the immoral gains of dead people be repaid by living people who are no better off than if slavery had never existed? The poorest region of the United States has long been the region in which slavery was concentrated. The same is true of Brazil-and was true of 18th century Europe. The world-wide track record of slavery as an economic system is bad. Slaveowners benefitted, but that is not saying that the economy as a whole benefitted. The last desperate argument for reparations is that blacks have lower incomes and occupations than whites today because of the legacy of slavery. Do the people who say this seriously believe that black and white incomes and occupations would be the same if Africans had immigrated voluntarily to this country? Scholars who have spent years studying racial and ethnic groups in countries around the world have yet to come up with a single country where all the different groups have the same incomes and occupations. Why would people from Africa be the lone exception on this planet? Groups everywhere differ too much in too many ways to have the same outcomes. Slavery itself was not unique to Africans. The very word “slave” derives from the name of a European people-the Slavs, who were enslaved for centuries before the first African was brought to the Western Hemisphere. The tragic fact is that slavery existed all over the world, for thousands of years. Unfortunately, irresponsible demagogues have also existed for thousands of years.

The Silliness that is the request for reparations. (pt 7 of 18) Demanding reparations for long past damages to ancestors (slavery) is stupid, moronic, short-sighted, and unwise. Walter Williams on Slave Reparations. Calls for slavery reparations have returned with the publication of Ta-Nehisi Coates' "The Case for Reparations" in The Atlantic magazine (May 21, 2014). In making his argument, Coates goes through the horrors of slavery, Reconstruction, Jim Crow and gross racial discrimination. First off, let me say that I agree with reparations advocates that slavery was a horrible, despicable violation of basic human rights. The gross discrimination that followed emancipation made a mockery of the guarantees of the U.S. Constitution. I also agree slave owners and slave traders should make reparations to those whom they enslaved. The problem, of course, is slaves, slave owners and slave traders are all dead. Thus, punishing perpetrators and compensating victims is out of the hands of the living. Punishing perpetrators and compensating victims is not what reparations advocates want. They want government to compensate today's blacks for the bondage suffered by our ancestors. But there's a problem. Government has no resources of its very own. The only way for government to give one American a dollar is to first - through intimidation, threats and coercion - confiscate that dollar from some other American. Therefore, a moral question arises. What moral principle justifies punishing a white of today to compensate a black of today for what a white of yesterday did to a black of yesterday? There's another moral or fairness issue. A large percentage, if not most, of today's Americans - be they of European, Asian, African or Latin ancestry - don't even go back three or four generations as American citizens. Their ancestors arrived on our shores long after slavery. What standard of justice justifies their being taxed to compensate blacks for slavery? For example, in 1956, thousands of Hungarians fled the brutality of the USSR to settle in the U.S. What do Hungarians owe blacks for slavery? There's another thorny issue: During slavery, some free blacks purchased other blacks as a means to free family members. But other blacks owned slaves for the same reason whites owned slaves - to work farms or plantations. Are descendants of these slaveholding blacks eligible for and deserving of reparations? When African slavery began, there was no way Europeans could have enslaved millions of Africans. They had no immunity from diseases that flourished in tropical Africa. Capturing Africans to sell into slavery was done by Arabs and black Africans. Would reparations advocates demand that citizens of Ghana, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Kenya and several Muslim states tax themselves to make reparation payments to progeny of people whom their ancestors helped to enslave? Reparations advocates make the foolish unchallenged argument the United States became rich on the backs of free black labor. That's nonsense that cannot be supported by fact. Slavery doesn't have a very good record of producing wealth. Slavery was all over the South, and it was outlawed in most of the North. Buying into the reparations argument about the riches of slavery, one would conclude the antebellum South was rich and the slave-starved North was poor. The truth of the matter is just the opposite. In fact, the poorest states and regions of our nation were places where slavery flourished - Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia - while the richest states and regions were those where slavery was absent: Pennsylvania, New York and Massachusetts. One of the most ignored facts about slavery's tragic history - and it's virtually a secret today - is that slavery was a worldwide institution for thousands of years. It did not become a moral issue until the 18th century. Plus, the moral crusade against slavery started in the West, most notably England. I think the call for slavery reparations is simply another hustle. Advocates are not demanding government send checks to individual black people. They want taxpayer money to be put into some kind of reparations fund from which black leaders decide who receives how much and for what purpose.

Hmmm. Just because a book is about a zebra, what it is starts with B! Not Z. Any of them who found books with the author’s name starting with the letter - yes. Title? Yes. Subject? Not unless it is the designated library location - “A” could be books in the Animal section if you have one, but it isn’t an animal. My taskmistress opinion (ruling?)

Will you be doing more on Etruscan art? I feel a gap in my education when it comes to the Etruscans. It seems like many things that are "Roman" are named or are historically Etruscan. I was really stuck by the "lifelike" figures both carved and painted in their tombs, as contrasted with the Egyptian formal, standardized physiques. While the Etruscans had systematized facial features there was a certain energy in their hands and front facing hair styles. I find it interesting that the double stack of pillows shows up in the painted and the carved tomb beds. I don't think I've ever seen pillows before that resemble what I am familiar with in daily life. The neck pillow of the Egyptians looks very uncomfortable, more like a hat stand or store display. Do you know, has anyone tried the experimental archaeologist's step of replicating the Etruscan beds or furnishings? Thanks so much.

Who K* ( Cruified ) Jesus Christ a Mexican, Chinese, Blackman, African, Indian, Asian, Eskimo, Indai, who rejected him the Jews and who K* Jesus Christ the white race not because of what he preached but simply because he didn't look and act like Dillion? ?Ruth ? It's impossible to make friends with White America Overall but on a individual basis it's possible? You can't make friends with them even Cruified Jesus Christ and that was the Son of God and he forgave them but they still hate anyone not born white ask Derrick Chauvin or Dillion Ruth.

With a great deal of respect please review your thesis regarding women’s tooth loss related to pregnancy. The concept of calcium loss as a cause of pregnancy loss of teeth involves the mutation of endemic bacteria related to oral hygiene practices coupled with refined sugars .., In the time period referred to then tooth loss for all people, health status aside, was due to the lack of scientific thought regarding pyrogenic bacteria prior to the 18th century. Just a thought .. loved the dialogue. Dr. Thaddous Archie

@Yolanda TweeDeep the concept of race, solely based on skin color is fairly knew. Before the 1600s to say someone was a Christian was synonymous to saying that they were White. Whiteness is an ideology. It comes from a distorted view of the Bilblical Scriptures. In the Bible, white is pure, clean, free of defilement, or even sin. Anyone with a knowledge of the Bible knows this is not true, because we are ALL descendants of Adam, and have inherited sin, regardless of our skin tone. However, logic has never prevented a social construct from being taught as fact. Chris Rock, the comedian, joked once that a poor white person would NEVER change places with him, even though he is rich. The reason is that being White in our society supersedes all else, even a rich black man.
