burial is influenced by very uk specific genres . two step, garage house, drum n bass....of course, aso dub / dubstep but a completely different kind of dubstep that is not very known in the us... the us / skrillex etc sound is very edm based... the uk dubstep is part of the whole history from breakbeat / jungle and the before mentioned. even skrillex changed his style recently , taking more of the uk influence into his music. some stuff that runs under that genre name for me sounds more like nu metal going idm festival.

Juna Serita is the goddess of jazz bass, Emi Kanazashi is the closet thing to Patrice Rushen I have ever heard and MiMi on drums gives me echoes of Buddy Rich. But the addition of Shinobu Kawashima playing the Japanese traditional instrument the Tsugaru Shamisen just takes it to another whole level never see or heard before and just fits seamlessly into the composition and gives it an entirely new feel. I'm pretty sure Steve Kupka, Emilio Castillo, John Garibaldi and the rest of Tower of Power would be very pleased. Tokyo and Osaka in Japan have an amazing jazz/funk scene worthy of anywhere on the planet.

Untrue is the sound of London at night. There’s not many albums that encapsulate the feeling and vibe of a place so completely but this is definitely one of them for me. I think the best experience of this album is listenting on headphones, on the night bus at 3/4 am on your way home from a rave the other side of London.
