The fact that this is a contractors mod is crazy. Contractors is like the Counter Strike of VR in that way. But yea, this plays pretty dang close and has unlock items too?.... Imagine a purpose built VR standalone? Id suck gaben toes man, id do a lot of things for it.

Woah woah woah whi said I played soilder or pyro? I do sometimes... I am bad (I main my pfp)

On the rare occasions I equip this weapon as pyro, it's because I've seen a few soldiers jumping around or a parachuting sticky demo. Then whenever I see the next jumper, I pull it out and think to myself "oh cool, 1.3x damage and no distance-damage-falloff, this is gonna be fat", and then sink a shot straight into them for a whopping 18 damage. Minicrits have those two properties: 1.3x damage and no damage falloff. How close you are to your foe influences which of these two properties is more important (what adds more to your base damage). Up close, 1.3x damage contributes more to your increased damage than falloff, but if you're far away no-falloff is _far_ more important. For most weapons, minicrits means you can get good damage at any range, but that just doesn't work with shotguns. Shotguns use pellets, and the further away your target, the fewer pellets will hit. In other words, your shotgun still suffers massive 'falloff' that the minicrit buff doesn't make up for. So if the reserve shooter isn't good at long range takedown of aerial targets, is it good at close range? Not really: if an aerial target bombs close to you (and maybe your team), don't you in most cases want to thwart their plan by airblasting them away? Enemies usually bomb when they have a big plan, like a medic kill, or a sniper kill, or a market garden. These plans are short and sharp in their execution, and the damage you get from the reserve shooter (up close, here) just isn't short and sharp enough to thwart it, but airblast is, and is far more reliable. Does anyone know a genuine situation where this weapon is more fun to use than the regular shotgun? The only two things I can think of is if you have braindead soldiers on the other team, and you're able to airblast their rockets at their feet and then take the combo damage. Maybe if you're up against a deonator phlog pyro and you want to get in a good chunk of damage, before you die, as they're jumping at you with crits, since (I don't think) airblast is quick enough to stop you getting killed anyway.

Unironically panic attack is better for this, faster switch, better damage at point blank and more pellets so... even if your aim is terrible you will hit some anyways

Why not use the panic attack instead of the reserve shooter for this? It has a faster switch speed.

The Reverse Shooter: Reduced damage against targets launched by explosions etc This weapon deploys 20% slower +34% clip size
