I’m trying to remember, what are all the maps you’ve created? I have Cairo, Country Side, Last Stand, Uphill, Ocean View. I feel I might be missing a few…

Life's been good... I've been working on a renegade reimagined project off and on for years. Last stand was my last map, and I think one of my best too. Maybe a flying version for my project :) I'll have to get a list of all my maps. I forget some of them too. I'll reply here when I put together a master list of maps. Prison camp, mutant lab, and kane's castle was some DM ones I made.

Oh I remember that name! Ready to jump on Memory Lane? I remember when this map came out on Renbattle on Gamespy. The other version was flying at night time, but since the buildings did not have blockers on top, everyone used Apaches or Orcas to fly into the smoke stacks on the Power Plant to plant an Ion or Nuke. It was guaranteed game over at that point haha! I know similar issues like this were on a lot of other vanilla flying maps, and Westwood patched it to fix it. Did you correct that yourself with the daytime version?

@@trunkskgb I don't know where the tooling is at right now when it comes to updating anything Renegade related.

Well that map itself is a new version of Land, so if you join a server that runs it, it will automatically download for you. :) Additional HD options such as purchase terminals, etc…. A lot can be found here… multiplayerforums.com/files/ There is also an entire mod that is in progress that will convert the entire game to HD. I myself am redesigning one of my own maps to have HD textures.

You can login to W3D, you can use Renlist, AND you can connect through the original online multiplayer by launching the exe file itself, but instead of finding servers on the Westwood option, you’d click Gamespy. What game version do you have?

Nice! It’s suffered over the years, but with it being packaged multiple times over the years, and Steam being the most recent, a lot of old players are returning.

You can join servers 3 ways. Renlist, W3D Hub launcher, or through the game itself, but choose Gamespy instead of Westwood to find available servers.

They are about only 2-3 active servers anymore but marathon usually stays pretty full thanks to steam release, I believe you'll need to download Siberian technologies scripts and put in Rene game folder to let you play though.

Hmm, what part of the story are you at? If I remember correctly, the story itself forces you to sleep, then you hear/see Irene, then upon exit she joins your party. “Sometimes” she gets an awesome magic stat that makes her boss, I only use her if it’s a good stat.

I shouldn’t have joined, all this does is just promote selfish goals. Most points, most kills, with neither team putting the group 1st. Even when GDI rushed, my lone Flame Tank beat their asses. 90 mins of point less fighting

@@trunkskgb are you saying that marathon promotes selfish behavior? I agree if that’s the case. I’d also say Mara removes the urgency aspect and the importance of making the right team decisions so you don’t lose your base or lose by points However, those people getting lots of kills does do something for the team. They’re killing repairs, people infiltrating from tunnels, and enemy snipers who are also trying to kill your repairs. They make that kind of impact without realizing it even though they’re doing it because it’s also fun. I can’t say the same thing about pointwhores

Selfish yes, all I did was repair for 90 mins and I got damn near max level. It got boring. I would have rather played three 30 minute matches, than 90 on defense.

@@VerryLongName Honestly its a 50/50 tossup with snipers, they're either shooting everything or just farming free inf kills with no goal no push no teamplay. Pointwhores are the same branch as these "selfish snipers" in that they just try and stay high on the scoreboard, they don't care that high points mean you FAILED to kill a building for a very long time.

@@hughmungus8340 A couple skilled snipers increases the team's chances of victory, especially if the other team has them. Every team needs slayer type players to protect the tanks and repairs from enemy infantry. Now if you have a lot of snipers on your team, some of whom are not good or too inconsistent, that's another story. They don't get the same results as skilled ones Pointwhores are worse in marathon because they only make the other team use up a few slots for MCT repair. They usually just shoot one building. It's actual mindless play
