Thanks for this demonstration. 👌🏼
My pleasure!
Great job, I've been looking for something like this as I mainly do interviews.
It works well, but isn’t perfect
U got it🎉🎉🎉🎉 gimbal
well done, ua-cam.com/video/q2uJi6WoFu0/v-deo.html
Shimbol has a recording touch screen monitor that will give you the option to play back your clips. I'm currently using the Hollyland Mars M1 Enhanced but it cost $499 brand new and the shimbol is $269.
My film school had one of these for us to use in our last year. It is so beautiful but nothing beats filming on tape for me. Old school
I got a xlcr Cage for mine.
What do you think? Is it worth $170?
@@rockobitterman8993 it’s worth, check out my community section I have a picture of it in a top down position when I’m streaming.
I really like your color correction, looks like a movie should i say
I typically apply a BM Film to Rec 709 then do adjustments and apply a Fuji D25 film LUT at the end
awesome video! thank you! would love to hear more thoughts after youre using it for a while. Btw you can change the gain to be displayed as iso like on the pocket 4k. dual natives are the same on both of them. keep up the good work! <3
also stoked to see some 4kg2 tokio footage! :)
Yes would love updates 👍

Not much and only in 1080p.
Your B-Roll looks great, especially of the cat. You should get a cage for it.
Thanks for the feedback! Thinking about it.
How is this better for travel than your BMPCC 4K that you already have? It's lighter, yes. But with all those cables sticking out of it + handle + monitor it's not smaller footprint. Also it's not very fun or convenient to use outside the studio.
Good question - I’m pairing this with my Canon R5 for travel. I could take just one but I want to see if I can make it work. Maybe I’ll do a video of a side by side for my final build.
I need to make a little video of mine. I rigged one out. Mic jack sucks is the only thing I’ve noticed so far.
That’s one thing I haven’t tested - I have separate audio recorders (Rode, Zoom, etc) that I would record audio to. The internal mics aren’t great.
You can split the usb-c with any type c hub.
Music too loud mic not loud enough Too much noise from mic
Thanks for the feedback!
Interesting use case for the G2. Reminds me of how I initially used the og bmpcc. Looking forward to seeing how your journey with the camera goes
Thank you!
Love you cat. Thanks for the review. Chers!
You are so welcome!
I'm in a very niche (and not budget friendly) situation where I'm looking to shoot stop motion with the anamorphic look and this video has given me some hope
I think when you get into camera movement, it might get a little tougher - I enjoy using anamorphics on stop motion, and I hope you have success.
The R6 mkii have the same problem with anamorphic lenses? Thanks.
After looking at some of the image stabilization in the R6, I know now that a lot of that needs to be turned off to avoid the jiggle effect.
Try it on the BMPCC please
When I put it on my R6, for some reason the camera wont record. Think this is a firmware issue? Wondering if you had the same issue with any of the Sirui anamorphic lenses.
Did you disable the feature to "release the shutter without lens"? See ua-cam.com/video/CrS-4CNxCc4/v-deo.html This feature must be enabled for a manual lens like the Sirui to work.
Zaplita has it right.
You just got me to buy this lens. Need to consider this lens instead of Sigma 16mm mft mount.
Can it start stop movie over the cable? I check compatibility and cant see any control possible?
I don’t believe so
I thought I could finess it, but I am having exact same issues
Hi, I have bought the Sirui 50 mm lens and put it on my Canon R6. But when I want to record, the rec button doesn't work? Why is this happening? Anyone else having the same problem? I also tried the lens on my Canon C, everything works fine there. So I wonder if there is a setting on my R6 that I have overlooked?
You need to enable the camera to operate with a manual lens. If the camera does not detect an electrical connection to the lens, it won’t trigger the shutter. If you Google it, it should come up easily.
enable shutter release without a lens attached, as the sirui does not put out an electrical signal to the camera telling it that it is there.
Was this with the f1.8? Or t2.9
2.9
Has the updated firmware helped?
I’ve been intentional with being slow and not panning too much.
The footage looks great though
Thanks
For me zoom f2 sounds better than others
I do love it.
Audio suck asf
Interesting.
I’m guessing this is the exact reason they took IBIS out of it he R5C… thanks for the info!
One can disable it for more reliable footage
Thanks for the video. I noticed your aspect ratio. I’m guessing it was 2.4:1? I’m trying to use this setting in my camera testing it for the first time and I realized that it artificially creates the black bars at the top and bottom. Is this what it is supposed to do? I thought that it would just record in that native aspect. Thanks!
If you export your footage to the aspect ratio you want to display, then UA-cam will present in that format.
@@rockobitterman8993 Thank you!
I'm surprised with your title of the video. What is the "myth" of 32 bit audio ? I bought a couple of these right after they came out, and I find that they are perfect. My only complaint is I have to sync up the track with the camera track. But if I clap 3 times, it's a pretty easy thing to do so sync everything up. I have nothing bad to say about the F2. For the price, they're perfect.
After using them for a number of videos, I have a technique down for syncing audio - involves me clicking my tongue. As for the myth, if you don't have an NLE that supports 32 bit audio or you don't have a 32 audio track, it doesn't benefit the creator.
I Recording on 50 fps and ibis on to 12 mm and problems gone.
12mm lens?
Good job man. You're on your way!!!
Thank you!
Nice review, but cut out the music on your next video, or at least turn the volume down
Thanks for the guidance
Strange. I have seen video about the r6 where you can use the under slung movement with a full range and without bumping on the motor
I can get away with the RP in under slung, but when I balance the R6 with the 50mm, it gets to the point where the viewfinder hits the back motor.
A really disingenuous title as it seems that the issue is with the camera and the effect will be there regardless which brand of Anamorphic lens you use. If I was Sirui, I would insist that you change the title.
Fair point. I think the combo of the anamorphic lens and the Canon IBIS system makes it more exaggerated. My Sirui MFT lenses on my ZCams and BMPCC do not have the exaggerated anamorphic wobbles.
No evening or night samples... boring.
Thanks for the feedback - when I do another review I’ll be sure to include night samples.
Thank you for taking the time to do this. This is definitely my next lens.
Its a fun lens.
Have an R5, and I have no issues with wobbles. I've got a jiujitsu video I shot, fast paced, hand held on my channel Caffeine & Cameras.
I will check that out!
I hope that in the meanwhile you have figured out how the deadcat is intended to be attached properly :) You need to pull it with a bit of force so that it clicks into that slit on the barrel of the microphone. Once it does that it is solid and will not fall off :) Also, the wire needs to be secured into one of the slits on the screw on the shockmount.
Dead cat was resolved a few minutes into use. I don’t think the attachment to the cold shoe mount is a necessity, but I’ll try it.
what adapter did you use for this sir?
The lens is a M4/3 native to my Blackmagic and my ZCam.
@@rockobitterman8993 thanks sir
Good review. Keep going dude °¬)
Thank you! I have a number of new items from the Holidays to make content about.
@@rockobitterman8993 Great stuff, your content has improved 1000% since your earlier vids mate! Subbed by the way °¬)
This is r6 problem. Sensor stabilization shit for vide in r6 :( Cant handle anamorphic squeeze factor this is why you see this. Just turn off and rig up your setup/gimbal. :(
That was my assumption. I was hoping the R6 wobble wouldn’t be so bad, but I can always adjust. Thanks for the comment.
Only the Panasonic Lumix series is ready for anamorphic shooting. Has: anamorphic recording mode, Anamorphic stabilisation (1,30x, 1,33x, 1,5x, 1,8x, 2,0x) and desquising the picture on the display.
I hear a lot of good things about Panasonic cameras. My first production camera was a DVX100.
yeah i have the S5, and there can be a bit of wobbles, but i *think* that was because i forgot to turn on the anamorphic stabilization. i've been shooting more on the gimbal (weebill-s) in slung mode, and it's pretty darn good.
The Red Komodo is also reasonably qualified. Don't think it has IBIS, but cinema cameras typically don't
I have zcam e2 and no problem as I don’t have ibis and there is reason for that 😜
@@wojciechkopec9728 I have anamorphic lenses for my ZCams and BMPCC. The do not have IBIS and I haven’t seen this issue on those cameras.
Nice video seems your handle is in reverse position but it's okay if you're comfortable with that position thanks anyway keep it up
Honestly I have it that way because it feels better in my hand. I’ve tried it in both sides and settled with it that way.
This is rolling shutter exaggerated by the anamorphic ratio
True true.
Nice review! 🤙 I'm a fellow of the Canon R6 user, with the same lens 😁
How do you like it so far?
@@rockobitterman8993 I like the look in general, and the glass is great and sharp. I’m not sure I like the green flares you’ll get when the blue coating they used, mixes with a warm toned light. The lens do have some design flaws. The alignment and placement of the mount underneath is a little bit off.
Hi Rocko, thanks for this great review. This wobbling issue is nothing is nothing special with the Sirui lens. Instead, this is typical for any anamorphic lens by the principle how the image gets compressed in the horizontal direction (which increases from the center to the left and right edges. This leads to two issues (and you are facing both of them with your Canon): a) If the IBIS does not have an anamorphic mode it will translate every little shake into a sensor movement to compensate - unfortunately, the effect of the sensor movement will have different effect along the horizontal axis. b) Even worse, when ever you rotate the camera around the lens axis the squeeze of the picture will get out of the horizontal direction, meaning that the picture will squeeze diagonally a little bit. If you consider that most modern IBIS systems also compensate for rotational jitter of the camera things become even worse, resulting in that wobble you observed. As you say; IBIS off and smooth movements without letting the camera rotate unintenionally.
Thanks for the feedback. I haven’t noticed as much with my other Sirui lenses on my Blackmagic and ZCam, but I think I will test those out some more also.
@@rockobitterman8993 Hi Rocko, I guess it's because those cameras have no IBIS, right? IBIS & anamorphic is no good fit at all.
Hello, congratulations beautiful video, I am starting to record some videos with the Canon R6 and the same lens, I wish you much success, greetings.
Thank you. I hope you share those on UA-cam and I’ll keep an eye out for those!
Have you had any issues with recording onto the T5 yet?
Not one issue on my BMPCC or my ZCam
@@rockobitterman8993 I’m having screen issues on my P4K so considering jumping ship to the m4. Could you give me any advise?
It could be the cable that connects the T5. I would suggest that you use the Black Magic Disk Speed application and check the read write speeds. The ZCam has more issues supporting the T5, so changing might not help.
How don't you have more subscribers?
Thanks
