We had 2 days of great diving in Anilao, Batangas, Philippines with my 2 brother-in-laws doing 4 discovery dives in total. However, we had a near miss incident during our 2nd dive of day 1 when one of the divers in our group signaled that he was already out of air.

This was our 7th dive of a two diving day trip to Apo Reef in Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro. We spent about 30 minutes in this dive site which is very shallow at maximum depth of maybe around 12 meters. It is a beautiful dive site covered by both hard and soft corals with a small swim through that is perfect for practicing your buoyancy. To know more about our Apo Reef adventure (costs, place to...

The DSD is more comprehensive, and Dana was allowed to be on her own under close supervision of the instructor. Juliana on the other hand was fully assisted and enjoyed sightseeing underwater. Both of them did two dives despite the bad visi...

Nice video. We live here on Camiguin and love mantigue. I'm certified free diver but think much better to enjoy the depths with scuba. I'm friends with the guys at Soul Divers. Looking forward to better visibility coming up July through november
Thank you. I hope I can comeback soon and dive the other sites around Camiguin!
Amazing. Thank you for sharing an informative video. Do you recommend having a rental car or just hire drivers every stop if we start in Puerto Galera?
Thanks for watching! Hope you subscribe! Unfortunately I do not have info on the option of hiring at every stop. We brought our own cars for convenience, as we have all our dive gears and camera with us. It would be too cumbersome to transfer from one transport to another. Enjoy Puerto Galera and Apo Reef!
Nice diving! The visibility appears to be simply spectacular! We are planning on visiting this September, 2024. How are the folks at Souldivers?
We stayed in a different resort and used souldivers for our diving needs. They are good and familiar with the divesites. Thanks for watching and I hope you subscribe. Enjoy Camiguin!

Depende sir kung certified ka na or hindi pa. Kung certified nag range yan sa PhP1500 to 2000 per dive. Hindi pa kasama renta ng gear. Mas mura kung marami kasi hati hati sa boat.
Good informative post, lots of prices & descriptions. Hope to return to the Philippines later in the year & found your info' very useful, which I'll probably use to put business the way of the companies you mentioned. I'm also puzzled as to what that "telephone" hand signal meant, wasn't in our BSAC manuals back when I was certified in the 1970's!
Thanks Nigel. We actually did a 7th dive which is a 30 min shipwreck dive. It is also within Apo reef. Will post a video in a while. Enjoy the Philippines and I hope you subscribed!
I am planning on coming to the philipines to learn to dive, if you had your choice what would be your choice? I have benn looking into Duan, Anilao, Puerto Galera, El Nido or Maybe Cebu? I'm really want to see some amazing reefs.
Hi Wade. Have not been to Puerto Galera and Cebu, hence I cannot comment on these locations. Duan ( is this Dauin?) is mostly sand. If you want reefs there is a nice divesite known as Apo Island about 30 mins by boat from Dauin. I have a youtube video on this. Anilao is a good area as well to learn scuba. Plenty of nice reefs in the area. You can check divers.ph for their rates.
Cool!!! Congrats Dana and Jj on your first dive ❤
What time of year was this ?
Hi Michelle. This was taken in June 2023. Hope you enjoyed the video and subscribed to my channel.
Thank you so much! We are heading to Bali in a few weeks and getting certified and plan to go here to Dive
@@michellefolster9750 Have fun!
what is the water proof casing you are using for the tg6?
Seafrogs rated at 60m depth.
how deep is the diving there?
My max depth in one of the dives is 32m. Max depths on the other dives are between 25 to 27m. We had a tech diver in the group who went deeper. A lot of interesting things to see even at shallower depths. The area is literally covered with corals. Hope you enjoyed and subscribed to my channel.
I am planning on getting open water and advanced open water diver i March of 25. I was thinking of doing it out of Duan, One of the Dive resorts there. Do you think that is a good area for a new diver or could you recommend another place in the Philippines?
@@redroses209 where are you based? Is it Dauin? Dauin is mostly for macro diving with lots of sand and muck. I am from Manila and my closest dive site is anilao. In Anilao expect more corals. Lots of resorts offering dive courses in both areas.
I was thinking of getting open and advanced open within the first week I am there and then signing up for one of the liveaboards for a whole week. Out of Puerta Princessa. Do you have any recommendations for shops to do the dive courses at?@@scubadad
@@redroses209 Just make sure to keep on diving before your liveaboard. The first 20 dives will be a lot of adjustments in terms of managing your bouyancy, gears, etc. When in the liveaboard, stick close to the DM/ guide. Most importantly, have fun.

Wow! Clear viz and colorful critters! Thank you ScubaDad for this fantastic video!
Thank you, too. We always enjoy diving from Casa Bahia.
Nice informative dive video. This 'gangsta' 'I'm holding a telephone' signal. Is this a real PADI thing? Or have they made it up? I'm BSAC, it's not one of ours!!
Thanks for the positive comment. Not sure of the certifying agency of our European friends but they were having a great time😁
I'm hoping to dive the Philippines later in 2024 & being a 1970's trained diver & also wondered what that u/w hand signal meant! Topside "gangsta" signals are meaningless to me!
@@nigelhaines404 😂😅🤣We're getting old Nigel! I'd love to take my old Spiro twin hose and get them to share on a 20m ascent!? Or give the signal 'I can't pull my reserve'!!

There are lots of boats at manta point and it may not be safe to snorkel. Best to contact a travel guide since there are spots for snorkelers where you can still get to see a manta. Thank you for subscribing😁👍
Greetings. What was the depth that videos were taken?
Between 6 to 23 meters only
I'm planning to go this December/Jan, will that be good timing? please advise. Also any dive center can recommended? Thanks
Im not from Bali, so Im not really the best person to answer. However, various sites said best time to dive Bali is between May to November. I beleive you will see mantas all year round, but best in April and May while mola mola will be from August to November. We have only tried Bali Aqua dive center and I highly recommend them based on our experience. Thanks for watching
