Boneless chicken is amazing. 😂 On a serious note, thank you for being so vulnerable and sharing your story. While your bishop's reaction to your experience is wrong and sad, I'm happy you were able to still move forward with faith. Your example is so encouraging and beautiful!

While I'm sorry others go through this, I'm grateful to hear their stories. My mantra has definitely become 'Give it to God, Give it to God, Give it to God.'

Tiffany’s story about reading the talk, recognizing herself as a Daughter of God, and receiving validation from the missionaries brought me to tears. It’s amazing how much purpose and meaning can come into our lives by learning our divine identity and feeling God’s love for us. President Nelson said during this recent conference, “Every sincere seeker of Jesus Christ will find Him in the temple. You will feel His mercy. You will find answers to your most vexing questions. You will better comprehend the joy of His gospel.” I believe there are indeed vexing questions in life, like the very personal ones raised in this episode, that only Jesus Christ can help us answer through the guidance of the Spirit. I admire Tiffany for her courage in sharing the truth she has gained from her experiences, and for wisely pointing out that advice from friends and family, though well-meaning, can sometimes be hurtful. Below is a quote from a great talk I read recently that I feel applies to helping loved ones who are hurting: "Let us follow the Savior’s path and increase our compassion, diminish our tendency to judge, and stop being the inspectors of the spirituality of others. Listening with love is one of the greatest gifts we can offer, and we may be able to help carry or lift the heavy clouds that suffocate our loved ones and friends so that, through our love, they can once again feel the Holy Ghost and perceive the light that emanates from Jesus Christ." - Thru Cloud and Sunshine, Lord, Abide with Me! We do not have to read all the negativity, nor engage with the anti's very much. There is much good to do, many people to help, many charities to engage in many to visit, many to cheer up. All those things are lies and the adversary wants us to treat those people as if they were sincere. God will take care of everything. However, many in our communities and new members in third-world countries need food and encouragement. What your friend said that her ward did for her is what the gospel is all about. Service, love, and kindness require time and we have a limited amount of time. so all these comments are there to confuse and to make us waste our time. The gospel is beautiful eternal and wonderful. You are doing great work!

People that leave the church do it for only 2 reasons. 1. What commandment couldn't they follow. 2. People mocking from surrounding buildings. Those that actually learn about the gospel and faithfully adhere to ots laws realize , if they dont have the gospel, there is nowhere else to go. The teachings of christ are all embodied in his established church. Everyone on the outside is on nothing more than a mouse wheel. I know, I've seen it from both sides. Without the light of God we are blind so much we cant even see where were standing.

I've been talking to my 8-year-old this week about peacemakers and even mentioned President Nelson's story about the surgeon throwing a scalpel at his arm ("Peacemakers Needed," April 2023). It can often be difficult to choose the path of peacemaking when we feel contentious emotions. I remember a boy in my junior high band class who was known for stealing music books from other students. One day, I was his victim, and I went home feeling upset, explaining to my mom what had happened. She paused and surprised me with a suggestion I was not expecting. We went to the music store and purchased a music book for this boy, as my mom suggested that perhaps he didn’t have one of his own. The next day, he was very surprised when I handed him the book. From that day on, there was no more conflict with him regarding music books. As members of the Church, we can stand as a positive example of peacemaking, even when the world might teach us to get even with those who wrong us. "Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God" (Matthew 5:9). We can emulate our Father in Heaven as we develop Christlike attributes.

why i stay...........elder lawrence e. corbridge in his talk " stand forever " asked the same question as the original apostles , " where will we go ? thou hast the words of eternal life.......". elder corbridge says " if you leave , where will you go " ?. answer the four PRIMARY QUESTIONS , and all the secondary questions will fade and disappear. why do i stay ? because i have a SPIRITUAL witness that TRUTH is spoken here. as PAUL says , " these things are spiritually discerned ". most people who leave , like members of my own family , have never had , or have lost that witness of the spirit.

I love how he acknowledges that there are some tricky topics surrounding the church, but makes the important point that this trickiness is not unique to the church and in fact is often better here than elsewhere. One thing that comes to mind is how we occasionally hear stories of child abuse within the church, which is awful and should never happen ever. The fact is, though, we are dealing with people, and the only way to eradicate problems completely is for God to remove our agency, which He has demonstrated is against His design. I listened to an interview with a woman who studied child abuse, and she said that she went through the Boy Scouts records because that was one place where such records are accessible. She found that although the church had 30% of Boy Scout troops and leaders, the church only had 5% of Boy Scout abuse cases. She said that many of the church’s standard practices actually serve as defenses against abuse. I knew having church callings by assignment was one, but she said even things like ward boundaries and keeping membership records, while possibly instituted for logistical reasons, serve as protections to ward members against those who might be unscrupulous. I do believe that things are better in the church than in the world. We all have work to do, but one of the things that the gospel of Jesus Christ teaches us is to stand for His truth and to serve His children. As we come unto Him, we can improve the world at large as well as the church. It works!

Thank you for bringing that point up. This is Simone (from the interview clip you just watched). When I am talking about staying “in the church” what I mean by that phrase is staying with Jesus Christ. Honoring and obeying him and all of His commandments. Serving Him and serving others. I believe Christ has commanded us to keep the sabbath day holy and partake of the sacrament which is done at our Sunday church services. So it’s not the community, it’s not the bishop or anyone else I am there for. Ultimately it is Jesus Christ. I believe He gave authority to men on earth and organized a church so His doctrine could remain pure and true. The church I belong to is the one that I believe Christ is at the head of. So it is Him I follow. His church.

I was born prematurely with my twin brother. My twin contracted meningitis one of the many times we were in the hospital and graduated from this life one day short of one month old. I was the small of the two of us and born with a visual impairment. My parents taught my siblings and me about the plan and how those who die in infancy are those who were to pure, special to stay on this earth, and all they needed is to be born to recieve their body. This experience and teaching would become very valuable years latter when mt second child was 21 months old. My son graduated from mortality in the middle of the night from a undiagnosed birth defect. When I was told of his passing and returning home from work and the day. Weeks and years since I have reliied on the strength and comfort the Atonement of Jesus Christ which makes the saving of these little ones in the celestial kingdom possible gives me. I love the talk give the month before my son's passing through the veil in the oct 2012 general conference by Elder Shane Bowen.

I love the principle that 'belief is a choice'. As my boy Brandon Sanderson said in Hero of Ages: "To believe, it seemed, one had to want to believe. It was a conundrum, one <this character> wrestled with. He wanted someone, something, to force him to have faith. He wanted to have to believe because of the proof shown to him. Yet, the believers whose words now filled his mind would have said he already had proof. ... Was it chance? Was it providence? In the end, apparently, it was up to him to decide. ... I do want to believe, he thought. That's why I've spent so much time searching. I can't have it both ways. I simply have to decide. ... Some important decisions were made on a battlefield or in a conference room. But others happened quietly, unseen by others. That didn't make the decision any less important. <This character> would believe. Not because something had been proven to him beyond his ability to deny. But because he chose to." Anyway, it's one of the most beautiful and compelling character arcs I have ever read in fiction.

I listened to this episode three times. What a wonderful example of leaning on what you know as you live out what you’re not sure of yet. I love every bit of her story, but I especially loved her faith in wearing the temple garment and how that became part of her testimony. It honestly never occurred to me that that was something we could have a testimony of or that it could be part of our testimony, but it is a big thing, isn’t it? I think I need to study it more, I feel like there’s probably a lot there that I’m not fully understanding yet

My wife has a friend who was Catholic who joined in her twenties because my wife was an awesome example. Well this new saint married an airman and each place she was tested over and over. She even went through a divorce and in her lowest point turned back to drinking.... Then that wonderful friend that introduced her to the gospel, a long friend, my wife gently reminded her of the reason why she, her dear friend, joined in the first place. So overwhelmed with the Spirit she cleaned her life again and is now an active member again.

What an amazing story of the power of Jesus Christ in our lives, that we can be a part of bringing others to Him and also being able to lean on Him to cleanse us. Thanks for sharing ❤

Morgan Evans: I can picture your story so clearly because my son was also born with Ebstein Anomaly, and the beginning of our story is much like yours. I have many times over the years when talking about Primary Children's Medical Center mistakenly referred to it as "the temple", perhaps because of the many spiritual things that happened during that time. One thing I was told (from the other side) while we were fasting to know if we should let the doctors do a heart transplant, was that before he was born my son made a choice to sacrifice to come to earth to help our family draw closer to each other through the challenges that came through his heart problems. I was also told that if we did not, then his sacrifice would be in vain. The experiences I had while we were there were some of the most spiritual experiences of my life. I was only 24 years old but I was taught how clearly Heavenly Father and Christ know all things, and because they do, it is easier for me to trust and accept their will. Thank you so much for your testimony and for sharing your story. I remember how important it was to me to be able to go to Sacrament Meeting while in the hospital, and I still feel the same urgency. Church was important before this experience but through these life changing trials I have come to realize the depth of what it means to me. Christ is everything. He is my family's only hope. He is Why I Stay. He is also why I share my stories of Him. There may be negative and unbelieving comments, but someday all will know Him. They may either choose Him or decide to walk away, but I hope they choose Him, because He is the only one who can give comfort in this world of hurt and pain and suffering.

I've not heard of you Chanel and it just showed up, 8-14-24. The spiritual strength coming forth from his words thrill this 66 year old widower of 3 years. It had been hard but not as hard, in my mind, as loosing a child would be. Our greatest strength is the plan our father has shown us and the family we have around us. In the eloquent words of the 70's keep-on-keepin-on.❤❤❤
