As much as the people want to incorporate a skate park into a community park, realistically a skate park is its own entity and safety wise should not be incorporated into a park with a walk/bike trail. The urban farm with edible trees sounds nice for a local food market for the East side which has a food desert. The skate park should not be directly under the bridge because of safety and should be moved to another parcel of land. I come from a town with a skate park that requires a lot of cement and you have to consider during floods and weather events how a skate park will affect the park. It will collect the water like a giant pool. The park should give enough green space for recreational activities and maybe consider some elevation like what exists at the San Antonio botanical garden and provide a walking connection to the Hays Street Bridge.

No mention of the importance of diversity and no mention that citrus plants provide larval food for butterflies.

The trails along the creeks and the Museum Reach and Mission Reach trails are one of the many reasons I love San Antonio.

I hope the big "disconnect" will be fixed too. From Jack White to Holbrook. Otherwise South and East side riders cant take the trail all the way, unless you risk your life on IH35 to get around the base and Binz Engleman. It would be great for the trail to go direct from Southside Lions all the way to McAllister, connecting the city, and allowing cyclists to avoid highways and dangerous streets. Otherwise great job on the trail improvements and upkeep.

Any idea when the construction begins for the connection of the south and north trails along Holbrook drive?
