    On facebook I see a lot of people furious about it and they want to make lab grown meat illegal. I'm still on the fence about LGM, but it's absolutely insane to me that people want it to be illegal! They can't simply not eat it, they have to make sure nobody else does either! Maybe there's an element I'm not seeing, but to me this type of thinking is on par with a 10 year old kid who's had too much mountain dew and too little sleep.

    edible wild animals such as whitetail deer which i love to hunt, and livestock animals, and all of the fishes in the sea, altogether reproduce faster than any factory lab will ever be able to manufacture lab grown meat. So from the perspective of someone like me who loves hunting, fishing, and has been around ranching though I am not a rancher… the more important question is, the much more important question in my opinion is will “they” be successful with all of their propaganda and banning people natural and inalienable right to provide for themselves and their families with real food and real meat which actually sustains itself and reproduces itself fast than any laboratory evil? Because it does appear that “they” have had some modicum of success in convincing people that all the animals are going extinct, which they definitely are not.

    This is nonsense. Grow the meat on a pasture where it can do what it's always done, provide both the earth AND humans with the nutrients both must have, participating in the natural and hopefully perpetual cycles which have been going on for MILLions of years.

    There's more in meat than just protein. The absorption rates for its plant substitutes are horrible. So unless you plan on living under a funnel feeding you. There is no replacing real meat. Vegan/Vegetarian diet carries its health risks as well... this has been very extensively documented.

    The "red meat causes cancer" scare is a meta study by the WHO, it's like 90% #inmice and the rest are epidemiological studies where ppl have to answer a questionaire. Ppl usually eat their meat with coke and french fries, and some mcflurry afterwards. High protein + sugar do cause cancer, so it's not completely wrong. But in the case of meat and cancer it's more complicated. If you're a mouse, and you live in a lab where someone else controls your food and you can get 20 years old, you might get cancer. None of the mice actually got cancer, they got killed beforehand and then someone measured their cancer markers. They also didn't get to eat meat but blood sausage.

    Appreciate the video. I'm open to lab-grown meats, and I'm not in any way vegan. My concern is that we keep finding things that we thought we knew that just aren't true. Is lab-grown meat really the same as actual meal? We don't know, but unfortunately, we probably can't know unless we take a leap of faith to try it out. Take plastic for example. It was (and really is if you stop to think about it) a miracle product. It took decades of actual use to figure out (or at least to make it public knowledge) that it's also really bad. But to do nothing is to accept that this is the best it's ever going to be, so I'm willing to try lab-grown meat.

    • @coryascott
      @coryascott 5 днів тому

      At its conception, lab meat is already different. The cells are growing on a manmade incubator or petri dish, not an egg or within the biological body of an animal with millions of other body substances surrounding the muscle. There's no oxygen supply given by the heart nor filtration process provided by the lungs. Just tubes by machines Protections and environmental factors can be imitated, but not totally replicated. Maybe it's all irrelevant and can work just as well, but I'm not going to entertain it. When humans try to play God, both in media and real life, it tends to go badly

    The reason why we don't "need" lab-grown meat is simple: no one needs to eat meat at all. I'd rather stick to a beans-and-rice diet than have some pretentious jagoff in a lab coat who's never even been on a farm make my food.

    Cool, let's break the carbon cycle right at the point where the co2 gets sequestered back into the soil, what could go wrong? Mono-cropping sure isn't depleting the soil of it's nutrients, and even if it was, we have the always ethical Monsanto (Bayer) to rely on, they can sell waste products to farmers instead of having those pesky living creatures.

      Interesting take... As I recall, it was that Charlie had this gated pad riff (the iconic lead sound/synth/melody of the track) that was shelved. He dusted it off and that became the track. @@brendyd7 Yeah Xpander started off as an unfinished Spooky track. So if you want to say Charlie made it - well yeah he did, but Sasha helped realise it into a finished idea. A lot of people seem to get their knickers in a knot about how much the producers that work with Sasha did, or did not do in the studio - I don't get why because the tracks wouldn't exist without Sasha's ideas and input. Take Tom Frederiske for example - if you listen to any if his solo productions, they sound exactly the same as the Sasha remixes he worked on, but he was realising Sasha's ideas just through his production lens. Sasha is a DJ not a producer, and that's okay, he still knows what a great track should sound like, he just needs a bit of help to get there. It's a bit like if you were building a house from scratch - you have an idea of what you want the house to look like, but you need an architect to help you make the picture in your head an actual workable reality. I don't see the problem personally, it's not like the producers aren't credited.

      @@androgyny77 i agree with everything you said there and don’t have a problem with any of it, just some things I’ve heard over the years and didn’t get the full picture of it

      @@brendyd7 I think we all agree about everything :P. They are both amazingly talented, and they both have at least enriched *my* life beyond comprehension.

    your story on how you became a cuber is really relatable! i have the same start as you, being able to solve many puzzles, except for this one it escaped me for about 6 years, before one day, i had a fever and was alone at home when i saw it collecting dust on my table i picked it up, and about a year later, right now, i average about 23 to 25 seconds one handed(i dont really do 2 handed) it changed my life a lot, and i too, bring one with me wherever i go
