Reminiscing - Award Winning Student Short Film
Love this dude!❤❤❤
Tbfr Justin was a good dude, maybe a dush, but cared about his sister. Good job on the representation as well. Lots of people with EDs love to give people food and handle it but never eat (at least people I know who sadly had/had one) it can come in all shapes and sizes, men, women, children, big, small, tall, or short.
Did the heart monitor sound in the end mean that he died??
Two differences between this project and MTV? First, this is an actual music video, something MTV hasn’t done in decades. Second, it far more watchable than any of the crap MTV plays today. Excellent video! BFS needs to hire you to write, produce, direct and star in their next video!!
That chick is pissing me off!
Great film!
I don’t have an eating disorder, but I sometimes get thoughts about wishing I was skinnier even tho I’m not fat. When his gf said ‘’he loves food’’ I felt the embarrassment 😢
You don’t give a presentation on something you haven’t been thru. Tf is wrong with the gf? A lot more is wrong with her than her bf…
Whole family’s crazy. Major red flags from the gf. Home boy needs to RUN.
My social studies teacher was in this at 15:11 . His name is Mr. Oppenheim
That's amazing! We loved working with Steven (Mr. Oppenheim)!
@@kjpictures105 yes! He showed this to us during class during one if his stories he told. I have an eating disorder like the guy in the video (I don’t smoke, though) so when he showed this to us I felt happy that there was a boy main character guy instead of just a female one because that’s all I see usually
This was shot in Denton too it looks like, awesome detail haha
Many a girl - and boy- have died using their bodies to try to tell somone they're not OK. .
Wow i never thought id see someone struggling with an ed who is going through the same things i am. Usually it's all teenage girls in media, which there's nothing wrong with, but it means a lot to see another young guy do such a good job of portraying how it feels to hold those feelings inside when there are others around you trying to make you eat more
this is cringy af
I think it’s cool. My teacher is in it at 15:11 soo :P
Well done!
The acting is poor but the premise is very good. I just wish this was done better the acting and editing is pretty poor. Also I’m not sure why they called it Feeding Tube? I get the link with AN but there’s no feeding tube just a breathing device. One for his mouth and one for his nose lol. Just a bad quality film with so much potential
It was a low budget indie short film. I know a lot about it because my teacher was in it as professor kern (guy at 15:11 ) His friends were the directors so he told us all about it. His name is Steven oppenheim, but we call him Mr. Oppenheim.
Does Jaret know that this exists?
He needs to!
Nobody is perfect he shouldn’t have to change for nobody! It’s so sad people with eating disorders think they are fat I think it’s more then that it’s low esteem and self hate!
WOW powerful.
Tbh they're both not in the wrong. I understand both sides because i've been in both positions. Its so sad that this actually happens to so many people.
Bravo Kaylee and Andrew!!!!!!!
I will openly say I have BED (Binge Eating Disorder)A lot of days I feel really gilty about eating the way I do and I don't wanna eat anymore but I do and regret it.
the ending made me cry 😭💔
See, they’re so nasty calling the man Cyrus if I was Miley Cyrus I would sue because last time I checked a country concert got shot up and all these people that write it in our culture it’s in our art in our music we just come clean about psychiatric ward being the worst thing to ever happen in healthcare why are they still corrupt? I know that HIV aids doesn’t even go well not all of them is that why HIV aids wants to get a gun and then give hiv aids to everyone to sue the psychiatric ward that thinks they’re fucking God
Cyrus is a name. Miley Cyrus doesn’t have a copyrighted name you bozo.
See I knew that new feeding tube comes from some corrupt psychiatric ward because I remember feeding tubes being from the stomach directly. Also, if some nurse try telling you oh, it’s so if they stop breathing, she should quit her job and you should fire her because they have no idea what they’re talking about. Some corrupt piece of shit made a feeding tube from a nose and all these young kids are making fun of it because people lie about suicides to get money.
By the way, I’m glad they made a film about the feeding tube because I noticed that the feeding tube looks different and it definitely comes from a psychiatric ward and all these lies about suicide or costing people a lot of money and hating the free healthcare budget even more these people left millions millions of dollars rather just put money towards hospitals so if people get HIV aids by some pandemic they just get $1 million upfront Because in FEMA and I looked it up your life is worth $1 million. The government has to give you $1 million from 0 to 18 it’s $1 million.
Yo, I’ll go after Utah. They wanna make Sundance about something so freaking corrupt and terrorist like yo I don’t like Utah neither does splatoon explain to me why the Eiffel Tower is upside down in the valley of death in the first level
I am the outlier. I am a 61 year old male and I have suffered with Anorexia for 26 years. I am currently in my disorder. The last time i was in treatment, last year, there were 2 patients who were older than myself. This mental disease does NOT discriminate whatsoever! The thing that DOES discriminate are treatment facilities The vast majority of them deny accessibility for men over 25. By law everyone is entitled to healthcare, regardless of age or gender. It's always baffled me how they get away with their discriminating policies.
13:55 I love how you could see his thoughts spiral “I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m so sorry”. Great acting and great emotional storytelling
This is the first time I’ve ever commented on a UA-cam video but I gotta let ya know, man this is amazing
I'm a transmasc guy w an ED. I appreciate so much seeing a masc person w/ an ED represented. People are finally starting to get that all types of people have EDs.
Amazing video guys
This was hands down the best film I have ever seen. It was very realistic and it was impressive how you could make the viewers sympathize with the characters, considering the length of the film. Giving a male character the disorder did not only break the stigma of only females dealing with them, but it also broke the stigma of females always understanding eating disorders/supporting them (supporting weight loss or diets no matter how thin the person is) . Recently I've been getting very triggered by seeing others dealing with eating disorders (for context I was hospitalized in february) and this really made me remember that everyone who deals with EDs are their own persons with their own lives. This movie makes it so clear that the persons dealing with the EDs may want to recover, but it really isn't that easy. Thank you for this masterpiece 🙏
That was so mean to embarrass him like that at dinner
Thank you for an eye-opener that eating disorders is also a male issue. This whole production was well done. Starting with the chef yelling at the new guy to roll up his sleeves that he should have known that from culinary school. Right away I thought this film is going to have good detail. The couple behaved as if they are really together. The small lines between them in the kitchen and then the big argument. Great-great job
This would have been so much more powerful without the music.
this is such an accurate short film the mom made me so mad
Incredible film. From the storyline to the actors, it was well executed.
this is an amazing piece of work. couldn't have made it any better. hope to see more work from these directors in the future !
Aashish Thakur fine asf
This was so heart breaking. Ive had an ed for most of my life and it sucks. In and out of hospitals. All those times I've only seen a couple of men getting treatment. And I know it's because of the stigma. Men don't feel like they can reach out and other people don't take them seriously. I love that this film had a man play the role of the sufferer because this illness does not discriminate. It can affect anyone. And people need to realise that this illness hurts men too. I love this and this film deserves way more recognition ❤
The acting in this is so bad lmao
Wait dude he died ???!😢😢😢
no, this is a film
@@zebra-kt2gqin the film he died, yes
Wow that whole family needs help.
The short film was good however the title wasn’t so good. The whole feeding tube = ED stigma is damaging. At no point does the guy with an ED have a feeding tube when in hospital he is intubated and the tubes you see are breathing tubes. I mean I guess there may be an attempt of portraying a nasogastric tube in the left nostril however the tube is very clear and not connected to feed or really go anywhere and plays such a small almost unnoticeable role in the film. It makes me angry that so many people portray feeding tube use just for eating disorders or cancer when that is so wrong and it’s misinformation. I’ve been tube fed and intravenously fed for 10 years now as my stomach and intestines don’t work. This is caused by gastroparesis which is linked to EDS (Ehlers-Danlos syndrome).
This short film had me in tears. So well done.
Jesus loves you all repent and turn to him
I hope the dad gets out of there too
Why did that girl want to take him to meet her terrible family? They were beyond awful
i love that this was different from the way we typically see eating disorders portrayed in the media. It’s usually a teenage girl with body dysmorphia who wants to be skinner and prettier so she stops eating. but this was a change of pace and a wonderful new perspective.
