ABOUT ME
As an "experimenter" in art, I use a variety of tools, techniques and materials to make layered, aged- and weathered-looking art that tells a story. I love the idea of using things beyond their original intent - taking overlooked materials and breathing new life into them through layered, weathered compositions. Each piece becomes a visual story, where a forgotten scrap of fabric or a used tea bag finds new meaning.
If you'd like to join me on this journey of artistic exploration, subscribe to my newsletter for updates about projects, courses, and workshops. I would love to know about your creative path and look forward to sharing inspiration through Instagram and UA-cam.

Where do you purchase your inexpensive wood panels?
I got mine at Walmart craft department.
That is a brilliant idea! And what a great way to bring together something you and your dad both enjoyed. Plus the piece you showed was quite lovely.
Thank you so much! It really means a lot to me to read your thoughts.
@CarolAnnWebsterArt absolutely! I appreciate you sharing your art. I can't wait to see what other tips and tricks you utilize to create such beautiful pieces.

This is fabulous! Did you print from a laser or inkjet onto the tea bag paper?
@@bleueyes28 Yes, I printed it directly to the tea bag on my inkjet printer. Thanks for the compliment!
I ❤ it. I imagine parchment paper or even wax paper could work(differently) but very cool
I agree! Thanks for watching.😍

You are so welcome! 😍
Thanks for sharing. I'm going to another eco printing class next week. No Coreopsis flowering yet here in the UK but I'm going to try some Cosmos after watching your video.
Enjoy the process!
Thanks for sharing, Carol!! -Becky
You're welcome, Becky!
Were the papers soaked in only water? And what kind of paper do you recommend?
I soak them in a mixture of water and alum acetate. I use 140 lb watercolor paper. Thanks for asking!
@@CarolAnnWebsterArt Hi, Carol! Thank you for sharing your process. What is your water to alum acetate ratio? Thank you!
@@CarolAnnWebsterArt Oh and also, you had mentioned in one of your videos that you used onion skins but I have not seen you use them in any of your videos. If you have, could you please direct me to the correct link? Thank you!
@@MommaMia-k8t I use about a tablespoon to 1 quart of water.
@@MommaMia-k8t I need to go back and check. I can't remember, lol!
They came out very nice! Very interesting how the Japanese Maple leaf prints different colors! Thank you!
Isn't that crazy? I love that part.
I enjoyed watching you do this and so clearly explained. Do you frame your prints or do something else? And are they light fast? Do they fade? Many thanks again.
I have a couple of ways to use those papers, like mounting on cradled board and making greeting cards. None of mine have faded but I think using a uv spray couldn't hurt.
@@CarolAnnWebsterArt thank you, I'll have to check out the uv spray 😊
Do you use empty tea bags or have you found a particular brand that you like to use?
Yes, I love Stash tea bags. They have a string, no staple, and they are big enough for my art. Thanks for asking!
Thanks about hand sanitiser, it’s difficult to get rubbing alcohol etc here in uk, but that’s a great alternative.
I agree. it's easier to work with.
is there anyway to make them a different color. like pink or purple? I know, picky picky lol
I don't know of a way. The chemical is a photographic process and I don't know how to change its color from blue. Sorry.
this is so cool! Im reorganizing my craftroom. Just yesterday i came across all my clay and tools. we hauled it out and now i can get to it. I tend to want things that no one sells. lol this video will really help me get back into it! hugs, treen
This is amazing! I didn’t realize you could do all this on teabags . Could you tell me what sort of teabags you use? They look big.
I love the Stash brand. The bags are about 4x6 with no staple. There's a knot that you untie (I use a bamboo skewer). I have more tutorials on my website, carolannwebster.com. I hope this is helpful.😍
Fabulous! Does this work with any alcohol ie. isopropol alcohol? Thanks so much for sharing Carol
Yes. I use hand-sanitizer because it dries slower. Thank you for the kind words😍
Thank you Carol I will certainly try this method
Let me know how it goes, Thanks for watching!
Thats really cool
Thank you!
Great idea! nice video...
Thank you! I 'm glad you enjoyed it.

Love everything you do!!👏👏👏
Thank you! 😊
Just found you!! How can I do this on furniture? Love it
Thank you!
Could you have placed the tea bag on the printer paper and printed the image right on to the tea bag?
Yes! I've done that, too. Thanks for the reminder.
So pretty! ~Velvet
Thank you!!
Not only is your picture beautiful but your work in framing it. Good idea to use a weight for closer adherence. Thank you
Thank you very much!
Who would have thought...super glue...beautiful thank you.

Oh my gosh Carol, I love them. ALL of them, the earthy colors and textures, starting from all the rusty things on the cookie sheet...a beautiful work of art for the wall. Second..the plastic wrap with the greenish color and rust..and of course the tea bags...love your creative vibe Carol..
