You're right. It got stuck on the wheel and slid on the side of the wheel-holder and a tip on the floor. That's not what we want. Since I was using it to finish the little cracks, I used it where I was sure it didn't get dirty, and you can watch the video and see that I didn't use that same rag anymore. Be really careful with that because it can cause damage, guys. Always change your rags when you're not sure if you should use it.

We didn’t do a slow steady polish like traditionally done. This was quick passes on a speed of 3 with a light polish on a black pad, like you would applying a wax.(as mentioned in the video). As gentle as gentle can get. 👍🏻

Its hard for me to tell you which pad and compound will do what because every brand offers those in different grit levels. I’d look at the brand you have and see what grit they say each product is. Go off of that! Based on that you can build a 2 step system. One cut step and one polish step. Let me know if this helps get you started.

@@mintypremiumdetail2720 I believe I'm trying to do paint correction on the roof. It was pretty dull, and after polishing it, I still see a cloudy finish underneath. This is the first time I've ever used a polisher, so I'm trying to take it low and slow. Thanks for your quick responses, not trying to be a pest.

@@randysmith1630A paint correction is 2 steps. One more aggressive cut stage and following up with a softer polishing stage to refine it. Are you using a compound or a polish? Do you have both? Which one of your pads is a cutting pad? I would start with this one and do 3 passes on speed 4.5. If you’re seeing oxidation you will have to use a compound and a cutting pad.

You are absolutely correct my friend, and a mistake on my part for wording it like that. I guess after polishing so many different cars we end up with tendencies.

To answer your question about trim, we typically go with a product called trim coat. It's a ceramic coating designed specifically for trim. Enriches the color and lasts an extended period of time.
