My videos don`t use lots of fancy editing...I just get right to the point of the video and provide the information that viewers are looking for! Lets test the Extreme Air Magnum 24 volt air compressor today? How long does it take to fill up a flat 37 in tire? EDIT .48 second mark -Its a 2 gallon tank not a 1 gallon tank.

New to me HMMWV walk around and look inside
Looks great! I would've never guessed years ago that good condition surplus slant back models would basically double the surplus price 🤯 Or see slant back take offs selling for MORR than some fairly decent running/driving surplus Humvees! 🫠Nice job 👍
That's definitely built better than the originals, looks great man 👍
I love it one day I'll have one
Looking good so far 🍻 Will you move the ac evaporator to the outside, or leave it inside?
It will stay inside and have a cut out in the top to vent the air
Digging that paint job, can't wait to see the slant back build 🍻
Paints looking good!
How did it work out ??
Still fine, drive all the time
Awesome rig! Not sure if this is something you'd want, but they make reproduction toggle switch guards like the ones for the space shuttle. Might keep you from flipping a switch accidentally, and they look sick! :D
would you want to sell templates of window frame and maybe sell the actual door gap panels you made? could be a nice nitch to fill that might make a be a good business.
I Considered it.
Love your updates . I am working on a top for a M1123. Hope you do not mind but I have some questions. Do you have measurements for the 4 piece hard top? what was the measurement of the 45 degree bend ?and what did you use for the gasket material?
I dont have measurements. For gasket, i found that ,"rope gasket" pressed onto the small space between each piece works great to seal up. There is another video in the series that also shows more about sealing the top pieces.
why did you do all this but its not driveable on a highway
It is where Im at
@@M998A1HMMWV-jz7bbWith all the parts compatibility GM has, I imagine it wouldn't be impossible to get a transmission with OD, right?
Where'd ya get this,surplus? I want one!
Very cool updates
Thank you for the informative and detailed video. Best regards from Germany
That looks so small and compact. Even you can use for camping in the tent if you gonna throw couple of batteries and solar panels
I’m planning to do the same. Was that 3” or 4” angle
3x3
Bro, those are some really nice features you added. If I could own a HMMWV, I would copy some of those ideas. Unfortunately, and thanks to the fu&*king democrats, Calif won't allow these on the road. You're fortunate you have the ability to engineer and do that metal and electrical work. Keep up the good job.
20:15 I was backwards!!! The larger is the outer boot
IS THAT AIRCRAFT SEAT
How did you get the angles on the roof?
Scribed a line in metal to thin it and allow bend then welded it solid.
Great video and good ideas.
It would be better if you had made round hardtop and proper door jambs for fine doors.
Thanks god someone goes close, you did great job , but you did half work you need to copy ford bronco. The support you did is right but it would be better if you design to make door jambs in which door fits like cars. Second thing you will have to make hardtop like ford bronco by glass fiber by using clay on earth or soil. First make box shaped dirt then make glass fiber hardtop smaller few inch like jeep wrangler or bronco or today's design
maybe a small window what you can open and close. that can come handy, and when you backing the truck you can look back.
Looks nice man. If you put bigger tires, the baby gonna eat more also.
Them seats are awesome i have a chance to get mine but things not going to good for me right now driving me nuts. Look good
Outstanding work. Looks great!
awesome.
you should do some cad drawings.. i know some people who would buy them lol. love the top and trim you did. great job.
great idea!
Loving it bud. I'm probably going to do my own as well minus the t-tops
Theoretically you could raise up the top an additional 3-4 inches by extending the height of the B pillar and C pillar, adding a spacer to the A support and extending the both side panels an additional height needed to fill the side gaps. One could also extend the cover towards the back with additional heights if one cannot find a helmet top. What grade of aluminum did you use on this build? If one is in a cold climate going with an Espar or Webasto 24 volt diesel heater can help supplement cabin heat. I would not invest in any of the Chi-Com heaters, especially if they advertise it as 24 volt. So far this is looking real nice and the security for your radio gear is excellent. They would have to remove the tops to unscrew the console.
I sold my helmet top to build this. I actually wanted a shorter roof. I think it looks better.
How much to make me a roof for my m1114 tucson Arizona
Im not in a positiin to make any right now but I may be able to fab these in the future.
@@M998A1HMMWV-jz7bb let me know its no rush on it either and can leave the truck with you. It already has the c pillar with the slant lback
@@AnthonyEspinoza-p1f do you want T Tops or just a one piece top?
@@M998A1HMMWV-jz7bb which ever is easier i dont mind. I had a guy make me one out of steel and it doesnt look pretty haha but also he did charge me $150 without materials
@@M998A1HMMWV-jz7bb it doesnt matter whichever is easiest
I like the idea! I wonder if the make the 1/2” poly with Scratch and Abrasion Resistant mix. Have you had issues with idiots throwing rocks at your Hummer? I am not sure if the SAR POLY is just coated or is it a whole different formula of plastic.
No issues. I just had the poly laying around and wanted to try it. Would work good in a "riot"environment.
Nice work! Looks store bought! How do you like the helmet top? Trying to find one for my project.
I sold the helmet top and made T Tops. There are several videos on here showing the build
@@masonmainpage4105 did you take an aftermarket hard top and cut it into the four pieces? I like the idea, nice and dry for winter but you can remove any section or all for summer fun.
@@Subgunman no, it was all custom made.
Not a bad idea however I run Emcomms utilizing civilian HF radios. Most of those switching converters create way too much EMI and RFI on the HF bands. I would opt to instal an auxiliary 12 volt battery under the rear passenger side seat Fed by a fused line capable of at least 60 amps DC to the aux battery from the 12 volt post of the alternator and from there instal the fuse block next to the battery to feed various equipment. Out of that fuse block you can feed a second fuse block up front to the radio mount over the dog house to feed radios. Any cables run under the passenger compartment in the chassis area should be protected with split loom tubing that is taped shut and then run through tight fitting grommets when entering the passenger compartment. Words of wisdom for those who might venture into purchasing a Hummer for Emcomms or SAR work.
Youve done a grrat job!!! Wow. Looks awesome. Seays are gorgeous.
What’s that screen you have mounted there? 4 cameras!?
3 cameras. One on each side under mirrors and one in back.
What part of AZ?
M998-as @jaxturner7288 said, that is only one way to do it. Totally depends on which electrical system you have on different trucks. The later ones with 200a alternator, had the 12volt tap on regulator. Well known solution on that style is to wire off of "rear" battery. Won't go into it all here, people can do their own research. And I hope you carry a fire extinguisher with you and all that spaghetti wiring!!
😻 'promosm'
I really enjoyed and i can’t wait to see complete project of your humvee
great job, im going to copy your design for the 4 man top. ill do the rear door opening like you did the front. i plan on fully welding it all and have it a one piece top.
awesome... i got plenty of ideas from your video.
Anyone thought of the idea of making it go all the way up like the side armored on the ECV and REV humvees?
Could be benefit to that. mine are higher than the ones I see for sale online.
That’s one way to do it but using the 12v acc. terminal on the alternator would have accomplished your power supply goal while leaving the primary 24v system more reliable with less load, resistance and fewer parasitic energized components on board. Good job though. 👍
Mine has a 24 volt "civilian" alternator, no 12 volt output on it. I also dont think its good to run high amp accessories directly off of any alternator. I think its always recommended to run them from the batteries. Car stereo amps as a example. I never see people wire the amp directly to a alternator..always to batteries.
Awesome alternative. I recommend adding a layer of high quality clear protective film to both sides. Resist the temptation to wipe or touch it as much as possible when it’s dirty and clean it with new microfiber and tint safe window cleaner when necessary. If you have to use the wipers, afterwards just peel and replace the outside film. Otherwise accumulating scratches will make glare at night terrible. Awesome project for sure guy. 👍
looks great, good effort
I wanted something somewhat bullet resistant (light arms) so went with with 1/8 steel sheeting, it's obviously heavier but also half the price, plus I can weld steel better than aluminum. But, what I did for the bend is score the sheet on the top side to bend it. I put two bends so the angle would be as low as possible. Once set I then welded every few inches down the seam on top. The rest got body filler. This allowed me to keep holes off the roof. Also, I welded on some angle iron for a drip rail. Personally I didn't like the look of a taller roof so I cut the b pillar down 1 inch to be level with the a pillar. It also kept me from creating a new frame around the windshield, I just made small fillers for the corners and welded them to the roof. I did all the cutting and scoring with a electric cut off wheel, a lot of work but worth the savings. It allowed me to put the money in the doors which aren't that easy to fabricate.
Thanks for info!!!
great project! you planning on hinging it so you can easily flip it out of the way for dogbox access?
Its about a 5 min removal for access. Very easy
I was seeing if you still had your old center console if you wanted to sell it I would like to put something like that into my humvee for my fire district
@@jimpenix399 sorry. Dont have
