What a cool guy Mr. Biggs was. Great stories too. Very enjoyable.
glad it worked out for him in the end seemed like a decent bloke and not a 'violent heinous villain' like some liked to portray him in the media. living like a king in brasil must be like living in heaven all those women. the booze, the women.. god blesses.
the robbers made 3x mistakes - they coshed the driver, 2x left finger prints at the HQ, 3x didn't work on an effective end game what to do after the robbery they should have worked on this more. but what about those brasilian chicks at 16:444 wow wow wee waa.
Ought to get 30 to life for his singing.....
You are an excellent reporter. Don't speak unnecessarily unless relevant which is a rarity
I mean if you achieve a Carnaval float dedicated to yourself in Rio, you really have arrived!
What a waste of a life!
legend jembrana ❤
THEY TRULY LOVED EACH OTHER ❤
Excellent rapping by Ron and excellent lyrics by him too.❤❤❤❤
Enjoyed this video,thanks,rip Ronnie.
His wife treated like garbage
The government could of learned a lot out this man
I wonder if Ron used battery tools in his work ?
this dude is nothing but a con man
I can’t help admire this geezer I don’t believe in wronging anybody & what really does my head in is the Real criminals that run this country in particular. Ronnie wasn’t a criminal he was just someone that got caught up in a life of crime at a certain point of his young life - you can see how it happens in such circumstances. It’s good Brazil don’t seem stuck in the ages in its justice system.
Some men are condemned their whole lives for merely pursuing what should be rightfully theirs in the first place. R.i.p 🙏🏼
Do you research, only employed to acquire a train driver, and then he couldn’t find the hand brake ( both got told to go and sit in the land rover!)
All 3 parts fantastic, great to watch. Always wanted to get to Rio to see the statue of Christ & meet Ronnie Biggs but sadly never made it. Thank you Mike, R.I.P. Ronnie.
Thank you for your comment...it was time ago, but Ronnie was great company.
@@TheOriginalLordMike Much appreciated Mike, All the Best. 😎
Anyone know who the guy is interviewing Ronnie?
It is me! A old codger now living in Andalusia.
@@TheOriginalLordMike Hi Great you captured this How did this come about with you meeting Ronnie ?
@@TheOriginalLordMike Hi Mike, have you done any interviews with other criminals?
The man oozes with class.
I’ve just listened to the Bruce Reynolds’s audio book & it’s crazy that they saw the train robbery as there pension plan & be set for life but after a few years on the run he was back in England looking at robbery’s because the money had ran out , if Bruce only used his brain into a legitimate business he would of been set for life
his life was like a real james bond type scenario and what a kind easy going fella
Poor Ronnie R.I.P he seemed such a nice old guy. I was few months old when they did the train robbery and i think they became like heros to most. But was awful what they did too train driver.😊
They only gave him a couple of whacks over the head, no big deal, he got early retirement for it so he never complained.
Interesting and informative
Interesting and informative
I have mixed feelings about Biggs. He was surprisingly articulate and made some good points on the penal process, especially for young offenders, educational opportunity and so on. But Biggs blew his way through 3 fortunes, not just one. He had the GTR fortune. He had the book fortune. And in between he had the fortune made by his son Mike's becoming part of the Balao Magico TV series. If he had the sense to get someone with financial expertise to manage Mike's earnings he would have been able to live out his time in Rio. Perhaps Mike would be more secure too. I'd like to check out the reality of his pre-Raimunda days. It doesn't compute to my ears.
The GTR fortune was used up on the escape
The best interview I've seen of any of the famed UK criminals. Clearly an intelligent and likeable man that had the most colourful life. Strange that he still had a slight Aussie accent nearly 30 years after leaving Melbourne.
‘Framed’ more like
Must should be ashamed of himself. Ruined people lives. What a selfish person. This is when life sentence should come into place. People like this do not belong in society.
How did he end up in Jail overseas if what he says is right ? Why was he never extradicted ? Never understood it. Would not have a gig corporate today. Promotes trade ? Can he go to NZ ? America ?
The jail jump, the kidnap attempt, the robbery itself all seem a little too vaguely touched on, you\d think these would be burnt in and vivid events even if so long ago? Shame he didn't give more detailed blow by blow insight... or was this another fairy story full of actors? (kinda getting used to that being the case the more time goes on)
Once a thief, always a thief! He stole the life of his wife Charmian & their sons, too. But, he has a convincing 'good guy' personality. Such a shame he couldn't have had a 'straight/normal' life, he seems well spoken/intelligent.
He was a risk taker. Sitting at home with his pipe and slippers wasn’t for him lol
There's got to be easier ways to be a chippie abroad lol
I really liked this video, it offered great insight into his life in Brazil, never mind the money from the Great Train Robbery, just imagine the adventures this man has had in his life, that is something money can't buy!!!
i like the ideea that people from arround the world pay you the table and some cash just to let them know a story, nice!
He was a likable man who became famous for one thing, The Great Train Robbery, the sentence was a real bodyblow, yes the train driver was badly injured but the punishment was not for that,it was for having the audacity to Rob the mail Train £2.5m of the Queen's money, he was a working class rouge a Arfur Daly sort wot got caught.
Memories...
Really enjoyed these interviews mate rip Ron my old pal forever ingrained in British folklore legend!!! Was it you Mike who did these interviews???
Keep on rocking our Ron. Rip
What a lovely man, I am shocked. :)
Old Fred foreman getting them out the country and away, what a man.
They should put people first before money heros just want a drink somewhere to go to have a good life and after all it was just a train men just want to better there lifes good on you ronney
It's like Ronnie says in his interview if you go into the prison system in the UK for a couple of months or maybe a year it's like a free holiday camp . it's like I've commented on other channels , on this subject ,about the UK prison system . I can't for the life of me understand why people " who are homeless And are Living in , freezing outside temperatures in a cardboard box in shop doorways . When all they need to do. is a stupid crime " and go to prison for 3-months and have plenty of heating in your cell and 3 Square meals a day . That's If you haven't got much of a life outside " which you haven't if you are living in a cardboard box (homeless) Then prison is for you in the UK , I'm on about . I don't know about the rest of the world . I haven't experienced that one. I would rather keep warm and have three meals a day , than be freezing and starving , but have my dignity . While this current government looks after people who have entered this country illegally (dinghy divers) People who do go into the prison system are not worried about their dignity , let me tell you that one . And I know first-hand Because I did 6 months for contempt of court " for telling the judge he was an a**hole with a wig on his head and maybe a few other things in temper aswell , lol on his £2;000 ($2400) a week wages (salary), 🇬🇧 And in this country if you get 6 months . You can only do 3 months , as long as you are a good boy " while you are completing your sentence . So my question is why does the judge knock. his gavel (hammer) down and say six months when he knows fine well your probably only gonna to be doing 3 months .🤔🇬🇧🏴
Homeless people are not usually criminals most have a dislike of authority & rules Also being homeless in a social / public environment can be a cry for help, either way nobody usually (intentionally) make themselves homeless or gets nicked. Good for you regarding the judge 👍🏼 Bit harsh tho 3months for honesty !
@@buzby303 I got 6 months because I wouldn't shut up he started off with two weeks then it went a four weeks then it went 2months because I didn't just mention the wig I mentioned out of touch with the reality every bloody thing Proper rant . It was over a divorce , and I knew she was lying through her teeth But the judge believed her , not me see she's educated I am not And when I came out of prison three months later the local council set me up with a flat and give me a £500 grant 🏴
He might not be the main man in the gang But he is " The most famous , one . But when you think of the Great Train robbery , you think of Ronnie Biggs . You don't think of any of the others " do you .🤔
There’s always a fall guy
The story goes that he came back to the UK because his health was declining And he wanted the free NHS Which he's still a British citizen so he is entitled to it It doesn't matter what his done People in the prison system are still entitled to their free NHS So why not Ronnie ?
I don't know why not, but I don't think he had British citizenship any more. He went back to be reunited with his sons, not for the health care.
What was up with his health / his leg ?
@@monelleny he's reunited with his sons , was probably just the excuse He new fine well he would get looked after " for free on his return he also knew he would get a prison term . But he also knew he would get looked after aswell more than what he was getting in Brazil 🤔🏴 .
@@monelleny after all those years on the run....how would he be entitled to the nhs?....he didn't pay any national insurance....don't talk wet.
A Proper Woz Ya, Laffin, U know Dat, Is Right, All Day at the Bay. !! 😜
Party th berapa ini Nur?
Tahun berapa itu party nya Nur masih muda kayak nya
Why is this counter running all the time? It's annoying.
A gentleman robber.
Ronnie might be a charming guy but singing is not his thing, LOL.
