C43 AMG Mercedes W202 gearbox oil cooler modification.
The C43 AMG gearbox is known as a weak point for the car but with a couple of modifications it can be the strong point. Below are some links to parts I have used. I have fitted a number of these over the years and the gearboxes have never had issues again.

W202 steering box adjustment, removes play in steering. If engine was in Allen key bolt to be turned clockwise 1/4 turn at a time.

Could you not get a oil cooler with the pipes on the side like left&right that would save cutting the undertray?
You are welcome to try, the ones I tried like this ended up hitting towing eye and more expensive plastics so this was the trade off for me.
Where did you get tune I need someone to tune mine
The garage it was done at is no longer going. I used a split second MAF sensor controller to help the old ecu adapt.

Definitely not a 63 slayer. I have a 5.4 swapped C43 with a HPS supercharger. No where near as fast as my P31 C63. Still an awesome build!
Well you have done something wrong then as a standard 5.5 powered W202 will take a C63 down. This did have additional mods as well, kleemann cams, 3”twin pipes straight through. SLR built gearbox. Quaife Diff. Direct injection nitrous, methanol injection, custom intake, machined intake. Larger crank pulley. Custom upper pulley. Split second MAF adjustment.

I have a 2001 CLK55 AMG. To do the adjustment, do you turn the centre bolt clockwise, or anti clockwise? Some places say anti clockwise, some places like this say to "screw in". Thanks.

I just did mine but didn't make a video for it. I want to give some advice. It's Very hard with the engine in. You should use the ball joint fork cause even with some room and a very heavy hammer the joints won't move. The trick to getting it in and out with the motor in is working on the side that connects to the steering motor first. You have to have the key in the ignition and have the wheel in free spin. Then you have to push the draglink to the passenger side so it has just enough room to come out and clear the steering motor. It is tricky to do by yourself but possible. The same method for putting it back in work on the steering motor first cause passenger side is easy but you cant do passenger side first.

I have to do this in my clk430. Exhaust manifold literally sitting on top of the gear box. I have to replace motor mounts so im gonna try to reach it while i have the motor lifted a few inches
How much psi was it running when it made almost 450hp?
Nice car. But were you not disappointed with the power figures? Only 443bhp with a blower and cams.
j black No very happy, torque wins races not bhp with this producing 576 ft lbs it was pretty untouchable on the road. These figures were also on a safe map and not even started on adding smaller pulleys.

Black Opal is one of the best colors for this car! It is awesome that the 5.4 is a, relatively, simple bolt-in upgrade. I wish the M113 kompressor engine was equally simple. That way I could drop the WeisTec kompressor ( bigger capacity without heat soak problems ) and have a truly maniacal AMG. I'd compromise with the HPS unit, if only they were not illegal to run in California, thank you California Air Resources Bastards. Well done sir for keeping your beatific machine in such wonderful shape, and thank you for posting.

Lol, it's a total PITA to adjust the box while it's still on the car.
Wasn't too bad.....thought I had to loosen the driver's side engine mount to lift the engine but that wasn't the case. Things to remove: Intake and engine cover, windshield washer reservoir, plugs and coils, and driver's side exhaust manifold. Manifold has 3 bolts on top, 3 on the bottom, and 2 for the pipe going to the cat (all bottom bolts accessible from underneath). Here's a pic...i.imgur.com/7LHZapd.jpg
Do you k ow if ot needs to be adjusted clockwise, or anti clockwise (when looking from the top, like in your picture)?

GEAR HEAD Yes for sure prices have risen in the last 2 years dramatically, so owners who purchased 5 years ago are already if not getting there money back making profit.
